Please help us find homes for these cats!
A dear friend of mine and animal rescuer in Alabama, Donna Goss, has been diagnosed with bone cancer. She'd heen having a lot of unexplained aches and pains over the past year but until last week, they didn't test for cancer. She finally had a full body scan which confirmed the cancer. At this writing, she knows she will be starting chemo within the next week but is finding out more every day. She's in a lot of pain and as such, can barely care for her rescues. Not to mention that once she starts chemo, it will be mandatory that she have few/no animals in the house. Currently she has about 25 lovely, indoor cats and kittens that will need to be placed ASAP or she is facing the decision of euthanizing them.
She has a variety of ages and colors: calicos, torties, white cats, gray, orange... some even declawed (she tried to pull from local high-kill shelters when she wasn't pulling them off the streets (feral or not)). Almost all of them are very loving and used to being indoor only. Can you help by taking one? If you can't help, maybe you know someone else that can? Even if only foster, they can be listed on petfinder and be adopted out. And they can be posted on Have a Heart's web site as well... Transport can be arranged if needed. Vetting can possibly be arranged as well.
Please let me know if you can help. Allison Graves: rescue@haveaheartanimalrescue.com or our new email: donnaskitties@yahoo.com
