Holiday Cruise Sydney to Auckland, New Zealand

Cruise to New Zealand Dec 2008

Day 1

Left home in the morning and flew to Sydney. Booked into the Travelodge Wynyard and then went sightseeing around Darling Harbour.

Day 2
More sightseeing and also scouted out MS Volendam which had arrived in the morning. Then at 3pm we boarded MS Volendam. Easy to check in, had our photos taken for ID and went to our cabins.

At 6.30 pm left Sydney and set off for Melbourne.

Day 3
At sea all day, a bit of a swell but nothing bad. Checked out the bars, lounges, dining room, restaurants.

Day 4
Arrived at Melbourne in the morning and took the tram to the city. Wandered around the Victoria market, had lunch and went back to the ship. In the evening set sail across Bass Strait.

Day 5
Arrived at Burnie, Tasmania and took the shuttle bus into town. There we had a car hired which we picked up. There were 4 of us, Denise and I and friends Willie and Rosalie.

We drove to see 4 gardens in the vicinity of Burnie, very lovely tour we had and a lot cheaper then the tours arranged by the Ship.
