Stay at Home Mom News
Good morning. I am currently enjoying a cup of coffee and updating my site -- luxury really. I am so glad that we are finally moved and settled in. There are a few boxes left that I am trying to ignore -- I just simply do not know what to do with their contents! There is no lack of storage space in our new house so for now I am going to let them sit. I am excited to tell you that I now have my very own craft room. I call it my office and Josh is only allowed to go in if I give him permission ... well, I am not that strict about it but he can't tell me to clean it up for sure! I love that I can sit down and be crafty for just five minutes if I want. I am currently preparing items for the opening of Maple and Moose, the store in Blyth, ON that I sell my products in. I thoroughly enjoyed last season and thought I'd give it another go. Life is good and even though there is still not enough time in a day to sew, I am loving it!
Winter Has Arrived Full Blast!
Hi everyone -- Happy Snow day from my part of the globe! I am enjoying a glorious snow day from the kitchen of dear friends. It has been wonderful to just be relaxing and spending the day with my hubby and daughter!
The season at Maple and Moose is almost complete. The store closes at the end of December and I can definitely say, I have been successful. Taggie blankets have been the most popular but I have received dozens of compliments on the rest of my products as well. My purses are a funky choice and unique baby gift sets have been pretty much walking out of the store! Be sure to check out my album for new pictures and products! Let me know if you want anything specific!
Thanks for your support!
Spring 2010
It has been a while since I have written but rest assured, I've been sewing up a storm. I am currently getting ready to showcase my stuff in a little store in my home town of Blyth, Ontario. The store is called Maple & Moose and opens for the season on April 1. It contains all things handmade from southwestern Ontario. I've shopped there a few times and thought this would be the perfect way to market and advertise as Blyth has lots of summer traffic and tourists.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the recent spring weather and Kailyn and I have been out running -- well, I run, she rides ... and enjoys every minute of it ... even the stretching at the end :) I am loving see snow drops and daffodils start blooming and the warm weather makes me feel happy. Enjoy your day!
6 months??!!
Wow, my little girl is almost six months old already and she is a fireball. Easy going yet stubborn and always moving. I am loving every moment of being a mom and am so thankful that Kailyn is mine!
As for sewing, I've branched out to baby stuff ... a natural progression! Super cute and very useful and Kailyn is becoming my guinea pig for my projects. Check out the tag blankets, bibs and burp cloths. Great for baby showers, Christmas gifts, etc.
Be good :)
Kailyn Joanne
Many of you already know but my husband and I welcomed our firstborn, a daughter, on May 17, 2009. At that point we didn't know we were to be her parents, but on Monday afternoon we found out and on Tuesday we were able to bring her home. It has been an amazing journey and we are so blessed to be able to parent this precious little gift from God. Thanks for all of your support!
April Showers Bring May Flowers
Well if the above saying is true, get ready for a sudden onslaught of flowers. Rain rain go away .... although the earth does need a drink of water every now and again. May will be full of crazy stuff including the RIVERBANK (only a few days of training left), Josh's GRADUATION, COMPANY coming from everywhere (Ontario & Alberta), sewing, working and more ... life is good but a tad stressful sometimes. Thanks for continuing to check out my site. I am loving the sewing and can't wait to do more ... a necessity to relieve stress in my life :) Keep moving :)
Home Sweet Home
I am home again after being in Ontario for a few days working. It was wonderful to stay with my parents -- great to just hang out and chat with them, it does not happen very often anymore living a few hours away. I even got to see both my brothers (not my sister though). Good times. The bad part was the SNOW!! Yes, the snow. School was even cancelled two days in a row north of my parent's place due to bad weather. Thankfully I was heading south both days.
A few of you have ordered purses and the feedback has been amazing! Thanks so much for spreading the word -- I really appreciate it. I am thoroughly enjoying this new found hobby!
Take care everyone -- keep moving!
Gazoom Training
It has been a while since I've updated you on my Riverbank training. This past Saturday my friend and I ran almost 11 miles! For all you Canucks, that is 17.5 km! I never in a million years thought I'd be able to run for almost 2 hours without stopping! Wowsers -- our bodies truly are amazing. My race is the second weekend in May and will be 15.5 miles so I am almost there. Keep moving -- it really does feel good.
Super cute aprons :)
These very cute aprons might be the new fad -- maybe you'd like to get one for your mom or grandma for Mother's Day -- or you want one yourself! No more of the green with cherries material left but feel free to choose another from any of the fabrics pictured!
Black Swirly Material - Was Lost, Now is FOUND!
Hey everyone ... I found more black swirly material for all of you who fell in love with it immediately as I did. Let me know as soon as possible if you are interested in a bag from this material.
Other news: Bachelor is on tonight :) Yes, a guilty habit.
Happy Monday.

Saturdays are for Fun!
Hi everyone ... well, this week like most other weeks has been a busy one. Thank goodness I get to do all fun stuff tomorrow. First, a 6 mile run with my Gazoom Running Group. Yes, I know I just categorized this as fun! Second, I will be attending a couple of sessions at the Worship Symposium. Third, going out to eat and shop with a great friend. And finally, a chick flick with the girls! Who could ask for a better Saturday! Of course, Sunday I'll be exhausted but oh well!
Have a great weekend everyone! Be happy, be safe.

Gazoom 25
Wondering what Gazoom 25 is? Many people living here in Grand Rapids know that each year the Fifth Third Bank hosts the Riverbank Run. This is a 5/10/25 km run held in May. Last year I successfully ran the 10k and this year my goal is to finish the 25k. Crazy right?! Along with a couple of good (motivating) friends, I joined a training group. We meet to run together every Tuesday and Saturday. This morning was Day 1. Although it was a snowstorm and my eye lashes were frosty by the time we finished, we ran our first 3 miles together. Fun times. These Saturday morning runs will only get longer from here on in. Check back to see how I am doing in weeks to come! Enjoy the winter weather :)
