Back from Trip to Michigan

Kirsten and I have just come back from a wonderful week in Detroit, Michigan.  We actually stayed in a suburb called Grosse Pointe Park with Jennifer, Steve and their children.  Some of you may remember, especially if you follow our blog, that we met whilst on the Disney Cruise back last September and they had to leave the ship in Cabo due to their second son, Andrew having Appendicitus.  We maintained contact after the cruise and my Christmas present from John was the tickets to go and visit.

The week had been wonderful.  Steve and Jennifer are great hosts.  Hopefully we didn't get in their way too much.  Kirsten is lost today not having her 4 surrogate siblings around.  Hopefully they will allow us back for another visit, next time in the Summer and maybe they can even visit us here in Scottsdale or we'll even meet you somewhere.

Happy New Year

Welcome to 2012! We're hoping to see many of you this year. Can you believe it but Kirsten will turn 5; I'll hit the big 40; John and I will celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary and John turns 45.

The year itself is starting out with a bang as I start back at work after being at home for almost 11 years! I'm excited and yet nervous, and no I'm not going to go back as an administrator but moving into the field of child care, well I've been in it for almost 5 years now anyway!

Talk to you soon.

2011

What a year we had!  We started out in the UK for Christmas and New Year 2010 - 2011 then we remodeled the pool and part of the back garden.  Now we have just had a fantastic Disney Cruise.

Unfortunately it went down hill a little from there and as you know I currently have John at home with sciatica.  Off to the Dr tomorrow and he hopes to be back at work on Thursday although I'm not certain he's going to make it through a full day!  Yes, he went back to work and it was a slow and steady recovery.  Kirsten changed schools this year and is thriving in her new environment too.

Almost There

Well it has taken 4 weeks from start to finish.  We've still got a few odds and ends to get finished and sorted, but all the masonry work has been completed by Kimball's Custom Masonry and we can't thank them enough for the amazing work and work ethics together with the work of Cameo Pools that did the pool remodel.  I hope you enjoy looking at all the pictures.

Pool Remodel

This week we have really made a start on the pool remodel.  Everything is extremely dusty but definitely starting to take shape.  Most of the work is in the hands of our masonry guy, Kimball, and we have great faith in him.  Once he's done the pool Company, Cameo, will come back to continue with their work.
