Autumn in New England can't be beat

We are looking forward to Halloween, but I know that means that winter is right around the corner, and I am NOT looking forward to that!!!

In other news, homeownership is sometimes not all it's cracked up to be. We anticipated that when you own a home, there is always something that needs to be fixed. We just didn't realize that three or four things would happen all at once, and all of them would be "need-to-do-it-ASAP" items. UGH.

Finally Summer!!!

We are all settled into the new house and we really love the neighborhood. The fourth of July celebration was amazing, we can actually see the fireworks from our house and there is a big party right down the street at the beach!

I am looking to go back to work part-time, and I also registered with a casting office here in Boston. I don't have time to do theatre projects right now, but maybe I can get some short-term paid acting work (commercials, etc.) I really need to update my headshots, though!

The kids are great. Declan is ONE now and Annie is turning THREE! Yikes...

Dennis is happy because this is his "slow season" at work, so he is home on the weekends and he can even take some time off.

I'm loving the summer and I will be so sad to see it go.

New Digs!

The exciting news is WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! It is an adorable little house near the water in a lovely town just south of Boston. Now we get to experience all the joys of home ownership. Like this week when I realized we had an ant problem - My first thought was, "We'll have to call the landlord and tell them to send an exterminator..." And then I laughed, but it really wasn't very funny.

The Winter of our discontent...

We are plodding through the last weeks of winter now and desperately wishing for spring! Annie is getting restless (and oh, how opinionated a two-year-old can be!) and I am restless too.

Declan is beginning to sit up on his own and he is a great eater. Now if he would just sleep a bit more at night, we'd be golden. We are seeing more of his personality now, which is such a neat thing to see.

It really is great to have the two of them. It is hard to just enjoy them sometimes when you are in the thick of it - toddler tantrums and sleepless nights - but through it all, I do realize how blessed we've been.

The big news is that we are buying a house! It is very exciting, but the buying process is a headache. We really love the house - it is small, but very cute and cozy.

Latest news:

Carol Anne is two-and-a-half now, and chatting up a storm. She obviously thinks our house is her own personal little dictatorship, because she regularly tries to order us around these days ("Mommy, come!") But despite the usual terrible twos stuff, we are really enjoying her at this age because her language is so funny. When she wants to be picked up, she says "Carry you?" (instead of "Carry Me") When she wants to get the attention of more than one person she says, "Guys, Guys!" and lately when something unpleasant happens she says, "Aw, Man!" It's like a comedy show every single day, but we have to watch what we say. She is also singing along with songs, which is just adorable.

Declan is five months old as of Dec.9th, and he is rather big for his age. He is such a sweet and easy-going baby, though we wish he slept better at night! Lately he is laughing and cooing and trying to roll over. He also started solid food, but he doesn't seem thrilled about it so far.

After being in Boston for a year now, we are really enjoying it. Christa misses NYC sometimes (and especially our friends there) but she has made a lot of new friends in this area.

Since September of last year, Dennis has been working at Boston University's Agannis Arena. http://www.agganisarena.com/ The schedule can be grueling, but he likes the people he is working with.
