Diamond Wire Farms - Chickens
Specialty Cochins
When we moved to Placerville, I got a few chickens "for eggs." This is your warning, Chickens are addicting. Once you discover Cochins, these lovable, little feather-legged "Sumos" will start filling every available space on your property. Cochins are docile, gorgeous, and filled with character. The are consistent layers of brown eggs. Even better, they lend themselves to some of the most varied colors and patterns in the poultry world. Diamond Wire Farms has been working to develop specialty colors in our Giant, Standard, and Bantam Cochins. Contact us for availability of pullets, chicks, and fertile hatching eggs.

Laying Flock
DWF is home to a small laying flock. We do not use production level birds. Our flock consists of Americanas, Barred Rocks, Cochins, Marans, and Road Island Reds. This combination of birds means each carton contains blue, green, brown, and chocolate colored eggs. If you live locally contact us about farm fresh eggs! $3/dozen or $4/18-pack.
Incubator Space
I have a small batch incubator that is constantly at work. Do you have a small local flock? Would you like to see what your own chicks would look like? Or have you been watching those hatching eggs on Ebay for months, but aren't quite ready to invest in your own incubator? Let me hatch your eggs! Contact me about hatching chicken, quail, duck, goose, and turkey eggs.
