Track Workouts

We meet every Tuesday and Thursday at Sabino Canyon High School track located in North East Tucson at the corner of Snyder and Harrison Rd.

Start time is "0515" on Tuesdays and "0500" on Thursdays

All workouts begin and end wtih a 1.5 mile warm up/cool down. Track workouts are a series of intervals with the sum of the speed intervals totaling 3 miles. The workout begins with repreats of 400 meters and increased by 400 meters each Tuesday for four Tuesdays when it starts over again. A typical four week series would be:

T1 12 x 400 (200 rest)

T2 6 x 800 (400 rest)

T3 4 x 1200 (400 rest)

T4 3 x 1600 (400 rest)

Thursdays bring a longer workout of 5K, 10K, or 10 mile distances. (Some members often op out for a local trail run instead.) The 5K is often run on the track, but we also have a road course. The 10K and 10......
