Hudson is almost 2 years old! He is growing up fast and telling us who is boss. He loved the 4th of July parade and seeing the fire truck. He still has a passion for playing ball, but is getting into cars now. He can say his name and it's the cutest thing! He can count to 10 with some help (he misses 3 and 4 and sometimes 7). He knows most of his primary colors and we are working on shapes. Right now Gymnastics is his favorite activity along with painting. Allan and I are doing well and even planning a trip to Vegas for just the two of us! We are both looking forward to Hudson 2nd birthday party.
Hudson 16 mo.
Hudson turns 17 months in a week!! He is talking up a storm now and has been walking since 14 months. He knows so many words and adds more and more each day. He repeats what we say so we have to be careful now!!
His big thing is to Yodel... it's the cutest thing in the world. He got it from his Toy Story Woody drawstring doll - When you pull the string it says, "A cowboy without a hat is like a yodel without a yo he who". He says, "Bye Bye Mamma" now and calls his Binky a "BB". He communicates super well and makes our life a little easier. Instead of screaming to let us know he is done eating he actually tells us "All done". FINALLY... that was not a fun stage!
He is a great little kid. Super sweet!! He gives Captain hugs all the time even though Captain does not want them. :0) He has found a new friend in Captain.
He knows how to use a spoon, which means he won't let us help him eat. He is very independent and loves to be outside. He is not really a tv watcher - about 10 minutes is all we can get out of him. Allan and I are getting a fence installed in the backyard just for Hudson and of course for Captain too!! This is by far my favorite age! I can't wait to see what else our little boy will be doing in the coming months.
10 months old!
Hudson is 10 months old and so much fun! He is crawling, eating grown-up food, and has found the door stopper. He loves to feed himself with is hands, and is trying to get the spoon/fork thing down. Soon he will be standing and on his way to walking. The little guy is growing up! Allan and I are doing well and looking forward the Hudson's first Birthday!
Update 2/15/09
Well, I have been back to work for 1 whole month now. We are finally in the swing of things in the Miller house. Work is going well and Hudson is adjusted to daycare and his new friends and teachers.
Allan and I traded his old Honda Accord for a Honda CRV! I love it except it's smarter than us right now.... can't figure out the navigation system in the darn thing. I guess we'll HAVE to read the directions!! :0)
Things are just moving right along. Hudson is growing and growing and just learning things so fast. We are so excited every day to see what else he is going to do. We'll keep all our friends and family updated with pics and videos.
Back to work 1/18/09
I have less than 2 weeks before I return to work! Allan and i are nervous about leaving Hudson at a daycare, but I know tons of people do it. I will just have to buck up and do it!! I'm sure everything will go smoothly and it will be just fine. I will just have to cry it out!!! :0(
It's been 8wks since Hudson's birth!
I can't believe it's been 8 weeks since Hudson was born! He is such a good baby. We really lucked out!! I am looking forward to Christmas to introduce him to my grandmothers for the first time!!
Just 5 more weeks to go
OMG!! It's getting closer. I still have to clean out the car, put in the car seat, pack my suitcase..... blah blah blah......
Around 10:30 pm on Sat. the 17th my water broke, although I did not think it did. I felt like something happened, but just did not even think Hudson would come early. Around 12:30 am on Sunday the 18th I knew something was really going on! I woke Allan up and told him we should go to the hospital just so they can send us home. Allan woke up and took a shower, as I got our bags together. I called my mom and sister on the way to hospital. It was very exciting!
Once at the hospital they admitted me and told me that for sure my water was broken! I fell asleep around 2 am and woke up around 8 am. The doctor checked me and I was only at 1 cm. They gave me Pitocin and I got an epidural. Every so often the nurse would come in and make me put on an oxygen mask and turn me on my side. She was worried about the babies heartbeat! Finally at 4 pm my doctor checked me and I was only at a 2! He said they were giving me strong contractions and being on Pitocin for 8 hours I should be further along, with the baby's heartbeat going up and down... something was wrong and he recommended a C-Section. My sister, Kirsten, was at the hospital and was going to be in the room for the delivery. With a C-Section she was not allowed in the OR and was bummed about it. It was nice of her come all the way in from Houston - she stayed to see Hudson!
I was prepped for surgery and at 5pm we had our baby!! I can't get over the shivers I had due to all the drugs I was given. It was all worth it though!
Allan was a champ through it all and stood by my side the entire time. He had diaper duty while we were in the hospital since I was unable to get in and out of bed.
I will never forget my hospital stay. It was such a bonding time for me and my baby. Hudson slept on my chest each night and just looked up at me every chance he could. It was amazing!
