Music Ministry - First Baptist Church, Pensacola - 2268 - Tour 2008-Coming Home

Today was all about going home! We got an early start, leaving the hotel on our two coaches at 7:10 for the hour ride to the Rome Airport. Our flight was at 11:15, but this tightly secured airport takes a little longer to get through than most, so we needed every bit of that "early time" to pull it off.

The flight from Rome to Philadelphia was in the 10 hour neighborhood, but since it was daylight all the way, it seemed shorter to most. Our Philly to Charlotte connection departed late, but we easily made the Charlotte to Pensacola connection.

The choir voted for the Tour 2008 Who's Who while at the Philadelphia Airport, and we announced the winners at the Charlotte Airport. Yes, we were one of those obnoxious groups making a lot of noise as they cheered for the winners! Congrats go to all the winners, but especially to the TOUR GAL & GUY (a best all around category): Clarie Stubblefield and Nate Graves.

We arrived "on time" at the Pensacola Airport around 10:50 PM, a little road weary, but in great spirits nonetheless. What a great gathering of family and friends to greet us; it made us feel "missed."

A word of thanks to all involved . . . the choir members, the sponsors, the parents, and the church at large. Without any one of these groups, tours like this simply could not happen. Please feel good about investing in the lives of these young folk. Tour 2008, with all of its experiences, is now a permanent part of their fabric . . . a great part!
