Got our offer accepted on a new home we want to build today.  Now we just need to sell our house in 3-4 months before the contingency is up.  Fingers crossed everyone.  Check out my video section for some entertainment from Hogan and Grant.  They have no idea I put these on here, so don't mention it to them or they will never forgive me!  I also included a video of Grant's journal of "The Dettman move." 

Wow is it seriously December already?  I am so not ready this year.  If you got my Christmas card and you're checking out the site you know that because my cards are much later than usual.  So sorry.  I did it in such a rush I'm not really as proud of them this year as most years.  I want to give a special shout-out to my nieces Ellie (my leg model in the photo....yes, it's a real leg.  You should have seen what she had to do to make it look like that) and Sydney for their help with the card this year.  Thanks girls.

 

We had a great year.  The boys played football this year (see photos by clicking on Various Photos tab and scrolling to bottom of page) and loved it.  Hogan's team made it to the finals and got to play on the High School team.  Unfortunately their star player got injured and they didn't win, but it was a great game.  Grant's team did really well too, only lost one game all season I think.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE DETTMAN FAMILY!

The boys are growing like weeds.  It's sad how fast they grow up.  I've posted their football photos, Grants recent 1/2 birthday, and Halloween.  Enjoy.

I have added some photos (see Various Photos) that Lexi took of the boys at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.  She is AWESOME!  I also added a few of their football photos, first day of school, my nephew's First Birthday party, etc.

Here is your Grant funny for the day:

Me:  "Grant, tell me something good that happened at school today and something bad that happened today" (thanks for this idea Nichole!)

Grant's response:  "Nothing bad happened today...............and that's a good thing."

Hogan turned 10 1/2.  We've been so sick I was a day late making his cake because I hadn't been to the store.  He's been drawing a lot of Sonic so Grant suggested that I make that.  I thought it was a great idea so that is what he got.  Not one of my better cakes, making a cake like that when still under the weather is not as much fun.  I think Hogan was pleased with it though.  To see all the Silly Cakes I've made go to the link above and click on Silly Cakes.

Where does the time go?  I can't believe that school is almost over for summer (although it seems like it will be a short summer!)  I've added a few of the recent books I've made, take a look if you have time.  They are at the bottom right of this page.  Just realized today that Hogan's half-birthday is just around the corner!  Guess I need to start researching cake ideas again.  I'm open to suggestions :o)

It's been a while.  We had a great Spring Break in Tennessee this year, check out the photos in the Spring 2009 tab above.  We're gearing up for Grant's birthday & the opening day of baseball this weekend.  Can't wait!

Hogan won his schools Spelling Bee today.  He studied a lot and worked really hard, so we were VERY proud of him!

My cards have been mailed so I added it to my Christmas Card gallery.  Check it out by clicking on the Christmas Card tab above.

I got back the photos that Lexi took of the boys and I'm so pleased with them!  The filmstrip above is just a few of them.  She took so many good ones I don't know how I'm going to choose!!!  Anyone that wants her number let me know, she is awesome!!

It's done!!!  We took the photos for the Christmas card this weekend and I even managed to make it and get it ordered too.  Watch your mailboxes in a few weeks, they will be coming soon!  I hope everyone thinks they are as funny as in the past.  I know my boys liked doing it a lot this year.  I told John I think this was the most fun they've ever had making our "traditional" card.

We went Trick-or-Treating with friends in another neighborhood this year.  The kids had a blast running from house to house!  Hogan was Commander Cody from Star Wars, and Grant was Indiana Jones.  To see a bigger picture of the ones above just click on the film strip and you will see an enlarged photo.

We also went to have the boys photos taken that morning. As soon as I get them back (1-2 weeks) I'll be sure to post some.  I can't wait to see them as I think she was getting some really good ones.  Especially Grant's face when I told him to smile like he saw a pretty girl, it was priceless!  We meet out at Stony Creek Farms and she took tons of photos in all different spots.  I'll probably have trouble picking which ones I want!

Looks like Grant has been replaced on the school website so I removed the link.  I guess he's no longer a superstar!

Every year I bake the boys a "silly cake" for their half birthday's.  Yet another tradition that I got myself into and can't get out of (like the Christmas cards).  I've found it's easiest to surprise the boys when it comes to the cakes.  They started picking ones that were way too hard for me so now I pick something I think they'll like and that I think I can handle.  When Hogan and Grant saw me working on this cake in the early stages they were convinced it was going to be Shrek.  When I was finally done I called Grant in to see his "Shrek" cake.  He was pleasently surprised to see it was Mario instead!

Wow, can you believe October is almost over?  We're all geared up and ready for Halloween.  Hogan is going to be a Clone Trooper and Grant is going to be Indiana Jones.  I can't wait to post photos.  It took some time but I even found a real leather jacket at a second hand store for Grant.  He looks so cute in it.

 

We went to the pumpkin patch this month and had our annual leaf jumping fun so check out the photos!
