Our Mission
...To get kids outdoors! We wish to advance environmental literacy. We wish to give kids more opportunities to explore the natural world around them, igniting their interests in the outdoors, and spurring them to take part in outside activities. We will do so by:
*establishing and nurturing community partnerships (our "Natural Resources")
*learning within and outside of the classroom walls, incorporating place-based instruction, experiential education, and constructivism;
*addressing the causes of, and preventing, "Nature Deficit Disorder," as coined by our favorite author, Richard Louv;
*getting dirty!

Our "Natural Resources"
The DFC does not follow an established curriculum! Instead, we focus our studies around the loves of our local experts - our "Natural Resources!" We ask them what they love to study, and then we study it, too - along with them! We try to find one for each session! Would you like to be a Natural Resource? Who We Are
We are a group of fun-loving Lin students who prove that you can live in intown Atlanta and all that nature has to offer. We are little urbanites who love to explore the environmental sciences, and come home with dirty fingernails every day!
