Welcome
Can You help my elderly husband and me identify these rookies and players from Spring Training 2008? I took these the first or second day of Spring Training when most of the players there were pitchers. My disabled husband could not get down to where I was taking photographs for him.
Players other than pitchers were there, however. Joe Torre is obvious, of course, (as was Scott Proctor and Tommy Lasorda whose photos are not shown here). Names on the jerseys' help identify some of the players in these and other photos - although even all of those are not readable in the photos.
As brand-new Dodger fans, we really can't be certain about identifying the rest. The photos on the Dodger Roster just aren't easy to compare to these candid ones, and many of the rookies never made it to the final roster.
Oh, and the two autographed baseballs are not known by us either. I know that one of the autographs is that of a tall, handsome African American Dodger who was working with the pitchers.
I want to complete a scrapbook of our trip for my husband, so would love the i.d. of these people. Thanks a bunch for any help you can give!
