WELCOME TO E-1 TRACK CLUB - WHERE ATHLETES DREAM, BELIEVE, FOCUS AND ACHIEVE

Welcome to the home of E-1 Track Club. Thank you for and taking the time to get to know us by visiting our site.  We hope that the information on this website provides you with some insight as to how our Club operates and the involvement of the athlete, parents and coaching staff in working together to help all of our athletes accomplish their goals.

OUR PURPOSE:

The specific purpose of our track and field club is to acquaint and educate youth with the fundamentals of the sport of Track and Field; to teach sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership and fair play through the sport; and to offer athletes opportunities to compete in track and field meets/competitions against other youth athletes on different track teams. E-1 Track Club’s goals are to encourage and help young people to develop physically, emotionally and socially through their involvement in track and field. They will improve their physical conditioning as they learn skills related to track and field. They will build a positive self-image as they recognize their individual achievements. They will be part of a team that encourages and promotes the development of friendships, support and encouragement of fellow athletes, good sportsmanship and a good time.

In agreement with the USATF statement, “Youth meets and races are often more than competition--they're also fun! And, regardless of whether young athletes achieve a personal best, win a medal, or earn a shot at international competition, they'll have the opportunity to make new friends--and a lifetime of memories!” “E-1 coaches believe in the teaching of the fundamentals of track and field by age appropriate levels while promoting a team environment

OUR MISSION:

The mission of E-1 Track Club is to motivate the athlete to aspire to achieve leadership, discipline and integrity through the sport of track and field and cross country running. E-1  is a community-based program that operates under the guidelines of the Cobb County Youth Track League (CCYTL), Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA), SmartMeet Crystal League, United States Association of Track and Field (USATF), Amateur Athletics Union (AAU), and the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA).

"E-1 is proud to have among its adult leadership a USATF Level 2 Certified coach,  eight USATF Level 1 Coaches, three USATF Association Level Officials, one AAU Positive Coaching Alliance Double-Goal Coach, as well as other experienced coaches, and parent coaches who all work diligently to help develop, refine, and enhance the skills and talent of all athletes- elite, as well as developmental . Head Coach, Coach Vaughn declares, "We work with any and all athletes between the ages of 7 and 18 who respect diligence, have a good work ethic, and are committed to realizing and reaching their potential.” His philosophy is embedded in our mission statement: One Team! One Sound! and in our motto:

FOCUSFast , Optimal, Competitive, Unobstructive, Speed

CLUB FUNCTION:

This organization is open to athletes between the ages of 7 and 18. The program is designed to meet the needs of all participants regardless of their performance level.  Athletes who work hard and make the attempt are as much a part of the group as those who attain the highest level of achievement.  We believe that "hard work, given time, often beats talent if talent is not accompanied by dedication, diligence, and perseverance in attempts."

The club is comprised of 100% volunteer staff of parents and adults who promote and support youth track. The club operates completely under The E-1 Track Club By-Laws. Copies are available upon request only.

2012 CLUB SEASON:

There are three track seasons, a pre-season training season (with options to compete) and two competitive track and field seasons.

For more information, e-mail us at e1trackclub@aol.com.  For those participating in the entire competition track and field season, it lasts for 6 months (approximately 3 months during the Spring Season and 3 months during the Summer). During these 6 months; we assist boys and girls, ages 7 -18 (ages by December 31, 2012) and 19, if still 18 by beginning of August 2012, with training in track and field events and participation in developmental meets, as well as competitive local, regional and national meets such as Invitationals, as well as the USATF and the AAU National Junior Olympics. During the summer, with the same disclaimer relative to availability and restrictions, our athletes may compete in all the events listed above, with the exception of the softball throw and the 1600m run. They also may compete in sprint relays, 4x800m relays and the 1600m Relay. Additional field events in which our athletes may compete include the Mini/Turbo Javelin and Javelin Throw. For those who want an event more intense and rigorous track and field experience, they may chose to contest the following Multi-events: Triathlon, Pentathlon, Heptathlon (Girls) or Decathlon (Boys), as well as the Hammer throw, or Steeplechase.

Our club supports the counties who have Road Runners and Middle School, and High School running programs. We expect and encourage our athletes to participate in their school's programs, practices, and events. We do not require nor expect or encourage athletes to participate in events during the school's running seasons. Any athlete who desires to participate in a Club activity, when his/her school has an event, must do so with permission from or agreement with the school's coach(es.)

Again, we appreciate you stopping by.  We are excited about the future of our Club and thank you for visiting our cyber location.
