The days are short, the nights long. Ice and mud are a daily reality. I watch my two wooley equine children, shaggy and muddy, searching for the last bit of green grass poking through the fallen leaves. As I head for the barn, I hear quiet nickers of expectation. I would love to think it's because they miss our daily grooming sessions, training times, or trail rides......I suspect, however, it's really about the dinner of hay and grain soon to be served.
During this quiet time, I love to reflect on how blessed I am to have equine friends, and the humans they own, to share my life. As your incoming club president, I am looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that
are ahead. I'm especially anticipating getting to know more of you, and working together to find new and interesting ways of enjoying our equine partners.
Well my tenure is over and we have a new President. And we have several first time officers. It will be good to get some fresh ideas on activities, rides and campouts. I am especially looking forward to hearing from the new program and events committee as they seem to have some exciting clinics and activities to propose. I also want to encourage members to come to the annual ride and activity planning meeting on January 22nd at Linda Carthen’s home. Please consider being the contact person and arranging a ride, clinic, program or campout. This club can only be as successful as it’s members make it. Wishing you all a Happy New Year. See you on the trails.
