Here you'll find updated pictures and news about the first winner of the Weinberg Biennial Competition, conducted by the Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park and sponsored by the family of Lewis C. Weinberg in memory of their father. Chicago Sculptor Ron Gard created "French Kiss" from stainless steel, bronze and concrete and is the recipient of the $3,000 cash prize. The competition was open to Illinois artists and those in surrounding states. "French Kiss" will be on display for the next two years in a special section of the Skokie Northshore Sculpture Park, located on McCormick Blvd., between Dempster and Touhy streets on the eastern edge of the Village of Skokie, about 15 miles north of downtown Chicago. Updates

French Kiss, winner of the Weinberg Biennial Sculpture Competition

The first group of photos were taken on September 14, 2009, as Ron Gard installed his sculpture, "French Kiss," in the Weinberg Biennial Competition site in Section I. The final group was taken at the Award Ceremony where the sculpture was unveiled and Ron was presented with his $3,000 prize by David Weinberg, son of the late Lewis C. Weinberg, for whom the competition is named.
