On October 13, 2011, FSFMI held its annual charity golf outing at the Tour 18 course outside Dallas, TX. Thanks to the sponsorship of corporate partners like Cellular One, Quality One Wireless, Huawei Technologies, Clearsky Communications, The Time Group, Nokia Siemens Networks, Ericsson, and many others, the event was a great success, raising $50,000 to benefit NAMI-Montana, Active Minds, and NAMI-Texas' Operation Resilient Families.

On September 25, 2011, the Montana chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness held its annual fundraising and awareness raising charity walk in Helena, Montana.  FSFMI was a leading sponsor.  The event was temendously successful, with over 2,400 walkers and $145,000 raised!

On Saturday June 5, the Family Support Foundation for Mental Illness held its 2010 Family Fun Day fundraiser at the Texas Motor Speedway, featuring a concert by Dancing with the Stars winner and country music star Julianne Hough.  The event preceded the TMS Indy car series Firestone 550 race.  The beneficiaries of Family Fun Day were NAMI-Texas' Operation Resilient Families, which provides mental health support to military service personnel returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and their families, and Active Minds, which develops student-run chapters at colleges and universities across the country to provide mental health resources and support to college age students at a time in their lives where mental illnesses frequently emerge and they are typically away from family and other familiar support structures.

Family Support Foundation for Mental Illness sponsored and supported Active Minds' 2010 Send Silence Packing tour.  Stops in Oklahoma City and at Montana State University in Bozeman coincided with Cellular One's volunteer support.  The tour brought attention to the tragic loss of life from suicide by college students across the country.  The stigma of mental illness and the lack of understanding contribute to an environment where young people take their own lives.  Active Minds is committed to changing this and the Family Support Foundation for Mental Illness supports them in their cause.

On December 3, the Family Support Foundation for Mental Illness hosted "Music for a Cause" at Majesty's restaurant outside Dallas, Texas.  The luncheon event raised over $42,000 in greatly needed funds for (a) Operation Resilient Families, a family mental health program developed by NAMI-Texas to support returning military service personnel and their families, (b) Active Minds, a national non-profit organization that develops and supports student-run chapters at nearly 300 colleges and universities to provide mental health support and awareness, and (c) FSFMI mental illness awareness and education programs.

On September 27, Cellular One and the Family Support Foundation for Mental Illness were the premier sponsors for NAMI-Montana's 2009 Walk.  The Walk was attended by 1,300 supporters and raised more than $110,000, exceeding NAMI's $100,000 goal.  The Cellular One / FSFMI team, comprised of 50 walkers in Helena, Montana and McAllen, Texas contributed more than $22,000.

On June 30, we held our check presentation event at Cellular One's Billings Central retail store to present the funds raised at our Santa's Workshop event to the Eckerdt family and to NAMI-Montana.  Check out the pictures below!
