Welcome

I am excited about sharing our life's journey with our loved ones!  Be patient with me as I am still building this site.  I picked this picture from Myrtle Beach, you may or may not know it is a dream of ours to be located at the ocean someday!  Make your comments and share with us anytime!  Don and Bev

Latest news

The Valley

As we approach the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior the Zuvers' family finds ourselves in a valley.  We are being sifted, sanded, disciplined and pruned riding us of all that would hinder us from climbing up to or living on the mountain top. Taken from "The Source of My Strength by Charles F. Stanley.  Andrew, Alexandar and Tanner have been missing since Nov. 26th, given to someone by their father, who is now in jail for parental kidnapping.  We are humbled by all the support and outpouring of love we have received from the law enforcement agencies, the community, and the entire nation!  We can never say enough to thank them all!!  Hold your children close, hug them tighter, spend time alone with each one and if you are a grandparent make the phone call or visit.  Life is precious , we can never take each other for granted, but be available to one another.  Praying for the boys and Tanya.

Catching Up!

A lot is going on with the family and life.  Enjoying full retirement and trying to balance all of life is a new and exciting challenge for Don and I.  Family seems to be the focus of our day to day activity.  Developing a stronger relationship with my God and Savior is the number one most important thing in life.  Forgiveness and letting go of anger are the most recent challenges I have had to face.  We have renewed our camping experiences with family and friends and enjoy it so as the season is over for now we are already making plans for 2011 and starting again on Easter weekend.  Taking a fall color tour with Jack & Georgia is high on the list for a most memorable and favorite thing we accomplished this year.  Thank you for including us Jack and Georgia, you are great family and friends!

So much to share!

Spring & Summer have passed we have enjoyed spring & summer sports and now are into the fall ones (which I have not enjoyed so much with the cold & rain!).  Lenawee fair showed great success for JD showman champion!  Jarrett is a proud owner of a steer he will show next summer!
Surgery & recoveries for Merlin - hip replacement and still not back to work, he was the one exception to have healing complications; Dad for a partial hip replacement and he did fairly well, has to use a walker now; Shirley for a knee replacement, then a fall broke the replacement so back to surgery for her; Carol for one partial and one full knee replacement; Tennille for knee repair work and back to work in one wk. front desk work only!  Now Robert facing shoulder surgery.
We have lost many loved ones from the community and extended family and so we have grieved with many.
An emergency trip to Florida to join Jenny & family for a possible heart issue w/Todd.  Delayed their vacation a few days, but not heart or lung issue!  Stubborn son-in-law has not done follow yet!
We have celebrated the commitment to the Lord and baptism for all of Tennille's family and will witness the same with Jenny's family next weekend!!!  Thank you Jesus.
Just last week we attended the marriage of JJ Topps and Amber; what a beautiful wedding and then yesterday attended the 10th birthday party for Michelle Topps Desgranges son and are now planing more get togethers to get all of us back together!!!  Even camping next season!
Mom is slipping away more and more in her mind and we have good and bad days.  She is not eating well again and has an aide with her to be sure she swallows her food, but she once again shows signs of malnutrition.
Spending more time with Pokey by meeting at halfway points, she was ill and had to cancel yesterday's meet, so will reschedule that for Nov.
Don continues to work and wants retirement so badly, 61 is just too soon for us; and of course it does not help having me able to be home and not working!  He forgets many would love to have a full time job!!!
I am 40 lbs. lighter today than I was on Jan. 1, 2009!  Now to loose just a few more and maintain the loss!!  Health and long life is my goal!
Lots of new pics posted today.
Love to all, hope to keep updates more recent going forward.

Thursday 4-16-09

What a great afternoon to be outside!  I was able to clean some more yard, re-paint some of my critters I place in my beds and then Don took the ships wheel off the fence so I could re-stain it.  Can't wait for the flowers to bloom to put some color in my beds!  I plan to add some more perinnials this year; it sure makes gardening so much easier!  We will be putting in more vegtables too as space allows; trying to beat some of the rising costs!  I even cleaned another area here in my basement this morning; I am going to get all these areas organized by summer yet!  Started working out in the a.m. today; thanks to Jenny's encouragement this morning.  I have way too many lbs. to take off the body of mine!  If I am going to live to be 110 (my personal goa) I better start eating right!  Take care love to all, have a great weekend.

Easter Sun. 4-12-09

I feel a very strong need to journal as we end our day of celebrating the ressurection of Christ.  I am adopting this pharse for my Easter message this year:  "Because He lives, I CAN face tomorrow.  Reflect on it and see if it speaks to you too.

I am feeling sad and should not be, it is just that yesterday Gary picked Dad up at 5:30 a.m. to drive to Toledo for Dad to recieve a new pacemaker, which went very well and maybe 30 min. max!

My sadness is for Mom, she did not know who Gary was and Dad had to tell her.  This is really the first time she has not know one of us kids, she has confused our names but never not recognized us.  In her mind I know she is leaving us and this is what makes me sad.

On Fri. when we stopped in she told me how someone did not know who but 2 little girls and their Mother had been there.  She knew they had played games together and that they went back to her room.  She thinks they took her bunny home with them and can't remember that Dad gave it to them.  It was my Jenny, Maizy and Maxie, and when Maizy saw the bunny she said, "Oh Mom we shouldn't take this it is so big."  Jenny replied, "Maizy if we don't take it, Grandpa will just give it to someone else."  I understand that Mom can't begin to know anymore which grandchildren are there to visit, it's enough to know she knows them as family.

What makes me sad is what she said to me, "I wish more of them would stop in to see us."  To the Cochrane grandchildren I have this to ask, "Please if you get a moment or two, just stop in to see your grandparents and please bring those great grandchildren to see them."  I know all of you have not always been close, but that is the past and this is now.

Do not let her mind leave us so far that she will not know you are her family.

Don is anxious to take our dogs for a walk, so I will sign off for now, Happy Easter, I love you all.

Spring Update

I have joined fb and do most of my journaling their for the family; but have many of you who enjoy this site better.  Sorry I have not been faithful.  Take a look at the new pics of our Palm Sun. weekend gathering and sleepovers for our Easter celebration with the Zuvers'

I am cleaning house for U. Russell now every other week and that is working well.

Josh, (Brittany's) hubby is in VA and is so lonely without her!  He is hoping to be here over Memorial!

Courtney graduates in May and the Open House will be on the 16th and the elementary cafeteria.

My Dad gets a new pacemaker on Sat. the 11th at 8 a.m. in Toledo hopital.  Should be a routine outpatient procedure and then back to the Manor.

Sister Carol had her knee cap replaced about 4 wks. ago and is doing very well.  Sister in law Shriely had the full knew replaced about 7 1/2 wks. ago and is doing pretty well; lots of pain yet and uses a walker.

I am getting my flower beds ready for May!  Can't wait, I put out al my critters today, with rain coming tomorow I am going to be forced to work inside!  Groceries to buy yuck!

Time to get off this computer and get up to do some vegging out before bed.

Happy Easter all!

Update Fri. evening

Since my last journal we have experienced the tragic death of Teresa Pontious a co-worker of our son-in-law Robert and a life long community resident.  Also, Michael Vinecki lost his battle with cancer, very close friend of Karri and James.  We grief for the losses and yet rejoice in the life and memories these two have left here on earth.

Tanya, Courtney and I made the trip to Lewiston on Wed. morning and then over to the visitation in Gaylord.  It was a very personal viewing at the Vinecki home; a slide show and many albumns showed just how full Michael lived his life and how much he was loved!

Courtney had her Mom and I stay over in the Derby cabin in Lewiston so we could get a good night's rest before driving back home.  Courtney is a great hostesses and the cabin was very warm and pleasant.  Thank you to Courtney and her family for opening it up to us.

I will have the pictures posted her yet tonight and a viedo too!

Don's sister is 4 weeks out from knee replacement surgery and is still unable to drive so I am kept busy with taxing her and U. Russell around.  Out patient therapy begins on Mon. and hopefully she will graduate to a cane.

I am itching to get out in the flower beds and yard to begin the spring cleaning and pruning!  I researched today to be sure I do not get ahead of the game and do things right.  I have butterfly bushes to nurse; hydrangeas and a lawn that needs shocking back to a full yard with out damage from the grubs and dogs!

My paper crafting is suffering and I do need to get some things worked up for upcoming classes.

Joy & Sadness

Joy over such a good family weekend as we celebrated 25 years of marriage for Lonnie & Julie Vanderpool.  We saw and chated with many family & friends.  A great breakfast with Jenny & family, Tennille, Dallas, RyLee & Kennadi, Brittany & Andrew.  Then a visit from Courtney before everyone got out of Morenci.

Sadness for Cherie as she experiences yet another loss in her life; her 98 yr. old Mother passed sometime Fri. night.  Even though this was expected Cherie still has to say goodbye to her Mother and friend of many years and fill yet another void in her life.

Don says there are storms in our area as a tornado was cited in Fort Wayne In. so I will shut down for the evening.

Thurs. 3-5-09

Busy, busy sums it all up! Doing morning chores everyday for Shirely as she continues to rehab from knee replacement. Running U. Russell to Dr. appointments, Shirley to her follow up care and now Don! He had his follow up for A. Fib and coumadin today and now he has to see Dr. Kattar on Mon. as the EKG still shows him in A. Fib. When we got home aroung 7 p.m. the recorder has a message from his primary Dr. and I can bet he wants to see Don after getting the results from the stress test, EKG and MRI. Interesting Don does not even experience any of the symptons (fluttering, rapid heartbeats or light headed). When going through all of this with my parents a couple of years ago, I commented that I wanted to become a professional waiting room sitter! I really do think there could be $$ to earn in this area.
Trying to keep up with paper crafting and classes; I really need to step it up a bit here.  I need more attending and yet with the economy and so many layoffs it is a struggle!
I will be updating my websites with current cards and pages, stop by to take a look see.
We are excited to have Jenny, Todd and the girls coming home this weekend for the 25th anniversary surprise party and to have all 4 of Tennille's kids too!

Oh my!

I have been neglecting this site!  My apologies!  We are doing great; just busy with so many things!  Yes, I have the winter blahs along with everyone else and can't wait for March to get here so we can slide into Spring!  I love working outside and want to get the twigs and branches cleaned out of the yard that have fallen from all the winter stroms that hit us.  I am off to get ready to take Uncle Russell to a follow up Dr. appointment.  Shirley is in rehab after successful knee replacement surgery and so I am filling in for her with him.  I am also feeding Vinney, Sam and all the outdoor cats every morning for her.  A funeral dinner to do tomorrow for a 46 yr. old man with succomb to cancer on Sun. afternoon.  I will try to get out here to update pictures and business specials!  Have a great week.

10 Days and running out of time!

Oh my, it always hits me on this Sun. every year that I have run out of weeks to prepare for the hoidays!  I have an order to complete and have 16 cards left to finish it up!  My cards still need some assembling and envelopes addressed (I am thankful for having the addresses on a label file!).  I need to purchase the stamps yet too!

I have not journaled here yet on how the trip to Grove City went!  The trip down was a bit stressful; the closer I got to Columbus I hit freezing rain and then black ice!  I stopped counting after 9 accidents some of which I still think of and wonder if those involved are okay or was their tragedy.  When I excited 270 onto 315 I hit the black ice and went into a spin into the passing lane; still spinning I was back in the slow lane and off the road.  How thankful I was to realize how God is in control when I could see no traffic in either direction for apporximatley 1/4 mile!  Then as I was pulling myself together I realized I needed to get back on the hwy.  I was able to rock the car and back up; but by now the traffic had picked up; amazingly enough the last car in the on-coming traffic noticed me and came to a stop so I could pull out without any incident!  Praise God, he is so wonderful!  (side note:  I am not telling my parents this happened, this is one thing they worry about more since Bob's accident).

The weekend with Dean and Pokey was awesome!  Seeing little Ethan with Santa and having my camera along to take pictures for them was a true blessing for me.  It takes special grandparents and parents to allow a cousin to share in such a special moment.  Doing the cards on Sun. went so well and I have met some new friends; Linda and I hit it off and she has two wonderful daughters.  Spending Mon. with Pokey was so nice to just walk around the stores chatting and making a few purchases!  The meal at Chipotles for the first time was extra special as the manager paid for our lunches!  Can't beat that!  Then to top it all off we shared a chocolate bing; we even included Mary (Pokey's Mom) with sugar free chocolates!

I drove home on Tues. and that was with heavy rain and fog but the visalbility was up to a half mile so I was not so stressed.  By Wed. I just needed to get the house here in order and put up some decorations.  On Thurs. I spent most of the day with Tennille, she is making a grave blanket for her father-in-law and we shopped for it.  On Fri. I finished up one order of all occasion cards and then off to shop for our final Christmas gifts with Don.  We drove his truck and while backing out of a parking spot he hit a cement pole; it took out the drivers side tail light but with a patch up job it will work on this old truck!  He parks it out at his sister's farm now and drives it occasionally as he has taken over my Buick.

Sat. we enjoyed Jenny and the family at the Water Splash Motel in Shipsawanna, celebrating the girls birthdays.  Maizy 9 and Maxie 6.  Then home to help Ashlyn with a school project and then off to the annual Christmas Party hosted by Don's shop.

Today was pretty normal and ended with the Zuvers' getting together to make grave blankets and then out to eat pizza.

Pictures will be uploaded from all soon.

Where Have I Been?

It has been a busy two weeks since I last posted.  We had the Zuvers' Thanksgiving on Nov. 22nd hosted by Kristy, Scott and Natalie, you did a great job!  It seems we all had a very good time and I see some great pictures on The Shaffer Family site!   On Nov. 21st at 11:59 a.m. Uncle Richard passed away, this is Mom's brother and it was a sad time of saying good-bye.  Also my sister-in-laws father, Doug Boyd passed away on Mon. the 18th.  We spent the beginning of last week attending their visitations and funerals.  Mom and Dad were here for Thanksgiving dinner along with Tanya, John and the boys.  Then later in the day Jenny, Todd & the girls arrived home for the weekend and the Cochrane Christmas.  On Fri. she was off shopping Todd & the girls spent time with the Sutherlands and I spent the day preparing for the Cochrane Christmas.  In the wee hours of Sat. morning the flu hit me and hit hard.  I missed the entire day celebrating with all of my family and it was sad for me.  Chanatal and the kids stayed over to be with the family and that is always special to have them with us.  I have heard the kids had a great time painting and embellishing T-shirts and even a sweat shirt for Grandma C.  The gift exchange for the kids was done after a huge meal of ham & turkey with all the trimmmings.  The adults then did the pick a gift with the opportunity to steal someone else's that had already been opened and of course there is always one or two gifts that everyone wants!  I am finally able to eat pretty well and stay awake for more than two hours at a time!  I hear that the flu traveled home to Indiana, hit the Waters' household in the wee hours of Sun. morning.  I pray no one else gets this it really gets you down!  Don has finally seen his pulmonary doctor it has been two years and he now has a new mask for his breathing machine and is using a higher pressure.  This means his sleep apnea is somewhat worse; but treatable as long as he uses the machine and gets 8 hrs a night on it!  I am going to try to put some new pics. out here, I have not even seen the ones from the Christmas yet, but I understand there were lots taken.  Stay healthy and happy per-holiday preparations!

Snow and Cold

It has been a slow week; and we are now experiencing the first blast of cold winter days!  It is dark by the time we sit down to eat our evening meal; we seem to be going to bed early as this effects our need to rest.

We have had a great week that has been pretty laid back.  The house was clean from the weekend and so I put lots of time in down in the craft areas to prepare for my Christmas Card Workshop on Sat.  It was a success and once again I have gained a new customer!

On Sun. Shirley and I assisted with a 4-H workshop to show the members how to do a pine cone wreath.  It has been years since I have done one and it has sparked me to want to do one before Christmas!  I have to say all the 14 that attended were the best group I have helped teach, they were ages 12 and up.  All caught on real fast and made great looking wreaths.  The 2 hr. session stretched into 3 hrs. but all of us were very pleased with end results.  I wll be happy to judge these when the show up at the fair next summer.

Don's plant is beginning to experience the slow down of incoming work and is now cutting back on the long hours of 11-12; but still doing 9 hrs a day.  This happens every year about 6 weeks before Christmas and so I am not too concerned just yet.  Some of the workers feel this is a trickle down effect from the situation the nation is in.

This morning I received word that Cherie's father has passed away at 99 years young.  The family will be coming from Virginia and Hawaii so the arrangements are pending.

I logged on to Cherie Cast this morning while working on a couple of card orders and listened to Cherie and Todd.  I have been left with a very neat motto to ponder on from Cherie:  "Life Like a Rock Star."  If you would like to listen in sometime log on to   http://www.cheriecast.com/.

I am planning a trip to Grove City to Pokey and Dean's for the 30th of Nov. through the 2nd of Dec.  We will be doing Christmas Cards while there and then spending Mon. off doing girl things!  I am very excited about this adventure.

I hear the dryer calling me so I am off to do my household duties.

What's New since the 9th

I am late getting last weeks events posted!  The "Family Workshop" went very well.  However, I slept in Sat. morning until 7:45, just 15 min. before the event was to begin!  Of all mornings, Don picked that one not to wake me!  It was okay, Kristy S. was the first to arrive at around 9 p.m. so while she was sitting up I showered!  Tanya did not arrive until after lunch to begin her projects.  Both Kristy and Tanya worked on Christmas gifts and were quite pleased with their results.  Sorry no pictures of the final projects!  I worked on Christmas Cards and can now begin to sign and address them!  You have to check out the "Favorite Picture" Section to see John working with the kids on woodworking projects!  The potluck was attended by:  Waters Family, Skelton Family, RyLee & Kennadi McCain, Brittany & Josh Taylor, Courtney Derby and the Double Children she was babysitting, Shaffer Family, Uncle Russell Z., Roxie A., Merlin & Bonnie Zuvers and of course Don and I.  Stopping by to visit were Londa Pickles, Ali, Joe and DJ Ott, and Joseph Vanderpool.  Shirley Vanderpool arrived at 10 p.m. just minutes after the last family left.  Staying overnight were Kennadi & RyLee.  I do have to mention I was a bit disappointed that no one from my side of the family attended.  No one returned on Sun. to work, so we had a routine morning.  When I arrived home from church Tennille was here to hang out and Don had gotten a call from Shirley that U. Russell was having some bleeding.  He will be having a colonoscopy Wed. afternoon and I will journel on that later in the week.  Other family members experiencing health issues are Mary Waters (Pokey's mother) with pnemonia and receiving a pace maker on Mon.  Jack Zuvers doing very well after his eye surgery, I need to log on to the Shaffer Site to see what report he got at the follow up appointment today.  Dad is looking and feeling much better since having another episode of pnemonia and Mom will be going back to the dermatologist next Wed. for more freezing and removal of another basal cell carcinoma.  Have a great week and check back in next week for more happenings in the Zuvers' household!

More Fall Activities

Friday began with Tanya and the boys arriving here to help with the cleaning and set up of the garage.  Don was home by 2:30 Andrew & Alex then went to the back yard to help with the leave raking and blowing the getting to play in the piles!  (see pictures under favorites).  Tanner came with Tanya and I to the store and fell fast asleep (see picture).  Shirley & Uncle Russell, Karri & Jarrett joined us for the hot dog roast before the Trick or Treating began at 6.  We had some really neat visitors (see Halloween Night album) including John McCain and Sara Palin!  It was great to see the new babies, Adam & Hudson what cute boys! (see pictures).  Jarrett and Andrew stayed over Fri. and again on Sat. night and what a treat they are!  You have to check out the Fort pictures, we had a great time making for them!  Today, Sun. we had the weekly breakfast at the Village, I left for worship and Don and the boys did the rest of the leaves.  After I picked them up to leave to get Grandma C. and Grandpa C. to meet Carol & Larry at the Barn.  Maybe Grandpa could have stayed in but the Dr. said to just bundle up warm and it would be okay.  He sounds very bad when he coughs, his wheezing is deep and he seems to tire fast.  I will plunge head long into the preparations for the "Family Workshop" and potluck.  Don't forget it is this coming Sat.  Anyone coming long distance can stay over Fri. and/or Sat. night.  Crafting begins Sat. at 8 a.m. and the potluck is at 6 p.m.  I sure do hope family members who do not craft will join us for the potluck!  I am going to have my camera aimed the entire weekend so don't do anything you won't want in print!  LOL  Have a great week!

Fall Happenings

One of my favorite times of the year is the expectation of Trick or Treaters coming by for treats.  Shared with Aunt Shirley and Uncle Russell we get around 75 stopping to be treated by 3 stations.  We even have doggie treats for the dogs that come dressed up!  We begin by having supper ready for all the grandchildren and parents to make it a bit easier for them to get ready.  This year the trick or treat begins at 6 p.m. on Firday night.  Traditionally I have made up special bags for family and close neighbors and friends, that I have to be careful to pass to them without other treaters noticing!  We have the camera ready to take several pics for the scrapbook and now I can post here for all to see!  I have cards ready to mail out today and do not have to mail any packages out since Todd and Jenny will be home on Sat.  That will be special to be able to give the girls their treat bags!

Yesterday we found out that Dad is experiencing another bout with the pneumonia and he will be treated at the Manor as they have caught it early.  I am beginning to believe this will be somethin he experiences the rest of his life.  Mom is doing so well with the hearing aides, she is more alert and understanding of what is going on.  Thank you Pete for taking the time to clean her aides and get the batteries needed!

I continue to prepare for my classes and have increased in attendance; we have a great time and I keep the cost as low as the expense allows me too!  Please join us sometime it is good social time too.

Don't forget that on Sat. Nov. 8th we are opening up our home to all family members to come craft!  Any project you want to work on is acceptable.  Also, at 6 p.m. all family members are invited to join us for a potluck meal.  Dress warm as we will have the gargage set up to seat everyone.  I am not planning on bringing Mom or Dad here, since it will be too cold and inconvient for them to be comfortable.  You do not have to be a crafter to join us to eat and socialize!  I just feel we need to as families get together and enjoy each other.

I hope all are having a good week and not catching any of the flu bugs that are going around.  God Bless, Bev

JD's Last Football Game

Since Karri did not have her camera focused in this afternoon; Grandma Bev took lots of pictures for her to choose from.  I will edit out some of these once she has had a chance to upload to her site.  Great game and oh so cold in the last 15-20 min. of the game.  You can view the score in the pictures both at half time and again at the end of the game.

Fall Activities

We have had an awesome weekend!  Check out the new pictures from our Pumpkin Patch adventure 2008!  Great Grandpa and Great Grandma C. joined us for the fun this year!  After eating at Smith's we drove to south of Hudson to a Garden Center turned into a Pumpkin Patch to support the Hudson Schools Karri & James' boys attend.  As you can tell we all had a very good day.  I am sure the two are exhausted but both expresse they had a good day.  They even got to see Jacob at the car wash before leaving Wauseon this morning!  Fir. night we watched the West Untiy Cadets football game and Ashlyn with the band at halftime.  We have to get a video of this band to share they are awesome.  She will be raising $$ to go to New York next year to preform in the parade!  Don got to the 5th & 6th grade game for West Untiy on Sat. but left the camera home!  I had a Christmas Card Class that went very well!  I am still cleaning up my room for the next class on Tues.  We are going to have the Family Craft Weekend on Nov. 7th - 9th so watch for your letter in the mailbox coming soon!  Have a safe and wonderful week.  Love to all!

Family Workshp

I have had some positive feed back, so I am going forward with my projected plan to host a Family Workshop here at our home!

It will be Sat. Nov. 8th.  Plan to make cards; gifts; scrapbook; etc.  Share your own creations with us.  We are going to want to eat, so please bring snacks and drinks, your favorites.

For the men who will not be involved in our paper crafting, etc. maybe we can encourage them to plan a day activity for themselves.

Let's end the day with a family potluck planing to eat around 6 p.m. everyone will need to bring a dish to pass.  This should include all families, not just those who come to create!

For anyone wanting to stay over into the evening to continue working, I am open to that!
We will just crash whenever and wherever we can find a spot to lay our heads, or not sleep at all!  Bring your pillow and a blanket if you are staying over.

Sun. will be optional, breakfast out at the Village Inn is traditional all are welcome to join us there or fix your own here.  It would be great if we attend church services at 10:30; showers could be an issue, but I am betting Tanya would open up hers for us!  Want to continue working then lets go for it!  You set the time you want to end and head home for the weekend, I'm blocking the full two days out for this event!

If anyone needs to arrive on Fri. evening, we'll be prepared for that too!  I will be sending out flyers to all family members by the end of this week!

Can't wait, this sounds like so much fun!

Thursday evening update

Today was my day to go see Mom & Dad at the Manor in Wauseon.  They are doing so well now; they are getting such good care.  Mon has put on a few lbs. she is up to 104 and Dad is up over 200 and had to have new jeans for his waist size!  Good for Mom, not so good for Dad.  After doing some volunteer work in the office; the three of us along with Jo (another volunteer) went over to the hospital cafeteria to eat, a minor highligt of their week.  At home I did some work on the yard and drive to keep up with the fall cleaning.  Don is working on making a really neat water display for the back yard.  He made a deal with his sister to obtain a hand pump; he has painted it in "M" colors; Joe O. will love it!  Tanya and John drilled holes in the glass blocks for Sherrie H. and I; so I will be getting some of those done before the holidays.  I have taken on a challenge to loose 5 lbs. by the end of this month, eating less and exercising are all I am doing to see how it goes.  I am doing this with my buddy, Pokey.  She and I are going to hold each other accountable.  That is about it; have a good weekend.  More later.

Fall Weather

Good morning, as you see we are having one of those fall mornings where you just want to cuddle up with a warm blanket and a good book!  I do love the fall and the change of our seasons; we are looking for 70's later this week and I am sure I will be outside working on those fall projects.  I have spent this week working on my class offerings and love the new colors and sets I have to work with.  Check out my Ink Beneath Our Stamps for samples of what I am teaching this month.  In my projected plan is to set up a family workshop where we can all get together to stamp, scrape, create, eat and laugh.  No fees just come and enjoy each others talents!  What do you think?

Back to the Grind

What have we accomplished today!  Well, at least Don put in a full day at the job; and Bev, well she did get some things cleaned in the basement but mostly hung out trying to make this website.  Don and I are also working on cleaning out the garage for the upcoming Halloween and Trick or Treat.  It is an annual tradition to set up in our garage with other family members who do not have trick or treaters come to their homes and pass out goodies.  I prepare food for all the grandchildren and Mom' and Dad's so they do not have to do this before coming over!  Don and I are late watching Dancing With the Stars so more tomorrow.  Bev

Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008

The latest from the family journey would have to be the girls weekend away!  We had bumps and bruises getting this off the ground but in the end everyone had a good time.  This year was spent at the Ramada Inn in Montpeiler OH, with pedicures and manicures done in Bryan OH and a trip to Fort Wayne for the Vera/Bradley sale!  (way overrated by the way; they are now producing purses out of the country to my dismay!).  The Olive Garden was the choice for dining and then back to the Ramada for relaxation and dancing to the band from a wedding reception!  (what a hoot).  Sensored pictures are being loaded to this site next.

Herbalife Distributor

Hebalife is a meal replacement plan I have been on since April and have lost 40 lbs!  I love sharing this healthy way of eating!

Paper Craft Business

This is my passion to share with others my love of paper crafting.  Classes have been put on hold until a future date.
