Pre-Christmas Days

Last week was a cold one. There were a few days where the temperature barely reached 20 F. I had to bundled up the kids in a several layers just to walk a block and half to take Kaleigh to preschool. Then it snowed a few times. On the first day, I tried to take the kids sledding by our apartment. But the snow was so fluffy, the sled wouldn't slide. So we just played in the snow. I had to remind Kaleigh several times not to eat the snow. Jacob got upset every time he fell, because he was so bundled up he couldn't get back up by himself.

On Saturday, we had our ward Christmas party breakfast. It was my first ward Christmas party that was held in the morning and not in the evening. It was nice. I think preparing breakfast for a large group of people is easier than preparing dinner. Especially, since the wards are so big out here that doing a pot luck wouldn't really work. I dressed up Kaleigh and Jacob in their Christmas outfits. The Primary did a Nativity presentation. Kaleigh stood in the front with the rest of the Sunbeams and sang Joy to the World and Mary's Lullaby. The kids were really cute!

The party ended with Santa and Mrs. Claus's arrival. Last year while Kaleigh was waiting on line to meet Santa she started sobbing quietly. When I asked her why she was crying, her reply was, "Because I love him." This year Kaleigh was really excited and couldn't stop grinning. Jacob didn't really know who Santa was but was infected by his sister's excitment. When asked if he wants to see Santa, he gave one of his loud yeah's. When it was finally our turn, Kaleigh hopped right onto Santa's lap. I tried to put Jacob on his other knee and he got upset. Mrs. Claus then took him and placed him on her lap. Jacob eyed the basket of candy canes on Mrs. Claus's lap and sat there contently. After a few photos the kids got their candy canes and a good experience with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Today, Kaleigh told me: "Mommy, when I get bigger I'm gonna put my boogers in the tissue and not on the carpet..."

And I'm gonna leave you with that comment... yeah...

Hey Everyone!

Hope everyone is doing well! We are doing good. I hope to update this site more often than the blog we have over at Blogspot. This site seems easier to update and I like the format better than Blogspot.

Well, it's been a little more than a year since we moved from Brooklyn, NY to West Jordan, UT. We love Utah. We feel it is "the place" for our family. We love how close we are to nature and how family friendly the public places are. For example, Smith's Supermarket has toddler size mini shopping carts for the little ones to push around and put groceries in.

Kaleigh is 4 yrs old now. She loves going to preschool, Primary, her Sunbeams class, and playing at the playground with her friends and neighbors. Kaleigh's preschool teacher is a member of our ward and the preschool is in her own home. She's great with the kids and Kaleigh has learned a lot from her.

Jacob is 1 1/2. He is such a boy. He loves to climb, play rough, hit things and roar. He's really into trucks, cars, planes, and dinosaurs right now. Jacob is currently in parrot mode and repeats everything that we say. We love that he is learning to talk and expressing himself with words instead of grunts.

Chris left Chase Bank about 2 months ago to start a new career with American Express. He is currently training to be a customer service professional. He will finish his training at the end of this month and that's when his bonuses will kick in. We really look forward to the bonuses as we are saving to buy a home of our own.

As for me, I am home with the kids. I love staying home with Kaleigh and Jacob. I can't imagine a better job than taking care of my kids even with the stress that comes with being a mom. I just completed my driving lessons. Hopefully, I'll be able to get my license soon. I just need to practice parallel parking a few more times.
