Dancers of the Desertis is the award winning resident belly dance troupe of Novato Parks & Recreation, directed by Aneena of Novato, CA, winning trophies at the Belly Dancer of the Year competition 6 years in a row, winning the coveted 1st place award in 1991.

Dear friends, family, loved ones:
Well, it is holiday season and most of us are celebrating something, whether it be Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, general kindness -- the winter time everywhere is for looking inward and a clearing of the old year, fresh resolve to do better, to be better, in the coming year. For some of us, this is a very stressful time and it is something to just "get through."
I hope this video will give you a moment of happiness. Many of you have probably already seen this video I'm sending below, but I love the idea of it.....of creating a moment of delight with a beautiful piece of music in the middle of a food court (ugh) - making music transcends language, political and religious differences and gives us a common bond of appreciation for the sheer artistry of the human voice and our collective ability to make music anywhere and at anytime.......
So I wish you all peace and good health in the new year and may whatever trials and tragedies touched you this year -- well, may 2011 repay you with more laughter, health and joy in your life and in the lives of the people you love.
Liz
