"WHERE CHOOSEY KIDS CHOOSE JYF"
Welcome
Welcome to First United Methodist's Junior Youth Fellowship! Our mission is to learn about Christ together as friends and grow in our spirituality through fellowship with and serving others. We celebrate God's love in an open, friendly and fun environment, trusting in relationships and supported by loving adults.
A little info about JYF
We meet on Sunday nights from 4:00 until 6:00 and serve third through fifth graders throughout the county. We have members from many different churches, denominations and schools. We hope that you will find a home here, too.
We play games, have dinner, learn about Jesus' plan for us and serve our church and community in various responsibilities throughout the year. We plan different trips as rewards to attendance and service. You will receive an attendance ticket each week. Once an outing is announced, we will announce how many tickets are required for the outing. If you don't have enought tickets, you will be unable to attend that event.
Each summer in June, we take the members to Wild Adventures in Valdosta. Because of the investment, we have fundraising throughout the year to pay for the trip. We have been fortunate in past years to provide spending money for each child.
Dinners are served each week. We ask that members rotate the responsibility for the dinners. We ask two families to share in the planning of the dinners each week.
Our community service projects include Putnam Chrisitan Outreach, Putnam County Library, and Putnam County Food Resource. Our hope is that we instill a sense of community and love for serving others.

FROM JYF . . .
Safe Sanctuary
We love all our JYF parents and appreciate all you do to volunteer and help us! We want everyone to continue being a part of JYF. Our church has recently begun to implement the "safe sanctuary" program church-wide. A part of this is having all adults that play any role in being involved with the children of our church be trained. This includes Sunday School teachers, VBS helpers, youth workers and of course YOU - our amazing JYF volunteers. It is a painless process - we just need about 30 minutes of your time to review the policies and procedures. If you can, we would like for you to come to JYF at 3:30 on Sunday, April 15. You may bring your children with you and they will have something to do before we begin JYF at 4:00. If you have any questions, please contact Debbie.
Easter Celebration!
We will be having our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 7 at the Rainey Farm. Again this year will be a church-wide picnic with everyone bringing their favorite side dishes to share. Keeping with tradition, we will be hiding/hunting eggs, playing games and of course presenting the Resurrection play.
We need to know by next Sunday if your child will be attending the Easter celebration and if they would like to participate in the play. There will be something for everyone that wants to be involved. Please be sure your child is prepared to let us know next Sunday if they will be there. Thanks! More information coming soon.....
