More somber view of Croatia
Rijeka, a port town, is not one of the big tourist destinations in Croatia.
Remnants of their war for independence are scattered everywhere.

Every old landmark here has been turned into a chi-chi tourist hotel.
This tourist town is very different from Rijeka. Everything is beautiful - but consumable.
