It is good to see Desert High is still out there. How is the Class of 1968-69?
I dragged my husband out to a Reunion in Lancaster; I guess it was in 2000. Seeing everyone was so great and it was just like old times. It was great. Even my husband, John Courage had fun.
Has anyone heard from Carla Mathison? I don't see any recenct pics of Dave Demek. Is he ok?
I do see something about T-shirts from Dave Stroman but am not sure if it's recent.
Well I am still in San Antonio. I am now working for the best company in the whole wide world and I feel so fortunate to be there, USAA. I hope some of you are members! Maybe I am working for you :-).
If any of you are on FACEBOOK, you might want to check out BratConnect. It allows you to put in when and where you were stationed and look for old friends.
Was looking at my old notes I left in 2000. Now the daughters are both married. We just had a grandbaby girl born last week (today is 4/11/11). Her name is Zada! Yay.
What does Desert High look like now?
Does anybody remember Jeff Arnett our student president getting up and protesting in a speech? I wonder whatever happened to him and his sister, Suzy Arnett.
My dad, Col. Gerhard Schriever (the base commander when we were there) is still alive and kicking. He still gets out and plays a little golf. He lives in Air Force Village in San Antonio.
My uncle, Gen. Bernard A. Schriever passed away a few years ago.
There was an interesting book written about him and many of the military people involved in the Space and Missle program. It was written by Neil Sheehan and it's called "A Fiery Peace in a Cold War: Bernard Schriever and the Ultimate Weapon,” It is a very interesting history lesson for the times when we were growing up.
Hope everyone is well and happy and I hope I'll hear about some of you soon.
Still sorta there
I know, how did I put this all in this area. Easy! I don't know how that got here, but tell me how to edit, move, amend, rectify, modify, refine or what eva them to the Right Place; whereever that may be!

The Long Journey Home
Greetings Fellow Scorps and Earthlings! Sandi has managed to Re-Find me, again! Thank God for Sandi!! BLUF - virus ate two computer systems and all email and personal datum, not lost, just not found! Still Living in Abalama, Huntspatch Division. All I can say is basically Desert was the place that I have lived the longest at; Five years is the next, so I have been on the move until retirement, retirement, finally from the US Army, 12 SEP 07! Yeah, LIFER. If I remember correctly, Ronnie "Donut Mile" Johnson went in about one year before me! I just found the site again; I am totally stunned at how wonderful and refreshed y'alluns look. I know that Tom and I are still Rockin'; still crazy after all these years. I am blessed to be able to take two young ladies, my Grand's; 16 Kee Kee, and 11, Brianna and daughter, 19, Shelby to FOOTBALL Games. Life has been Super! It's just been only Forty Seven years that I've been trying to make my way back home, but something always gets in the way! Like the US Army mostly; I ask to live here and they say NO Way Jose! Go There! Still rise at Zero Four Hundred, but now I walk around, check the weather and news, and get back in bed! Sara has demanded that I play Golf; I keep a set in the trunk, but everyone else is working! Something about ME invading HER territory, Ft. Home! Hmmm
So the Saga continues as the wayward child from the Desert continually, while often dialectically, inches towards returning from whence he Came, The Desert!
Party On! Hooah
