Welcome to FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH, 3rd and Ash, downtown San Diego

First Lutheran Church became a Reconciling In Christ congregation in 1989, nearly hundred years after it was established. We opened our doors, hearts and arms to people of difference; whether that be sexual orientation, gender, economic status, color, capabilities or any difference that separates one from another for ‘We are all one in Christ Jesus’.

First Lutheran Church’s 2010 Pride Theme is; One Bread, One Body, One Lord of All. We believe in One Bread, offered in our sanctuary and patio, where hundreds receive their weekly meal; One Body of diverse people; One Lord that loves us as we are.

The theme was created to lift up our social outreach program called T.A.C.O. (Third Ave Charitable Organization) They provide meals, medical and dental care, acupuncture, legal services, and end-of-life care, all at no cost to downtown San Diego's homeless, elderly and working poor.

Here you'll find additional pictures and news about our 2010 Pride parade float.

Our congregation is committed to this evangelical ministry event. It is not only a ministry for the GLBT community but for all of us as well . We believe ourselves to be a beacon that calls out “March up to the gate and bid it open”.
