My name is Cynthia but I go by Cindy. I was originally born and raised in Minnesota but I currently live in Alabama. I have been in the Air Force for nearly 23 years. I joined at 18 years old and then when I had children I transferred after 18 years into the Active Air Guard. My husband is from Pennsylvania and is retired Air Force and my son John Wesley age 8 and daughter Adrianna age 5 are my passion for life. I’m definitely a photo nut but I’m no professional. If I get a great photo it’s by luck not by skill. I love looking at all photo books in the Gallery as it gives me so many ideas. I want to attempt Digital Scrapbooking but honestly between working full time and having two young children I just don’t have the time that’s why I love shutterfly and its layout options.
Promotion!!
I found out yesterday that I was selected as the new State Recruiting and Retention Superintendent. I will be transferring on the 19th of October. It will also mean that I will eventually be promoted to E-8. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think 24 years ago that I would still be in the military at this point and have the opportunity to be a SMSgt. I will be extremely busy in the next few months as I transition to my new position and responsibilities. I feel very blessed with the love and support of my family to be given this opportunity. I’m so very lucky to have Neil who has supported me and encouraged me throughout this process. I could not do it without HIM!! He has now taken on a lot of responsibility himself as I will be commuting about an hour and 45 minutes one way daily.
Disney World Here we Come!
We'll in a few short hours we will be on our way to Disney World! WooHoo! We have to wait until 11:30 to check the kids out and then we are on our way. It will be 12 wonderful days away. I hope everyone has a great couple of weeks. I'll be back after the 27th of September.
Computer Crashed!
Well on Friday my computer had a corrupted file that would not allow windows to come up!! UGH!! Through phone calls to my step son trying to assisst me over the phone to get it fixed I ended finally being able to get into it in safe mode and make sure everything was backed up on the MY BOOK before I reformated and reloaded the computer. It's now a work in progress to get it back to where it was. I will be working on the computer to get all my software loaded and back to speed before we leave for Disney World in 8 DAYS!!! We are ready for the break!
Teacher Meet and Greet
Well Monday was our meet and greet with the kids new teachers. They started school this morning so stay tuned for new pictures...of course. I'm taking bets on who will have the most patience this year with my two precious angels. I have a feeling Adrianna will win as John Wesley had the same teacher and she used to be our next door neighbor and adores both my children. She'll be the queen of the class. John Wesley goes with the flow. Thank goodness. I can't believe school is already here and a scrumage football game begins this weekend. WOW!!
A Busy Summer and now into a busy Fall
It has been a busy month here at the Young household and starting next week it will be back to school and homework...ugh! We have a family reunion this weekend in Viriginia and then school starts back on Wedensday. Adrianna has started Cheerleading for the first time and so far is loving it. She has her cheerleading camp this week. John Wesley will be starting Soccer soon so I will have my team share site back up and running. It's going to be a busy fall... Oh yeah and then 42 days until another Disney Trip! Hope everyone has a great day.
Visit to Canada
Neil, Just returned from a visit to Nova Scotia Canada. He used to go there as a child every year for the summer. He has not been back for nearly 30 years. As a wish to his mother he returned for a week while she was visiting as well. He had a wonderful time. My favorite photo is him on the Canon (which used to be there) and then the photo of him as a child in that extra same spot. He also turned 50!! Friday was his 50th Birthday. Hope everyone is doing well.
Birthdays
Well on Sunday 14 Jun 09 we did the kid's birthday party. It's been a crazy two weeks so I haven't been able to update much lately. The kids had a great time. We are heading to Disney on Friday... WOOHOO but the kids don't know. It's to celebrate their birthdays which are two weeks apart. Actually John Wesley is June 16th, Adrianna is July 1st and then Neil will be 50 on July 17th. It will be a triple celebration! It's going to be HOT!! Hope everyone has a great week. Much to do before we go! :)
Kindergarten Graduation
Well it was a big day today for Adrianna. She is offiical a 1st grader. My little girl is growing up. John Wesley will be 9 in two weeks. UGH! I'm getting old. She had a big day and we are very proud of both Adrianna and John Wesley. We get report cards tomorrow. They will be starting daycare next week with all kinds of fun activies. Movies one day, the pool, and the Library. I need to go to daycare.
Busy Busy Busy
Well all I can say is WHOSH!! What a week. We celebrated my mother in-laws 80th birthday and it was great. She LOVED her book. The house is all quite but Dance Recital tomorrow and Soccer Tournament. Double duty means 2 different directions. We are doing the rain dance hoping that the Soccer game will be canceled to knock out at least one event for Saturday. Then Drill on Sunday. Hopefully next week will slow down...I have so MUCH to catch up on. 2 Disney books I need to get done, Disney Photopass to finish from last weekend, 2 school books to wrap up....on on on. Hope everyone has a good night.
Back from Disney World
Well it was a great but short trip to Disney World. A totally unexpected and unplanned get a way. Back to work today. Ugh! In-laws are coming in today and with dance practice tonight. Field Day at school tomorrow and our family get together for my Mother In Laws 80th Birthday. I'm so excited to have her here. She is great. It's going to be a crazy week.... Hope everyone is doing well.
Off to Disney World
Well every year for the past 2 years we have been at Disney World for Mother's Day. This year we planned not to go BUT then we had some things come up and decided it would be great to get a way for the weekend. Disney World here we come. We will be leaving tomorrow and returning on Monday. A short trip but we really need the break. The kids don't know of course and Neil thinks it's funny that I have 2 days to prepare when normally I'm making plans at 11 months out, dining reservations at 90 days and a whole big spreadsheet. I don't even have time to coordinate outfits...ha-ha. My husband said if we go it's a T-shirt only weekend for him! OK I will agree BUT only because it's a short trip. Hope everyone has a great weekend and Mother's Day.
Done with Disney World Photopass!!
Well I'm finally done with my photopass CD. What a lot of work. I turned 650 photo's into 2,210 photo's once I added all the borders. WOSH!! I felt rushed when I saw they were offering a free Movie CD if you ordered by tonight. I've been working night and day to get it done. I've never gotten the Movie CD but it will have 112 photo that I selected in it with 7 chapters. I thought this might be a great idea for the parents vs 1,000 of photo. Well at least until I get my Shutterfly Book done! That's a work in progress too. I will have a minor outpatient surgery on Friday and then I will be leaving on Sunday to Minnesota. My father is having either stints or by-pass surgery on his heart. Say a prayer it's only the stints but with a pace-maker and defibulator already in place I fear it will be open heart surgery. I will be back on Thursday 9 Apr 09.
Back from Disney World
We just back back yesterday around 5:00 pm from Disney World. Back to work and school today. I'm so behind BUT it was worth the trip. I'm slowing but surely beginning to load pictures from the trip each night. I will also begin my next Disney Vacation Shutterfly Book! I can't wait...literally! Hopefully I will have it complete over the next month or two. Stay tuned for uploaded photo's and scrapbook pages as I complete my work in progress. I took 5,669 photo's and the photopass photographers took over 650. Whosh! Hope everyone is doing well.

We are off to see the Mouse today! We are so excited. We are going to pick the kids up after to school and surprise them with a note from Tinker Bell. We are so ready for Spring Break! Hope everyone has a great week.
March Already
Well just a quick note as it has been a very busy few weeks. Last week I was in Colorado for a conference and then this week trying to get caught up before we head to Disney World in 7 DAYS!!! We are all so ready for our trip. The kids still don't know as we will surprise them Thursday morning...if I can wait that long.. that we are heading south. We had 4 inches of snow this past Sunday. The kids where with their dad so they missed the big bulk of snow but there was still some left for a snow ball fight when they got home. It was so pretty BUT I don't live in the snow anymore for a reason. I was glad to see it go. Well time to get back to work. Sorry I haven't been around much but hopefully by Easter I will be able to take a deep breath and get caught up. Hope everyone has a great day!
A New Year and back to normal
Well Dad came down on 18 Dec and just left yesterday morning heading back to sunny Minnesota . COLD!! It was a great visit but I hated to see him go as did the kids. I made my dad suffer through a photo shot and then did one with him and the kids. That was fun!.. The kids are back in school so everything is getting back to normal. We booked another Disney World trip for Spring Break to surprise the kids. It was a quick decision on Neil's part of ..Let’s go to Disney. We are now Disney Vacation Club owners so we got free points to use by 3 Oct 09. So off we go to Disney World in March for 9 days and then in September for 10 days. What is so cool is they came out with a Salute to the Military with free 5 day tickets for Active and Retired military so Neil and I get in FREE. The tickets for all four of us will only cost $248.00 SWEET! The kids don't know about either trip. Better that way as the surprise is always fun. Work is BUSY so trying to get caught up there as well and we have Drill this weekend so fun stuff. Neil found out yesterday that he will have to turn in the company car. Part of so many cut backs with this bad economy. Needless to say we will be car shopping over the next few weeks. He hardly used it for personal use but it was great if I needed him to get the kids after school. We knew it was coming with the stop of all travel. I'd rather have him home then on the road. Hope everyone has continued blessing throughout the coming year.
Christmas Eve
The kids have been counting down for weeks now so they are very excited that it's Christmas Eve. Their Elves will go to see Santa tonight and be put up in their boxes for another year. Wosh...I'm glad I have all the wrapping and Neil has completed their final treasure hunt cards for their final present. John Wesley was so disappointed last year when he didn't get a WII but then he had one final present which had a note and a treasure hunt. It was so funny watch watch him scramble to find the next clue to lead him to his...you guessed it WII. This year it will be their IPODs. I know what I will be doing all day Christmas...loading music. Say I prayer I figure it out. I'm so glad that Dad is here to share the holidays again. The kids love to have Grandpa around even if it's just to watch Adrianna draw and play with dolls and John Wesley play his video games. They are thrilled...so I'm I. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas.
Hard Drive Crash
Well I'm without a computer. We took it into Best Buy to the GEEK Squad on Monday and put in a new video card because my photoshop Elements was working very slow and they thought it might be the video memory. Took it home didn't see any improvement. Took it back Tuesday and left it overnight for them to run tests and check it out. I went at lunch on Wednesday to see about picking it up and what we needed to do and it said the hard drive CRASH!! UGH!! Pictures, my scrapbook pages, Disney stuff...oh my! I did by a 1TB Book for backup the day after Thanksgiving on our road trip back from Disney World BUT didn't do the back up yet. Needless to say I did do a pretty good back up about the first week of November and luckily all our Adult Disney World photo's are still on my passport from the trip. This could of been very ugly. Always Backup!! I had to call HP to get them to send me a recover disk and it will be here tomorrow so they an now add a 500GB new Hard Drive and load the operating system. Lesson learned. I can't do any of my STUFF at night now when the kids go to bed. Needless to say I'm getting more stuff done around the house. Probably a good thing. Between work and no computer and home I can't get any of my shutterfly stuff done either. Oh well a light is at the end of the tunnel. I know what I will be doing this weekend. Restore and backup. :)
Christmas Cards are coming
Well Neil's son came up for the weekend and I was able to get my photo's to complete our Christmas Card. I'm so excited to see how they turned out. I order them on Saturday night and they are already in the mail back to me. I wanted to be sure to get the free shipping from Shutterfly. I posted it as one of our header pictures. I used Photoshop elements and freebie templetes and wordart and I think it turned out very nice. The other santa photo's were taken at school and I simply bought the picture CD with the copyright. Makes it easier for all the things I like to do. Hope everyone has a great evening. It's freezing here! Stay warm.
Back From Disney World
Well we are finally back home and somewhat unpacked and tired. Already starting my upload of pictures to Shutterfly to start my NEW Adult Only Disney Vacation book. I'm excited to be working on another book. I'll work on it everynight until it's done as I'm impatient and can't wait to see the finished product. We had a GREAT time!! Crowds were a little thick but without kids we didn't have to stress whether we were able to ride a ride or catch a character although we did manage to do both. Still had over 350 photo's on my photopass so I will be working on that project as well over the next week. I took around 2,000. We also decided after much thought and consideration to join the Disney Vacation Club!! Wosh! I'm so excited. We will return in Sep 2009 for our first trip back "HOME." I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving as I received many well wishes but I wasn't near a computer to send a return. Thank you so much. I hope all of you have a great and wonderful holiday season!
Busy Weekend and 3 more days until Disney World!!
Well it's been a busy weekend and first few days. The kids were both sick with some type of virus up all night. I kept John Wesley home yesterday as he was not feeling good all night. It seems like the clock is going Tick Tock until Friday. Neil and I are so excited to be going to Disney World. It will be a first without the kids. Adult time...yeah!! Well it's off to get the kids, dance tonight, Neil heads to Nashville tomorrow for a new Job Interview (wish him luck) and the teacher has asked me to take pictures on Thursday for the Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast. Wosh... I'll be glad when it's Friday.
09 Nov 08 Fall Fun
Well yesterday before getting the lawn mower out to mulch all the beautiful leaves I had the kids go out and play. They has so much fun and another golden opporunity for Mom to take pictures. I love fall colors!
Election Day
Well the weekend is finally over and I think I have started to catch up on sleep. Disney on Ice was a lot of fun. The kids really enjoyed seeing all the characters again. Although it's not like being at Disney World with the one on one character interaction. Today is election day so be sure to get out there and VOTE!
Halloween
Well Halloween is finally here and November is around the corner. This month as flown by... I sent the kids today to school with goody bags for their classmates although they can't dress up or celebrate Halloween I thought they could at least have a little fun pack. We have a very busy weekend planned. Disney on Ice on Saturday afternoon and then a wedding to attend. Then I have to go into work at 2300 hrs until 0800...ugh!! Then Monday morning in at 0430 until 1300 hrs. Say a prayer I won't fall asleep on the way home. We went to the Fall Festival at the church Wednesday and the kids had a ball. Too much fun and candy. Ready for the weekend to pass. 21 days to our Adult only DISNEY Trip!! I'm sooo ready.
Halloween, Anniversary, Disney World Countdown
Well after ordering costumes from Chasing Fireflies on the 9th of September yesterday I finally got John Wesley's Indiana Jones costume. Unforunately I will not order from them again. After several unanswered e-mails and phone calls I was not very happy with their customer service. The other costume for next years Disney trip is beautiful...Queen of Hearts. Worth the wait but not the hassle. Today is Neil and I's anniversary and taking the day off to spend some US time while the kids are at school. Since I finally got John John Wesley's costume in yesterday I tortured the kids with a photo shot...ha-ha. Too cute. More Halloween photos and events will be coming over the next 2 weeks. Enjoy. I'm so glad fall is here and 30 days until Adult trip to Disney World...YEAH!
Busy Fall
WOW...it's been awhile since I have updated and changed out pictures. I've been working so hard on my Soccer sharesite I have let this one go to the way side. I wanted to add some new header photos that I took a few weeks ago of the kids. We are busy with homework everynight, soccer practice 2 nights a week, dance 1 night a week and soccer games on Saturday. Wosh..I'll be glad when Christmas break comes. We are heading to the pumpkin patch this weekend so look for new photos coming your way. I love FALL it's my favorite time of year and always help me to get the best photos.
First Day of School
This morning was John Wesley and Adrianna's first day of school. John Wesley starting second grade and Adrianna starting Kindergarten. I walked with them this morning down from daycare to the school. Happily taking pictures all the way. John Wesley of course being the old hat at this walks in the front door and straight down to his classroom before mom even gets to give him a hug or one last picture. Adrianna had to go into the gym to line up with all the new kindergarten students with their new teacher. Mrs. Pridgen gave Adrianna her name tag and then Adrianna told me I could go now...ugh! My little girl and boy are growing way to fast.
