Welcome to the DFF!
Welcome to the Dallas Fly Fishers Club website! The Dallas Fly Fishers is one of the most active clubs in the Southern region. We meet on the first Monday of the month at REI at 7 p.m. where we play host to some of fly-fishing's best guest speakers. During Daylight Savings Time, Jim Bridges, the DFF fly-casting instructor, conducts casting clinics from 6 - 7 p.m. We fish every Friday morning at different urban sites, and typically fish again on Saturdays. Visitors are always welcome!

Next Meeting-Monday, June 4, 2012 at REI Dallas-7 p.m.
Our Speaker will be Malcolm Duke His topic will be:
"The Art of Building the Bamboo Fly Rod"
Malcolm has been a member of the Dallas Fly Fishers since 1983. He has been fly fishing for 50 years, tying for 40 years and building fly rods for the past 20 years. Malcolm learned about making bamboo rods from DFF member Norm Goheen and a master rod builder, John Bradford. His tapers come from Bradford, Everitt Garrison and E. F. Payne and other master builders. All of the rods he builds use only the finest materials and components. He will talk about: what is bamboo, why use and fish with bamboo, equipment needed, how to build a rod and finish a rod and rod components. Do not miss this great presentation by a great craftsman and fly fisher.

The DFF is a local fly fishing club available to members and guests living in the Dallas, Texas and surrounding areas striving to promote the sport of fly fishing, fly tying, and rod building through education, courses, seminars, and monthly meetings.
Friday Fly Fishers meet each Friday morning to fish local, urban waters.
