East All-Stars 3 - West All-Stars 2
Co-captains Jessie Klamut and Charley Martin represented the Falcons in the annual East vs West All-Star soccer game held at Christopher Newport University on July 13. Jessie scored the game winning goal which clinched the victory for the East squad. Coaches statewide nominate senior players from their teams to participate in the all-star game which is sponsored by the Virginia High School Coaches Association.

It was just over 70 minutes before the Jessie Klamut scored the game winner to send the Lady Falcons into the VHSL AAA State Championship game. Klamut fielded a pass from Lauren Muncy just outside the 18 yard box and fired a shot past the Heritage goalkeeper. The Falcons return to the championship game after a 3 year absence. They have appeared in the state tournament 10 of the last 11 years.
Cox 2 - McLean 3
Two late goals by McLean squashed any hopes the Falcons had for winning their first state title. The Lady Falcons went up early in the first 5 minutes when a blast by Charley Martin hit the post and rebounded off a defender into the goal. Five minutes later McLean tied it up on a score off a crossed ball from the right. The teams would go into the half tied 1-1. Jessie Klamut would score in the 58th minute off an assist from Lauren Muncy to put the Falcons ahead 2-1. A controversial penalty kick and caution to goalkeeper Rachel King tied it up 2-2 in the 68th minute. The game winner for McLean was scored in the 75th minute leaving the Falcons only 5 minutes to force an overtime. Despite pushing players forward and quick play by the Falcons, time ran out. Cox 2 - Woodson 1, 4 OT
The Lady Falcons advance to the Final Four off a game-winning goal by Emory Camper with 3:04 remaining in the 4th sudden victory overtime period. Camper dribbled down the right side beating her defender and then shooting low to the near post to win the game. Jessie Klamut put the Falcons on the board first in the 23rd minute when she finished a pass from Ashby Whitehorne low and to the far post against the Woodson goalkeeper. The Falcons will face Heritage High School in the semifinals at Westfield High School. The game time will be announced later today.
Cox 0 - Grassfield 1
Despite outshooting the Grizzlies 24-7, an own goal prevented the Lady Falcons from defending their Eastern Region crown. The own goal occurred in the 24th minute and the Falcons could not overcome the goal. The Falcons continued to push numbers forward in the 2nd half and substituted frequently to keep fresh legs running at the Grizzlies. The second half shot ratio was 10-2 but none would find the back of the net. The Lady Falcons will travel Tuesday to Northern Region champion W.T. Woodson to play a state quarterfinal match.
Cox 3 - Hickory 1
The Lady Falcons advance to the Eastern Region finals behind goals from Jessie Klamut (2 goals) and Brittany Krause. Charley Martin recorded an assist on Klamut's 2nd goal. Klamut's first goal was scored 17 seconds into the match. The win secured a berth to the VHSL AAA State Tournament. The finals will be on Friday, June 3rd, 5:30 p.m, Powhatan Stadium against the Grizzlies of Grassfield.
Cox 8 - Granby 0
The Lady Falcons advance to the Eastern Region semifinals with an 8-0 win over the Comets of Granby. Jessie Klamut opened the scoring with back to back goals in the 7th minute, 14 seconds apart. Klamut scored both goals off feeds from Emory Camper on the right side just inside the 18 yd. box. Molly Jarrett added a goal in the 11th minute off a corner kick from Lauren Muncy. Melanie Oakes continued the scoring in the 24th minute when she collected a rebound off the post and finished it past the Granby keeper. Kaitlynn (the birthday girl) scored 3 minutes later on an unassisted goal from the right side. Jamie Vest scored in the 73rd minute, beating the Comet defense on the dribble and finishing her shot past the Comet keeper. Ashley Whited closed out the scoring with back to back goals of her own. Her goals were unassisted and scored in the 77th and 78th minute. The Lady Falcons will face the Hawks of Hickory on Wednesday, June 1, 7:30 p.m. at the ODU soccer complex.
Cox 1 - Kellam 0
The Lady Falcons secured their fifth consecutive Beach District tournament title with a 1-0 win over Kellam. Emory Camper scored the game winning goal in the 27th minute when she settled a loose ball in front of the Kellam keeper and finished a left-footed shot past her. The defense, led by backs Carly Atchison, Abby Johnson and Kim Harkins denied the Kellam attack throughout the night allowing on 3 shots. Goalkeeper Rachel King made 1 save in securing her 15th shutout. The Lady Falcons advance to the Eastern Region tournament as the #1 Beach seed where they will face #2 Eastern seed Granby. Match day is Tuesday, May 31st at the ODU Soccer Complex.
Cox 4 - First Colonial 0
Jessie Klamut had a goal and an assist to lead the Falcons to the Beach District tournament final. Other Falcon goals were scored by Ashley Whited, Brittany Krause and Emory Camper. Kaitlynn Klamut recorded the assist on Whited's goal. The Falcons will face the winner of Wednesday's semifinal match between Kellam and Ocean Lakes. Finals are on Thursday, 5:15 p.m. at the Sportsplex.
Cox 8 - Salem 0
The Lady Falcons open the Beach District tournament with an 8-0 win over the Sundevils of Salem. Emory Camper led the team with 2 goals and an assist with other Falcon goals being scored by Charley Martin, Jessie Klamut, Brittany Krause, Ashley Whited, Molly Jarrett and Olivia Camper. Assists were credited to Melanie Oakes, Jessie Klamut and Ashley Whited. Rachel King records her 14th shutout. The Lady Falcons advance to the semifinals on Tuesday, May 17th, 5:15 pm at the Va. Beach Sportsplex where they will face the Patriots of First Colonial.
Cox 5 - Kempsville 3
The Lady Falcons secured the regular season Beach District championship with their win over Kempsville. Falcon goals were scored by Melanie Oakes, Ashby Whitehorne, Emory Camper and Jessie Klamut who scored the game winner and added an insurance goal. Camper had an assist on Klamut's goal. By winning the district, the Falcons are the #1 seed in the Beach District tournament and they have secured an automatic berth to the Eastern Region tournament.

Eight different players score in the Falcons' final regular season home game. On Senior Night, it was appropriate that the first score of the game was by a senior. Charley Martin opened the scoring in the 10th minute when she volleyed a throw-in from Emory Camper into the goal. Camper adds a goal of her own and finishes with 3 assists on the night, all from throw-ins. Other Falcon goals were scored by Melanie Oakes, Lauren Muncy, Jessie Klamut, Jamie Vest, Brittany Krause and Tyler Davidson. Muncy and Krause also record assists. The Falcons improve to 8-0-1 in the district and 13-1-1 overall.

- Brittany Krause scores the tying goal off an assist from Melanie Oakes in the 67th minute and the Falcons hold on through 2 overtime periods for the tie. Jessie Klamut scored the Falcons' only goal of the 1st half off free kick play with Lauren Muncy.

- Brittany Krause scores the game winning game in the 9th minute and the Falcons battle it out for 71 more minutes to preserve the win.

- Ashby Whitehorne scores the game winning goal while Lauren Muncy and Emory Camper (2 goals) add insurance goals in the 2nd half. Molly Jarrett, Jessie Klamut and Jeannie Blackwood record assists. Goalkeeper Rachel King makes 3 saves while she records her 11th shutout with 9 consecutive.

- Jessie Klamut scores a hat trick and adds an assist to lead the Falcons over the Eagles. Other Falcon goals were scored by Kaitlynn Klamut, Lauren Muncy, Brittany Krause (2), Molly Jarrett and Ashby Whitehorne. Kaitlynn Klamut had 2 assists while Emory Camper logged 1 assist.

Ashley Whited scores a hat trick to lead the Falcons over the Cavaliers of Princess Anne. Molly Jarrett scored the first game of the match in the 6th minute when she finished a ball off a through pass from teammate Jessie Klamut. Klamut then struck for an unassisted goal almost a minute afterwards. Jarrett would score her 2nd goal of the match off a corner kick from Lauren Muncy that was redirected by Brittany Krause for Jarrett to finish. Whited would then score back to back goals in the 23rd and 26th minute. The Falcons go into halftime with a 5-0 lead. After the half, Jessie Klamut scores her 2nd goal in the 48th minute off a pass from Melanie Oakes. Whited scores her 3rd goal in 56th minute off a crossed ball from Olivia Camper. Ashby Whitehorne gets a breakaway in 60th minute, draws the goalkeeper and dishes off to Kaitlynn Klamut for the goal. The final score, Falcons 8 - Cavaliers 0.

Ashby Whitehorne had a hat trick as the Lady Falcons defeated the Lions last night at Tallwood. Kaitlyn Klamut, Jessie Klamut and Lauren Muncy each scored a goal while Brittany Krause added 2 goals of her own. Goalkeeper Rachel King has her 6th consecutive shutout with 8 shutouts overall. The Lady Falcons are now 4-0 in the District and 8-1 overall.
Cox 6 - First Colonial 0
It was a 2 -2 -2 night at First Colonial where Ashley Whited, Jessie Klamut and Brittany Krause each had a pair of goals against the Lady Patriots. Ashley had bookend goals, that is the 1st and last goals with Klamut's and Krause's goals in the middle. Goalkeeper Rachel King made 3 saves as she recorded her 5th consecutive shutout and 7th overall. The team is back in action tomorrow night when they travel to Tallwood to take on the Lions. The Falcons are 3-0 in the district and 7-1 overall.
Cox 2 - Bayside 0
Brittany Krause scores the game winner in the 28th minute when she finished a loose ball on the right side of the goal past the Bayside goalkeeper. Jessie Klamut added an insurance goal in the 49th minute when she beat 2 defenders on the right and blasted a shot past the keeper. Rachel King records her 4th consecutive shutout with 6 shutouts overall. The Falcons are 2-0 in the district and 6-1 overall.

In their first Beach district game of the season, the Falcons defeated the Stallions by a score of 8-0. Brittany Krause has her 2nd hat trick while Ashley Whited also tallies a pair of goals. Kaitlyn Klamut, Melanie Oakes, and Maddy Humphrey score their first goals of the season. Jessie Klamut and Kaitlyn Klamut each log a pair of assists for the match. Goalkeeper Rachel King has her 3rd consecutive shutout.

Jessie Klamut and Brittany Krause score hat tricks to lead the Falcons over the Commodores in Wednesday's match at Powhatan Stadium. Lauren Muncy and Jeannie Blackwood score their first goals of the season. Assists were recorded by Melanie Oakes, Molly Jarrett, and Kaitlyn Klamut.
Cox 4 - Emmaus (PA) 0
Brittany Krause and Ashley Whited each had a pair of goals in the Falcons 4-0 win over the Hornets of Emmaus. Krause scored the lone goal of the 1st half in the 39th minute going 1 v 1 against the Hornets' keeper. She tallied her 2nd goal in 45th minute off a cross from Jessie Klamut that was redirected by Molly Jarrett to Krause's feet for the tap in goal. Ashley Whited scored the first of her pair of goals 2 minutes later in 47th minute when she followed up her own initial shot that rebounded off the keeper and she finished for a goal. Whited scored the Falcons final goal in the 86th minute when Ashby Whitehorne slipped a through ball to her inside the box for the score. The Falcons are now 3-1 overall and will play their first district game at home against Green Run on Tuesday, April 5th.
Cox 2 - Deep Run 3
The Lady Falcons suffer their first loss of the season against the Wildcats of Deep Run. The Falcons struck 1st in the 23rd minute off a goal by Jessie Klamut. Brittany Krause and Ashby Whitehorne combined with Klamut on the goal. The Wildcats tied it up in the 29th minute and the score was 1-1 at the half. The Falcons struck 1st again in the 2nd half with a goal by Brittany Krause in the 55th minute. Charley Martin was credited with the assist. The Wildcats again evened the score with a goal in the 59th minute. The Wildcats score the winning goal with just over 5 minutes remaining in the game. The Falcons are now 1-1 overall. They open Beach District play on Friday, May 1 when they travel to neighborhood rival First Colonial.
Cox 1 - Mills Godwin 0
The Lady Falcons defeat the Eagles of Mills Godwin in the 4th Annual Va. Beach Soccer Showcase held at the Va. Beach Sportsplex. Brittany Krause scores the game winner in the 23rd minute when she followed a blocked shot by the Godwin goalkeeper and then tucked the ball past the recovering keeper. The Falcons outshot the Eagles 20-1 while goalkeeper Rachel King records her 2nd shutout.
Cox 3 - Grassfield 0
On an overcast day with temperatures in the 50's, the Lady Falcons opened their season with a 3-0 win over the Grizzlies of Grassfield. Jessie Klamut scored her first goal of the seaon in the 7th minute of the season off a corner kick from Lauren Muncy. Klamut headed the ball off Muncy's kick past the Grizzley goalkeeper who never saw it coming. The Falcons went into the half with a 1-0 lead. Second half action came during the 52nd and 53rd minutes. Brittany Krause pounced on a ball redirected by Ashley Whited and slipped it past the diving keeper to score her first goal of the season. The Falcons struck again within a minute as Charley Martin scored her first goal from left side, just outside of the 18 yard box off a pass from Brittany Krause. The Falcons will be back in action on March 25th when they play in the Virginia Beach Soccer Showcase.
Cox 0 - Stone Bridge 4
The season comes to an end for the Falcons as they were defeated by the Bulldogs of Stone Bridge. The Bulldogs struck early in the 4th minute with a goal by Ashley Herndon who also had a goal in the 2nd half. The direct play of the Bulldogs kept the Falcons off balance and provided the scoring opportunities for the Stone Bridge. The Falcons finish their season with a 21-2-1 record.
Falcons Advance to Final Four
For the 3rd consecutive match, Jessie Klamut put the Falcons on the board with the game winning goal in the 2nd minute of play. Klamut added an insurance goal in the 27th minute off an assist from Molly Jarrett. Second half goals were scored by Molly Jarrett off an assist from Kara Braunstein and by Krysten Reid off an assist by Ashley Whited. The Falcons return to Westfield High School in Chantilly for the State semifinals where they will face Stone Bridge on Friday, June 11th. Match time is 6 p.m.

EASTERN REGION CHAMPIONS 2010
The Lady Falcons defeat the Dolphins 2-0 to win the Eastern Region Tournament. Jessie Klamut scored what proved to be the game winning goal in the 2nd minute. Lauren Muncy found Klamut open on the left side of the net who then blasted a hard, low shot past the Ocean Lakes keeper. Brittany Krause added the insurance goal in the 76th minute when she headed the ball into the net off a crossing pass from Lauren Muncy on the right side. Goalkeeper Rachel King earned her 15th shutout for the season. The win marked the 150th overall win for Coach Clark. The Falcons will host Thomas Dale, Central Region Runner-ups, on Tuesday, June 8th, 5:30 pm at the Sportsplex.

Cox 7 - Menchville 0
The Lady Falcons earn a return trip to the VHSL AAA State Championship by defeating the Monarchs of Menchville in the Eastern Region Semifinals. Jessie Klamut led the Falcons with her 1st hat trick of the season. Klamut struck back to back goals in the 2nd and 5th minutes when she finished a cross from Tyler Davidson and headed in a corner kick from Lauren Muncy. Muncy added a goal in the 34th minute followed by goals from Kara Braunstein and Brittany Krause in the 35th and 38th minutes. Second half goals were recorded by Jessie Klamut to complete her hat trick and by Ashley Whited. Midfielder Charley Martin tallied 2 assists while Krause also recorded an assist. The Falcons advance to the Eastern Region Finals on Friday, June 4th at 5:30 p.m. when they will once again face the Dolphins of Ocean Lakes.

Brittany Krause led the Falcons with 3 goals as they defeated the Wildcats of Great Bridge 4-1 in the Eastern Region Quarterfinals. Krause's hat trick began in the 10th minute when she finished a pass from Hayley Cook. Kara Braunsten struck next for the Falcons in the 20th minute when she finished a rebound off the Wildcats' goalkeeper after a low, hard shot by Emory Camper. Krause's 2nd goal came off a corner kick from Lauren Muncy in the 23rd minute. Krause completed her hat trick in the 57th minute. The Lady Falcons advance to the Wednesday's Eastern Region Semifinals where they will face the Monarchs of Menchville at 5:30 at Powhatan Stadium.

The Lady Falcons sweep the Beach District Tournament title by defeating the Dolphins of Ocean Lakes in last night's tournament final. Emory Camper's goal in the 26th minute was all the Falcons needed for the win. Jessie Klamut tallied the assist when she crossed the ball from the right to Camper who finished it past the Ocean Lakes goalkeeper. Rachel King recorded her 14th shutout for the season. The Falcons will face the Wildcats of Great Bridge in the Eastern Region Quarterfinals on Tuesday, June 1, 4 o'clock at Powhatan Stadium.

Jessie Klamut scored the game winning goal in the 94th minute of play to propel the Lady Falcons into the Beach District Tournament Final. Klamut finished a pass from Molly Jarrett who took the ball to endline and laid it back across the box for Klamut. Goalkeeper Rachel King made 4 saves as she recorded her 13th shutout for the season. The Falcons will face the Dolphins of Ocean Lakes on Thursday, May 27th at 5:15 at the VB Sportsplex.
Cox 4 - Tallwood 1
Jessie Klamut scored the game winning goal in 26th minute to lead the Falcons over the Lions of Tallwood. Klamut scored the first goal of the match in the 14th minute when she headed in a throw-in from Emory Camper. The Lions tied it up 5 minutes later on a goal by Jessica Kilmurray. Klamut's 2nd goal proved to be the game winner after that. Kara Braunstein and Jamie Vest added insurance goals in the 2nd half while Molly Jarrett and Ashley Whited recorded assists.
Cox 3 - Kempsville 0
Cox clinches the Beach District regular season title with decisive win over Kempsville. Falcon goals were scored by Lauren Muncy, Brittany Krause and Jessie Klamut. The Falcons finish district play with a 9-1 record. The Beach District Tournament begins Monday, May 24th with a Falcon doubleheader at F.W. Cox Stadium. The girls will face the Lions of Tallwood while the boys will face the Dolphins of Ocean Lakes. The girls' match begins at 5:15 p.m. followed by the boys' match at 7:00 p.m.

Brittany Krause scored the game winner in the 24th minute as the Falcons defeat the Sundevils of Salem. Lauren Muncy tallied an assist on Krause's goal. The Falcons improve to 8-1 in the district and 13-1-1 overall with 1 remaining match before next week's Beach District Tournament.
Cox 2 - Kellam 1
The Lady Falcons recovered quickly from last week's loss with a 2-1 victory over the Knights of Kellam. Emory Camper scored her 1st goal of the season in the 16th minute, after coming back from an ACL injury. Camper's goal came off a corner kick by Jessie Klamut which was redirected by Lauren Muncy and finished by Camper. Within a minute, Jessie Klamut blasted a low shot from outside the box to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead. Kellam's lone goal was the result of an own goal by the Falcons near the end of the 1st half. The game was declared over and official with just over 10 minutes remaining due to inclement weather.
Cox 1 - Ocean Lakes 2
The Lady Falcons suffer their first loss of the season against the Dolphins of Ocean Lakes. In a hard fought match at the Sportsplex last week, the Falcons dropped a decisive match against Ocean Lakes. After a scoreless first half, the Falcons were first to get on the board with a goal by Charley Martin. Unfortunately, the Dolphins answered back with their first goal on the ensuing kickoff. Kelsey Thomas scored the winning goal for the Dolphins with just over 8 minutes remaining. Despite high pressure by the Falcons and shots that pinged off the posts, time ran out and the Dolphins recorded the win.
Cox 4 - Landstown 0
The Lady Falcons improve to 11-0-1 overall and 6-0 in the district with a 4-0 win over the Eagles of Landstown. Falcon goals were scored by Brittany Krause, Molly Jarrett who scored two, and Jessie Klamut. Krause tallied an assist on Jarrett's 2nd goal.
Cox 1 - Princess Anne 0
Jessie Klamut scored the winning goal in the 43rd minute as the Lady Falcons held on to post the 1 to nothing win over the Cavaliers. Lauren Muncy recorded the assist on Klamut's goal when she crossed a ball from just outside the box on the right that was finished by Klamut past the PA keeper. The Cavaliers came on strong after Klamut's goal, but goalkeeper Rachel King rose to the occasion with 5 saves, including stuffing a PA forward on a 1 v 1 breakaway. The Falcons improve to 10-0-1 overall and 5-0 in the district.
Cox 6 - Tallwood 0
Congratulations go out to our seniors Kara, Hayley, Meredith and Krysten as we celebrated Senior Night with a district win over the Lions of Tallwood. Jessie Klamut started the scoring off in the 4th minute with the first of her 2 goals. She would later score in the closing seconds before halftime as well as tally an assist before the half. Other Falcon goals were recorded by Meredith Corner, Molly Jarrett with 2, and Brittany Krause. Lauren Muncy tallied an assist on Krause's goal. The Falcons improve to 9-0-1 overall and 4-0 in the district.

Brittany Krause scored the game winning goal in the 39th minute against the Marlins of Bayside. Krause collected a pass from Lauren Muncy and finished it with a goal past the Bayside keeper. A stingy defense limited the Marlins to 1 second half shot which was saved by goalkeeper Rachel King. King recorded her 6th shutout of the season. The Falcons are 3-0 in the district and 8-0-1 overall.

Brittany Krause scored the lone goal of the 1st half in the 15th minute as the Falcons defeated the Stallions by a final score of 4-0. Lauren Muncy had a goal in the 55th minute and assisted on the 68th minute goal scored by Meredith Corner. Corner added the final goal in the 79th minute. The Lady Falcons improve to 2-0 in the district and 7-0-1 overall.
Cox 5 - First Colonial 2
In their Beach District opener, the Lady Falcons struck quick and often as they defeated the Patriots of First Colonial in the battle of the Beach. Kara Braunstein scored in the first 19 seconds to get the Falcons going. FC's kickoff was turned into a Falcon goal when Meredith Corner intercepted a pass in the FC half and passed it down the line to Jessie Klamut. Klamut took the ball to the end line and crossed a beautiful ground ball to Braunstein who finished it past a stunned FC goalkeeper. Jessie Klamut had 2 goals and an assist to lead the Falcons. Brittany Krause and Melanie Oakes added goals to increase the margin of victory. The Falcons improve to 1-0 in the district and 6-0-1 overall.

Kara Braunstein had a hat trick to lead the Falcons over the Commodores in a Eastern Region rival match. Jessie Klamut recorded an assist on Braunstein's first goal, which was recorded in the opening 19 seconds, while Hayley Cook was credited with an assist on her 3rd goal. All three goals were scored in the 1st half. Ashby Whitehorne added a second half goal off an assist by Molly Jarrett to make the final score 4-0.

It took just over 50 minutes for the Falcons to finally score and defeat the Grizzlies of Grassfield in the first matchup of these two teams in their program's histories. Charley Martin crossed a ball to Molly Jarrett who scored the winning goal. Lauren Muncy added an insurance goal in the 68th minute on a free kick. A stingy defense led by Abby Johnson limited the Grizzlies to 4 shots while goalkeeper Rachel King recorded her 2nd shutout. The Falcons improve to 2-0 overall. Player of the Game this week was Lauren Muncy. The Falcons next games will be in the Va. Beach Showcase March 26th & 27th against Norfolk Academy and Blacksburg at the Sportsplex.
Cox 6 - Hickory 0
The Lady Falcons answered the whistle as they opened the 2010 season with a win over Southeastern district rivals Hickory Hawks. With 2 goals in the opening minutes by Hayley Cook and Jessie Klamut, the Falcons never looked back. Molly Jarrett added a goal before the half and the Falcons were up 3-0. Brittany Krause scored 2 second half goals while Jarrett tallied her 2nd goal and the Falcons win their season opener. Kara Braunstein, Jessie Klamut and Meredith Corner recorded assists for the match. Brittany Krause was selected Player of the Game.
More Awards
The Lady Falcons were a double honoree for the 2009 NSCAA High School Team Academic Award. To qualify for the award, the team had to have a minimum GPA of 3.25 for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player's GPA, then dividing by the number of players. In 2009, both the girls' and boys' team qualified for the academic award. The boys posted a 3.25 GPA while the girls qualified with a 3.67 GPA.
Junior Emory Camper was recognized as a 2009 NSCAA High School All-American. This caps her sophomore season where she was recognized as All-Beach, All-Region, All-Tidewater, and All-State. Congratulations Emory on being an All-American!
