It has been one week since our first event -
The First Annual Mother's Day and Family Free Bowl - and I'm still relishing in it's success. It was a great pleasure to organize an event with DJ Keith O and Daly City Council Member David Canepa. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that
Classic Bowling Center had graciously donated ALL 60 lanes on Mother's Day for our event. Because of theirs and many others donations, we were able to provide the whole event for
FREE to our community. Aside from celebrating the motherly figure in our lives, we wanted to also provide a free and safe activity for our community. This was not your ordinary bowling event we provided glow-in-the-dark bracelets to go along with our
GLOW-IN-THE-DARK bowling. As if free bowling was not enough, we also provided other free activities such as a card making station, a poster where attendees could write down why they love their mother, a photo memento station and we gave a carnation donated by Paul's Flowers in Colma to every mother who attended. Also, I can't forget to mention how we had many wonderful giveaways. We gave away Burgermeister coupons, potted flowers, candies, 5 Myxx Mash T-Pain concert tickets, two bowling balls, 2 months of tae kwon do lessons for a family of up to 4 from DeLucca's Tae Kwon Do school, a $20 giftcard from Kim's Nails, 2 gift cards for $20 to Outback, etc. It was amazing to see all the lanes filled for both of our time slots: 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. All I've heard from people is how much fun they had and how they were glad that they could go out and participate in an activity instead of staying home and watching t.v. All the hard work we put in was well worth it to see the smiles on people's faces and to hear the laughter and joy. Become a fan of this event by going to facebook and searching for
