there are a lot of things to be thankful for. in this hard times, we might only remember how bad the day goes and what the future might bring. instead, we should be thankful for another beautiful day. the sun shows its glorious face again, the beautiful friends we have, our family that keeps us going, our enemies that molds us to become stronger, new people we meet, lessons we get from our children, the laughter, wisdom we learn as each day goes by. after all, the life we have now is the life we made in the past. happy monday!
i met my cousins...
yesterday, i had a blasts during yama's birthday. aside from it was all fun again (courtesy of the kfc crews, we've been celebrating wabi and yama's birthday there yearly),i met my cousins from abroad, christy, kim and stephany. they celebrated with us and was game all the time and i feel so happy with their presence. this is their first time in the PI (as uncle call it) and i feel good because they like it here. i just hope i could spend more time with them since they are due to leave at the end of the month and i got stucked with all these office work.. hayyyy... short vacation. better than not having any. hehehehhe. we will have a reunion on saturdaay, dancing and drinking i guess.. and on sunday they will visit my house. i will serve filipino snacks, tambo tambong, pansit with vinegar, suman, kakanin, mangoe, etc. yummy. too bad im on a diet now (again). im looking forward on those days... we should not miss going to the beach though, and vigan, and baguio. shoots! its raining outside!! goota go. have again a 5pm meeting. damn.
begin with the end in mind
as i have been reading stephen covey's 7 habits of highly effective people ( which i recomend you read it too, its a great book!), this chapter, begin with the end in mind, is one of my favorites. it simply challenges you on how you precede things. to make it short, it says picture you are going to a funeral. as you go in you find a lot of people you know only to find it when you looked in the casket, it wasyou. what would these people, your loved ones, most especially, you want them to say during your funeral? what would you want your child to say on your ending? your work mates? your friends? other people? would you want that in your END, they would remember you as a great person? caring, loving, respectable? there is a way to do that. you BEGIN now caring, loving, respecting others and live as a good person. thats how you BEGIN wiith the END in mind.
"no one can hurt you without your consent"
eleonor roosevelt said no one can hurt us without our consent. true enough. the only reason why we are hurt is because we let it. being a mormon, i was taught long time ago that the greatest gift our Father gave us is the freedom of choice. we can always choose. and the choices we made yesterday shaped what we are today. i am so happy we have the ability to choose. its a miracle that we can decide if we want to be rich or poor, sad or happy, misserable or not. i made a promise to myself that i will be more wise in making choices in my life. that i will be a better person, since i know that the only way i can show my greatfulness to God is make me the best i can be.
just as when all hopes are gone
it was a gloomy monday today.. that's what i thought. i really started my monday not good by , listening to a negative thought. for the past few days, it seemed hopeless to sell shares despite all efforts, with the global financial crisis, company policies, lack of support, this and that, it all seemed useless.
inasmuch as i wanted to be positive and focus, it seems not to work since there are no much good response of the market. whats more difficult is you cannot have control over it.
after all the pressure i gave myself, i had two beach club sales this afternoon. well i thought thats a relief since just as when i thought all hopes were gone, i asked for blessings to God and the answer came quick. im so thankful. i thought, i needed this sale so much to restore my energy and my enthusiasm, and it came just at the right time.
God is great. he listens to my prayers most of the time. im not worthy of such blessings since i know i am missing things to show my greatfulness to him. this is his way of reminding me i am her daughter and that despite everything, He loves me and wathces over me, just as when i thought all hopes are gone.
cramming
today is a cram day. despite the fact that i still only have 1 sale for the month, my schedule is tight with sales calls to various potential client. yet, i am savoring every single pressure i have at the moment. so this is sales... tough but rewarding.
i just hope i will get over this week successfully. im organizing a cocktail party in baguio inviting local officials and stake holders. rsvp. confirmed attendees as of 11:05 am 10 pax.
wish me luck, heheheh. i need it this time
sunday is a scrap day
i always make it a point that i spend most of my time with wabi and yama on sundays. either we go and eat out at the carinderia near the house or as grand as out-of-town trips. now i have added a new task every sunday, that is to make scrap pages with the kids. at first, they are more of an "istorbo" rather than a help because they tend to do things their way (imagine a 5 year old and 3 year old makukulits). so i get mad and spend more time reprimanding them rather that enjoying it together. so i made it a point where they could enjoy the activity by asking them what they want and finding it a way to incorporate their ideas to the project. after all, sunday should be "their" day rather than this.

bong. glynis. wabi. yama.
my march page wabi was awarded the top 1 in her class when she was in nursery. she had K1 during the summer and advanced in K2 this school year. this will definitely be on my 2008 album. my 2008 album
this is the front page for my 2008 album where all the most important events of the year will be compiled through shutterfly. i got so excited when i had wabi's bday printed in their photobook. its so convenient to make. im targeting about 40 pages, maybe 24 of which are scrap pages. im still lacking 15, hehehhe. its going to be a hectic month then.
thunderbird christmas party invite
this is the ticket i made for thunderbird christmas party. let's party all!!!
1st time tatay
this is a day old picture of wabi. and tatay is savouring each day, hour, minute, second of his new role as a father. looking back, there is no difference on how tatay feels and do his job. he change only for the better and we love him so for that.
bride this picture was taken while waiting for the wedding ceremony to start. i still can smell the flowers even up to this day. it wasnt a bongang bongang wedding, what matters most is i will be married to the man i trully loves and loves me back more as he always say... june 25, 2001 this is a scanned picture during our wedding day, 7 years ago. so happy to say we are growing strong. having each other makes life more meaningful. oh how we look so young here. beach bum
the innocence of yama's face in this picture reminds me of childhood. how innocent a child is, exploring, wondering, undisturbed. during this day, she just sat down at the beach, playing with the sand. not a postcard perfect beach but definitely a poscard perfect portrait.
happy birthday wabi!
wabi's 6th birthday. we had so much fun on wabi's birthday at kfc. i credit nit to the mfun-loving people of kfc who made a great party for my wabi. they already know wabi since we have been yearly celebrating it with them, so i get more favors, more games, prizes, etc.
during her candle blowing, she closed her eyes and made a wish. i wonder what it is??? heheheh.
happy birthday wabi!
friends
to have friends such as maan, shine, mylene and bell makes enough reason to laugh and to laugh from small things to big time happenings and to laugh more until we cry. thank you for the gift of friendship!
supermodel
how i love this picture so much since yama has such a great smile. she is not bothered by the camera at all!
after doing this, i showed yama the result of about an hour and 3 days of lay outing this project, i thought she would like it because i used colors, and elements she likes like flowers, and blue background. as soon as she sees it, she was complaining because she said she look orange, and that her hair was brown! i applied sepia by the way. i was really laughing hard how she complained how she looked. hahahahaha!!!
thinking
this picture was taken while travelling and the kids have put up a lot of faces in the camera, but this one is my favorite. looking at wabi staring outside the car and seemed thinking about someting, made me realize my kids are getting bigger. they somehow have their own mind, thinking. it seems unreal to comprehend that sooner or later they will grow up, make decisions for themselves and make choices..whether good or bad. i only wish they would still feel that we, their parents are just behind them, watch over them and if neede, will always be there for them.
tattoed
this is bong's head. his first tatoo in his life at age 42! well, prior to those times he already had a clear idea what tattoo he will have. ofcorse my name and his children. according to the tattoo artist he got, never did he had someone to put the art in the scalp because obviously its going to be painful. well, that only made it easy since bong is kind of extreme. hahahahaha! so there goes our names on his head. often i would joke that he shouldnt do it because he will have a hard time erasing it just in case we separate in the future. he said he will not erase it, rather, just put number 1 in my name with an ex mark and number 2 to whoever my successors name would be. heheheh. gave him a big slap on the face after. hehehehehe vigan city
this is one of my favorite lay outs. i thought, i finally had it with digital srapbooking. from this day on, i enjoyed scrapping.. digitally.
this was taken in the heritage city of vigan. this is called the bell tower.
sisters
wabi and yama most of the time enjoy each others company. this oicture was taken during the purchase of new dolls that eventually lasted for 12 hours... as always.
dancing in the rain how children love playing in the rain!
funny faces
this was taken during a visit to lolo's house, where all of the cousin (well, most of them) is around. just look at how they make fun with themselves! sheer joy.
this is the first scrap project i ever made digitally. its really hard to start making one. you always think, what should i do today? thanks to inspiration i get from the industry, i can somehow get things started, and as soon as the thought is there, it would be easy from that time on.
wabi has always been a very smart girl. she is already a good reader at the age of 5. she is very good with math as well. her father taught her well, despite the fact that both argues when it come to studying time, they seemed to know how each other, how her tatay hates when she whines too much and how wabi hates it when tatay forces her to study too much. at the end, they would kiss and make up. i am blessed with my family. they are the reasons i would smile, the mere thought of thinking of them.
live by the day. finally i got the feel of blogging here. before it seems too complicated for me. but thanks to these scrap projects i am able to learn how to do it.
i called this page FLOWERS. despite the fact those roses, where yama, my youngest daughter, is smelling it is actually artificial, she assumed it was real flowers and after the shot, she came to me puzzled if these were real or not. i finally said that it wasnt. another lesson she learned, not everything is real. i just hope as she grows, she will have the wisdom she needs to live life.

Looking for that PERFECT Holiday Gift?? Are you looking for that perfect holiday gift?
I know what your thinking... holiday shopping already?? But it can be difficult to find that perfect gift for significant others, parents, grandparents or yourself?
I have the perfect idea for a classic, timeless gift that will be enjoyed everyday. A gorgeous piece of artwork? And by artwork, I mean a canvas print of your loved ones. What is a canvas print? A canvas design print is where a photo is blended beautifully with natural textures, grain, meaningful text, custom images and color to create an image perfect for printing on canvas. Perfect to create the gift of a lifetime.
Custom Canvas Design by Sahlin Studio: A custom canvas art design to display in your home, office or any place that needing beautiful art work.
Here are some examples of my completed work:
I will work with you to design a custom canvas art work beautiful enough to display in the finest of galleries. Whether you want a canvas of each child, your wedding photo, your family, the kids together or all of the above. These would also be beautifully done with photos of your home, cabin or favorite vacation spot. I've created a multiple canvas discount, purely because when I am working on a canvas I have all of my "tools" out and it is extra easy to just change out images and start working on my next custom canvas design project. It is much easier to do two or three in a row than it is to do one today and the others tomorrow.
Pricing includes the custom digital canvas design. You are able to your take your design to a printer of your choice or I can help you select a printer. I've found canvas printing prices to be very affordable (who knew?) Canvas printing ranges by size and company (I have found superior quality work that can be printed around $30-$55).
Which makes you CUSTOM artwork only around $85 for a 12 x 12 print (custom designed, printed and shipped) to your home!!
Can you think of a better gift?? And SO original!!
Here are some more detailed pictures of a canvas print that are gallery wrapped. When a canvas is "gallery wrapped" the printed portion of the canvas continues around the sides and the back. No frame is needed to display your custom print.
Here is a picture of how several canvases look displayed in my home. (I designed and printed them at 12 x 12)
Order your Custom Canvas Design TODAY! And get a head start on your holiday shopping!
So This is Love Quickpages Is your BUSY time catching up with you yet? Running errands, getting costumes ready, to parties, etc? I sure hear ya!! We've been busy carving pumpkins, school field trips and gearing up for the cooler weather that is approaching.
I have a new set of Quickpages out today, based on So This is Love kit. So This is Love was inspired by Cinderella's Castle at WDW and being one of my first kits it has a soft spot in my heart. I have gotten numerous requests for some of the pages that my CT have done... so here is your opportunity to have them!! Straight from their scrapbooks to yours.
Hope you have a great end to your week!! And as always...Happy scrapping!
Its Beginning to Look alot like... Halloween?? This was here on Friday Yes, four days ago. Luckily it melted already. Whew.
A Story of Friendship Hi Everyone! Sometimes people ask where I come up with inspiration for my kits and projects I create. And my response is usually so simple.... my photos! The number one reason for being a designer is being a scrapper first and foremost!! And as I look through the previous years photos left to scrap, they aren't always the BEST pictures... but those that I've been waiting for a certain kit to scrap them with.
And that leads me to what I have out today. I have SO many pictures of Sophie and I from when we took a trip to a certain famous "doll" company in Chicago. Using this as my inspiration came, A Story of Friendship. A Story of Friendship is a celebration of all things girl. Big girls, little girls, baby girls. With plenty of pink and a dash of classy neutrals for balance, this kit has everything you need to scrap all of those special friendships. Whether it be the story of your little one's first sleep over, the first time she met with that oh-so-special dolly, or even a group of girlfriends going out for a night on the town, you will have just the perfect assortment of papers and delicate elements to make your project beautiful.
Happy Scrapping! Oh and you know I love me some comments!! Let me know what you think!
SNEAKY PEEK I am SO SO SO CRAZY excited to show you what I have coming out tomorrow!! I wish the time would move faster. Till then, here's a little peek-see:
A Whisper of Fall We made it to our destination safely!! The train ride was short, but so much fun! I forgot how smooth the train felt to ride in it, make smoother than riding in a car. The bummer was we where only on for about 45 minutes and we were to our stop!
Now onto todays' release!! I love when you wake up to cold smelling air. You just know that the season of fall was upon us. To me, there is just nothing better than Fall. Apple cider, pumpkin pie, spending time with the family before the hustle and bustle of the holidays. And let's not forget the beauty of the outdoors. Yeah, nothing is better than that. To celebrate the wonderfulness of Fall I have two new element packs for you this week that I hope you will love. Here, take a peek!
I couldn't fit it all in one preview, so here is another look!
Whispers:Fall is the perfect way to add touch delicate beauty to youautumnal layouts. Made from layers of scattered leaves and goldensparkles, this element pack is sure to lend a warm and elegant feel toany project! Pack includes pre-shadowed leaf elements (11 of them) and one scrolled border.
And I'm not quite done yet! I have one more fun element pack for you this week. Take a look at: Say It With Metal Vol. 1 by Sahlin Studio:
Some Inspiration:
Leave me a comment and tell me what you think! Have a great weekend and Happy Scrapping!! Sneaky Peek! Here is a quick little peek of whats coming tomorrow (Friday)!!
Then... I'm off! It is MEA Thursday/Friday, so the kids are off from school. I decide to surprise them and book tickets on the Amtrak train to go visit some friends! I am so excited to see there gleeful faces!! Have a great rest of your week! I'll be back on Friday morning to post my cool new stuff!!
I've been busy!! Last week was so nice, I took a few days and just plain ole' scrapped!! Here are a few of layouts I did.
Click to See Credits Tuck and Wave Hello all!! Goodness, I am SO happy it is Friday!! I was looking forward to the weekend. My kiddos are quietly playing in their rooms, .... (they don't have school today) and I am sitting down for a nice chat with you all!!
SO excited to show you what I have out today.... a set of Tuck n Wave templates. They are not exactly "classic" templates, meaning, there are not spots for pictures or places for the elements to go. But rather a template to get you started on your own creativity. Believe me, it will EASILY get you out of your ordinary scrapping "box"! Tuck n Wave was inspired by a style of layouts that I've seen with a slightly more whimsical style. My friend Brenda (kaleandkiara) does these type of layouts and I am floored each time she does it. So I used her as my inspiration for these REALLY cool templates (Thank you hun!)
HAPPY SCRAPPING!! Can't wait to hear if you like these!!
Last Call for the Bundle! and a few of my layouts! LAST CALL!! Yep! This week is the last call for the entire bundle package at the discounted price!! Then it will be pulled out of my shop FOREVER! So grab it now!!
I've decide to take a week off from a New Release this week and instead..... SCRAP! HAHA!! OR a least it seemed that I finally got to scrap a bit! Here are a few pages that I've done over the past few weeks. There's a few. hee hee. I need to get on the ball and blog more often!
My "Not So Happy" Fairytale Some of you may remember a certain trouble I had with my infamous External Hard Drive. Well, and for those of you who don't.... ahhh.... I can fill you in!!
"Once upon a time....there was a beautiful young woman (errr...by beautiful I mean 'still in my PJ's at 2pm', and by young I mean '30 is the new 20') Anyways...once upon a time there was a beautiful young woman who spent her days slaving tirelessly at her computer. She loved her job, and spent many (many-as in 'I think I have carpel-tunnel and my eyes are seeing spots) hours working at the computer. One hot summer day, she was opening up her EHD (yes, this is a very technical fairytale), when Lo and Behold-her stash had vanished. All her scrapping kits, supplies, pictures, all GONE.
She wept real tears (yes, I did...big fat ones) and cried for her fairy godmother. Twinkle twinkle twinkle, down came the fairy godmother who smiled upon the beautiful woman and said, "Well, what happened, didn't you back up?" The handsome prince galloped in (I called my hubby at work and begged him to find someone to fix it-ASAP!) and searched high and low for one who was wise enough to cast such a spell. After weeks of searching the countryside (lots of disappointing phone calls and emails), he found one wise enough to cure the EHD of it's memory loss. When the beautiful woman heard how much it cost ($2,000 FREAKIN dollars, thank you very much) She gasped in horror. "
So in an attempt to crawl out of my DEBT... I am having a little fundraiser! I'm offering all of my products new, out today, at a HUGE-ly discounted bundle price. Everything I make off of these products will go towards paying off some my EHD expense!
Cool right? Good for you and good for me!! Don't miss this AWESOME SAVINGS!!!
Here is a little inspiration, in hopes that this will convince you to support my little cause. HAHA!!
Please help this fairytale end happily - buy my bundle.
THE END
Oh.... P.S. If you haven't got the memo... backup!
Check back tomorrow!! Something really big...coming tomorrow!!
Come and Play!! FRIDAY IS HERE!! YAY!! And you are going to want to play with what I have new today!!
I have TONS of those "not so pretty" pictures of my kids just sitting on my hard drive. You know, those shots taken of the kiddos at the park or when they are playing with their toys, just everyday type stuff. (whispering) "Although most of these pics don't always have the best lighting conditions, and it seems like my kids aren't ever looking at the camera... and they are making a goofy face at the camera. HAHA!!" But I've always found it SO difficult to find kits with COLOR to scrap these moments!!! So here's COLOR, baby!!
I've teamed up with Molly of DeCrow Designs to bring you this HUGE collab called, "Play". It is chocked full of vibrant color, fun, and uniqueness. This kit was so inspired by the everyday play times in our life. So whether you want to scrap about your kids, your pets or just the everyday fun in your life this would be PERFECT!!
And for a little SAVINGS$$ Play Bundle by Decrow Designs and Sahlin Studio: READY FOR A LITTLE INSPIRATION?!? :Warning: There are quite a number of them, get ready to be inspired!
OH Gawrsh.... I almost forgot something, but I bet you didn't!!! hee hee Here's a little something for you to "play" with, right now!!

I am looking forward to a weekend at HOME!! Yes, I will be home for a whole weekend! I DO love traveling, but time spent and home is just as precious to me!! I am envisioning a trip to the local apple orchard with the kiddos, and lots of time to scrap for me (hopefully)!!
I have a mod-podge of goodies for you today! Scroll on down and check them out!
Vellum Alpha: Are you looking for a realistic-looking Vellum Alpha? If you like the look of vellum, but struggle with creating a nice, subtle shadow that doesn't overwhelm your page, you are going to LOVE this alpha! This alpha is offered in my full Blessed kit, but I decided to offer it separately for the folks that wanted it!!
Some Inspirational layouts for you.
Explore.Learn.Grow. Quickpages One of the best things about quickpages, besides the fact that they move scrapping into warp speed, is that they can help you scrap in so many different styles and ways you might not normally feel comfortable. Without the work!! These Explore. Learn.Grow. pages were crafted by my wonderful CT members, and I think they just hit it out of the park! This set of seven pages is perfect for everything from a first week of school album to a teacher gift. And the best part? All you have to do is plop your photos in!
Here are some of the original layouts (with pictures in) for you to get an idea of how they look!
Blessed Quickpages: My team was very busy this week. In addition to the Explore.Learn.Grow. quickpages, they also created a set with Blessed! These eleven (11) beautiful quickpages are fully of gorgeous and dainty details, and can be used for romantic, religious, or wedding pages or use them all to make a book!
Here are more detailed pictures and some examples of them in use!
Have a great weekend!! And go get your scrap on!! I want to scrap like you when I grow up..... Hello everyone! and Happy Labor Day Weekend to those in the States!
Since I've started digital scrapbooking, I've met the most incredible people (some of which are you!!) Granted you are online friends... but you do have an impact on my life, everyday! Seeing all of your layouts and projects inspire me, and I LOVE seeing them!! I was elated when my friend and CT-er, Rebecca (RebeccaH), told me I could 'lift' any of her layouts! Now I am in awe when it comes to any of my CT, the layouts they create are SO amazing!! I totally want to scrap just like them, "when I grow up"! I had SO much fun looking through Rebecca's gallery, and picked out some FUN layouts to make into templates for you...so you too can scrap like Rebecca!! Thank you hun! No blushing now, your fabulous!!
Oh, and I have a little something extra for my Sahlin Studio Insiders today! If you haven't registered, be sure to sign up for newsletter!
Are you ready for some amazing inspiration?? Have a GREAT weekend, and happy scrapping!
School Time It seems really strange that school time is here...already. I wasn't ready for them to go back yet. It seemed like the summer just flew us by. Granted, this has been the coldest summer on record for a number of years in Minnesota, so it seems like we never had any beach or sprinkler worthy days. But sure enough, this day did approach.
And although I wasn't ready for them to go off... my two kiddos were SO excited to start school. Here they are in the school yard this morning.
I am just so proud of myself for not crying (I usually am a weeper at most events), but I do admit that I did tear up after seeing Gabe and his kindergarten class line up and go down the hallway after their teacher. He just looked so little and so cute.
I just realized that I haven't posted any of my layouts in...goodness... ages!! So here are a few of my latest.
Explore. Learn. Grow. So, I made it through the Great Minnesota Get-Together - The Minnesota State Fair! After lots and lots of fried food, most of which was on a stick, I'm dreaming of more. I made a list on the way home of everything I ate (OK I did share a little!) Started out the day with a iced coffee, and moved right on to a foot-long beef hot dog by about 10am. Then proceed with cheese on a stick, sno cone, pronto pup, quesidella, cinni minis, an ice cream float, cream puff, pickle on a stick, caramel apple, scottish egg, bucket of cookie (ok, I did not eat all of these), fried pickles (which were actually REALLY good), cheese curds (times two), another foot-long hot dog, fried buffalo chips, strawberry shortcake, pot roast sundae and finished with a nice funnel cake. Whew... I'm a little stuffed now though, and ready to loosen my pants. Yep, just a good day at the fair. Goodness I LOVE to eat.
OK..... on to the REALLY good stuff!
I'm sure like I, these past few and upcoming weeks have been busy for alot of you. It will sure be nice to get back to a more scheduled routine after all of the hustle and bustle of summertime, but on the other hand, it is sad to give up that extra time with our little, or not so little, ones. My baby is going into kindergarten and I can hardly believe that this time is here already! It is a bittersweet moment, as I'm sure it is for most moms out there.
So, back-to-school! Although we look forward to our children learning and growing in academics... learning goes way past "back to school". Whether it is moments walking through a nature center, exploring insects in the backyard or reading a book with your youngin'. These are all moments of learning... growing. That was my true inspiration when creating Explore. Learn. Grow. There are so many experiences that give a meaning of "LEARNING". So whether you have a little one going off to school for the first time, a child coming off the bus or you would just like to record other memories, this kit is perfect for your needs! Explore. Learn. Grow. is seriously stuffed full of unique elements and papers for all of your hybrid and scrapping needs.
It's OK people...leave me a comment!! Tell me if you like it! I like comments from you guys, REALLY!! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
SNEAKY PEEK A little something crazy good, coming tomorrow!!
I'm off to The Great Minnesota Get-Together, the State Fair!! Yummo! Visions of all things on a stick have been tempting me ALL week!! And I can't WAIT to see my kiddos!! They've been at gramma and papa's all week and I miss them like crazy! Yes, even the "Sophie, DON'T touch me!" or "Gabe, stop looking at me!", Yes, I even miss that!!
See you tomorrow!

On Biting Off More Than You Can Chew
Gabriella & Ruby - Ready to Rumble
(and you weren’t even hungry….)
As a few of you may have noticed, the Digital Freebies Boutique closed October 31st for re-structuring. A few more may have noticed that the Friday Freebies™ have been on hiatus for most of October.
I had hoped to wake up November 1 and simply push The Magic Button (also known as FileZilla) and “Voila!” – everything that needed to be done would AutoMagically be done.
Surely twenty days would have been more than enough time. All I needed to do was a site re-design, organize challenges and the creative team, make a bunch of freebies, and drive four children back and forth to school.
(This is where I gulp Good Earth Original Iced Tea, wallow in the caffeine and turn up the tunes….I’m loo-loo-losing my edge )
Alas, November 1st I was greeted with a sloth-like server, sick children, a grumpy printer, and eventually a trigger-happy finger that inadvertently overwrote the Digital Freebies home page. Oops a daisy!
But enough of that! November will be chock full o’ freebies and at four of them will be on Fridays. And that stereo I wrote about in April? The last time I posted? I just replaced it yesterday.
It’s lovely to be back…
The Littlest Things That Take Me There
The weekend flew back with typical weekend speed. The weather is gorgeous – bright, sunny, warm on my skin – it feels like summer.
I don’t remember last summer. Derek passed away March 1 and I don’t think I began feeling much else until the end of the summer…thus, I missed that warm skin feeling. It’s rather glorious, I might add.
My truck was broken into last night. Of course, they only took the stereo. I just bought the truck in January – the seller mentioned the stereo was “nice” and well, whatever…It plays music, right? Then it’s a-okay with me…
A few weeks ago, during the Sakura-con Weekend That Would Never End I had the alarm removed from my truck. Seems the “homegrown wiring” was randomly shorting out the 4-wheel drive, the right blinker and – this is the biggie – the windshield wipers. Ever try driving in Seattle without wipers? Just say no….
And so…it would make perfectly good sense that a few weeks later the stereo would be taken…However, I am not completely peeved – I have working wipers – yes! and no stereo to be stolen…So once I fix this now-missing passenger window – it should follow that I won’t get broken into again…
(And if I were writing a novel, that last sentence would be Very Heavy Foreshadowing…)
Operation Save Huggy, Lovey and Kissie
The Fish & The Phone - pre-rescue
Too many errands, too many things on my list and poor time management (i.e. taking time to sleep) collided with Ruby’s three goldfish – Huggy, Lovey, and Kissie this afternoon. Egads.
I was perched on Ruby’s stool re-organizing my cupboards to allow for my Coupon Madness at Albertson’s earlier (more on Coupon Madness later…). The phone rang and as the groomer informed me of Breezy’s new, super-cute state of existence, the phone slipped and I watched it ever so s.l.o.w.l.y slip into the goldfish bowl – located conveniently on the counter beneath me and fifteen boxes of Post cereal.
Sigh.
If it wasn’t 5:00-ish and time to think about dinner and time to get the dog (who was surely ready to kick over from the stress of hanging with the groomer all day) and time to get Hayley to voice at 5:30 and time to….I’m sure I’m forgetting something…
If it wasn’t all of those times right at that moment I’m confident I would have taken the time to Google, Wikipedia or in some other way consult the Great Internet Gods about Cordless Phones in Water…
But my brain wasn’t running as smoothly as it ought to and my first thought was – “OMG, I’ve electrocuted Ruby’s fish…..”
The wrath of Ruby, no matter how I might secretly long to flush those fish, terrified me. I hurried Ruby into Hayley’s room to hang with Audrey and requested Hayley’s assistance in Operation Save Lovey Huggy Kissie.
Tracy Not Thinking
After momentarily freaking out about “the electric water!” Hayley’s assistance consisted of photo journalism and transportation of each little fish via collander to the new tub of water with speedy efficiency.
FYI – I eventually realized the fish would have been instant fish sticks if the phone had actually charged the water in some way. I’m like, so totally NOT going to operate machinery in this state….

Shutterfly Digi Scrap Blog
Kellie Hann Mize : Recipe Template
Kellie Hann Mize from TheDigiChick created a freebie template some time back that continues to be requested year round from Shutterfly users. It is an adorable recipe template that will assist you in making an incredible recipe book in no time flat. (Maybe a family keepsake recipe book, a class recipe book for the teacher, or even a book of recipes for the bride to be) Whatever you choose, it is sure to turn out beautiful with this template.
Please feel free to download the template file below.
You can also visit a page of inspiration talking about a Shutterfly customer named Susie Roberts that found great joy in using the recipe template in her beautiful Christmas recipe book. Here is a link to the inspirational page from Shutterfly.
Digital scrapbooking templates definitely make life easier for busy scrapbookers. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but today I’m going to introduce you to a style of template you may not have used before, or even heard of. It’s a layered template that you assemble yourself.
This is not a grayscale template where you move your own paper onto the template and then group it with a layer. These are complete, no brainer, get-the-page-done-already templates using actual paper and elements from a kit. The only caveat is this: you have to assemble them yourself.
Why would we make templates you have to assemble yourself? Good question—and there’s a good answer for it: File size and flexibility. Let’s talk about file size first.
At Scrapper’s Guide we have a membership program called Digital Scrapper Premier that offers 4 pro level video tutorials, an exclusive designer kit, and a set of 16 layered templates, including a front and back cover and spine, made from the kit every month. Since I'm a raving fan of Shutterfly, all our templates are made to Shutterfly's specifications to make it easy to create your photobooks.
The first templates we made were one layer PNG files, but our members wanted the ability to remove or rearrange elements. People living in warm climates, for example, didn’t want snowflakes on their layouts.
The file size of layered PSDs was prohibitive, but we discovered that if you separated the layers, you could dramatically reduce the file size. A layered PSD that was 89 MB could be reduced to 10 MB by simply placing each layer in a separate file inside a single folder.
Don’t ask me how that works, but it does!
Flexibility is also a key benefit. You can easily move items around or resize a layered template so it fits a page size other than 12x12 inches. Watch a video on resizing layered templates. Because the templates are layered, you can also use the individual elements on other pages you make.
We’d like for you to experience the magic of our layered templates, so I’ve included this link for you to download a set of two complimentary layered templates from the October Premier for you to practice on. They’re made by Scrapper’s Guide Creative Team member Jenny Jorgensen using the kit Happy Harvest by Susan Bartolini.
This kit and template set is currently available only to Premier members. When the November Premier issue comes out, we’ll place the October videos, kit, and coordinating templates in our store. We hope you enjoy this sample set of templates for your fall photos!
Check out our previous layered templates to get an idea of the creative possibilities. I guarantee you’ll be inspired!
Thank you : Kim Gehring
A big thank-you to Kim Gehring from PixelGypsyDesigns who has shared a bundle of inspiration and freebies with us. We are thrilled that she has a bit more to share before she leaves. Enjoy!
What is your favorite Holiday? Do you have any fun scrapbook traditions or project traditions that you do during the holiday season?
"Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love the excitement that overflows from my kids and the quality time I get to spend with my whole family. I don’t have any scrapbook or project traditions, but I do love to scrap holiday photos. :-) "
Do you hybrid scrapbook and if so tell us about your experience with it ?
"I like to create hybrid gifts like money envelopes, altered blocks for holiday decorations, cd case calendars, and goodie bags with special treat toppers. Unfortunately, time always gets the best of me and I run out of time to photograph these projects."
Kim has created one last freebie quickpage template for us to download below but she has shared her blog address with us at http://kg-designs.blogspot.com where she says she has all sorts of freebie downloads. Check it out!
Kim Gehring from PixelGypsyDesigns has a solution for all of those cute Halloween photos that you now have developed and want to scrapbook. She has provided us with the a darling mini kit called "My Little Ghoul." You can download the files and create layouts in Photoshop or other similar software programs. We would love to see what you end up creating! Please remember that all downloads are for personal use only!
"My kids are a big inspiration for me, which is why my designs usually end up bold and fun. I'm also very inspired by color. I could easily spend hours browsing design and craft blogs or magazines just enjoying the color schemes!"
Since our Blog is about celebrating “Everyday Life” Kim shares a layout below and tells us about the special everyday celebration.
"This layout is special to me because it highlights the relationship between my kids. Despite their six-year age difference, my kids share a strong bond that makes me so proud to be their mom. They love each other to death! "Best Buds" captures them at these special moments...reading together, playing, cuddling."
Celebrate Halloween: With Kim Gehring!
Kim Gehring from PixelGypsyDesigns tells us about her scrapbooking history and shares a wonderful Halloween Freebie!
How long have you been scrapbooking?
"I started digi scrapping about two and half years ago. I’m a graphic designer (and a total computer geek ), so it was the natural way for me to go over paper scrapping. Last January I started playing around with designing. It was so much fun that I soon found myself spending waaay more time designing than scrapping. I joined the Pixel Gypsy Designs team in July, and now I try to mix my design time with scrapping time."
Do you hybrid scrapbook and if so tell us about your experience with it.
"I like to create hybrid gifts like money envelopes, altered blocks for holiday decorations, cd case calendars, and goodie bags with special treat toppers. Unfortunately, time always gets the best of me and I run out of time to photograph these projects."
Check it out, Kim created an adorable Halloween card freebie for you all to download. It is adorable and this is just one of a few to come! Enjoy and remember that all freebies are for personal use only.
A special hello to Kim Gehring from PixelGypsyDesigns . We are so excited to have Kim here with us as we head into the Halloween season. She is full information, inspiration and of course wonderful Halloween freebies!
Lets start off by getting to know a bit about Kim!
"I’m a thirty-something mom to two awesome kiddos (9 and 3), a full-time admin/graphic designer, and a digital scrapbook designer for Pixel Gypsy Designs. I’m a really laid-back person who is usually found working behind the scenes to make sure things run smoothly. I enjoy spending lots of time at home with my family and, in my spare time (when I’m not designing!), I like reading and gardening. I’ve never been one to talk much about myself…I’m a much better listener. So I’d love to hear from you about what you like and what inspires you to scrap."
Below is a great layout created by Kim! Enjoy and check back often in the next couple of weeks to collect some wonderful Halloween treats.
Susan has one last treat for all of us. She has created a rich, beautiful mini-kit that is perfect for the season. We hope you enjoy downloading the kit and creating a project perfect for the holidays! Please remember that all freebies are for personal use only!
What is your favorite Holiday and do you have any fun scrapbook traditions or project traditions that you do during the holiday season? ?
"Christmas! I love making an extra special QuickPage, framing it, and then giving it as a gift. I am also going to continue the tradition of making Holiday Shutterfly books for the family as extra special gifts."
With Fall well underway and Thanksgiving coming in a month Susan created an adorable freebie QuickPage perfect for the season. Of course the QuickPage is Shutterfly ready so you can put your own pictures and journaling on it and have it printed just in time for the holidays at Shutterfly!
Since our Blog is about celebrating “Everyday Life” Susan has offered to share a layout and a quick paragraph telling us about a special everyday celebration in her life and what made it so special.
"This is a layout entitled “Life”, and it represents the little things that we miss the most when it’s gone. This is a layout with my son, daughter and granddaughter having an informal breakfast on one of their trips back home for the holidays and it just made me realize how much I missed them being home and sharing some family time".

My All Time Favorite Song is the title for this next layout that I am about to share with you. I love the song because of its melody and its lyrics. It is the perfect song that describes my feelings towards my precious daughter, Hannah. Check it out:
Inspired by this song of Michael Ruff, I was able to create a very sentimental layout. I think the title says it all so I did not add any journaling anymore. I decided to make my title as thr main focus, I was really emotional while making this layout. I listened to the song repeatedly so that I can pour every inch of my heart to this layout.

xoxo LG Quick Post! Quick Layout! For today I would love to share to you a quick layout that I did using some photos capturing my DD being observant and doing what she had seen. I really love taking photos of Hannah spontaneously capturing ordinary priceless moments. These photos are very important to me because I would like to share this experience with my daughter when she's older
On this particular day, she was watching a girl playing on an arcade game. She watched closely and after the girl left, she played it like a pro.
xoxo LG Very Busy Week! In the next couple of days life here at home will be very busy. Our new house is nearly completed and we need to start preparing things. We have lots of concern to address too like new furniture, sorting things to bring and not to bring, and bills and papers.
Life will be quite different so I try my best to scrap as much as I can and participate to some online crops and challenges to motivate me to scrap as much as I can.
The challenge was to create a layout inspired by this photograph:
Thanks for looking. Will post more projects in the next couple of days
xoxo LG
A Sweet Friend! I have been scrapping for a year now and I definitely owe it to all those blogs and scrappers that inspired me to try this craft. One of them is the very talented Nic Howard. I have seen and followed her blog way before I started scrapping. I was so fascinated with all her creations and talent. And she's one of the reason why I decided to start this hobby.
A few months ago Nic was looking for someone to help her edit her photos and since I am a huge fan, I voluntarily gave my service. It was my honor to help her because I would like to return the favor that I got from her, she has always been an inspiration to me. Since then I have been editing her photos and we became such good friends.
Yesterday while doing my daily routine of checking her blog, this sweet lady finished a layout using my DD's photos. It was breathtaking. I almost cried just seeing her layout with my DD on it. My DD saw it too and she immediately said "WOW, Hannah!"and she's only one.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank her for doing that. It is priceless. Thanks Nic!
xoxo LG Layout from Scraps We are all so fascinated and tempted to the idea of getting all the new lines that will be released soon by our favorite manufacturers but have you ever thought of disposing your scraps first? I do. I have been scrapping for only a year now and boy do I have lots of leftover scraps.
So I decided to oblige myself to NOT purchase anything new unless I have used all my scraps. By doing this, it will motivate me to maximize all my scrapbook purchases and save money. So to begin with, I just finished this layout using some leftover scrap papers.
Just a simple layout using some rectangular leftover papers . I think some of it are WRMK's WhiteOut line, Imaginisce and SEI. Layout was inspired by SD4U's Eerie Menu Challenge.
Thanks for looking

xoxo LG Im in the Veggie Top 10 List! Finally it's Friday! I have been waiting for this day to come honestly. I have been so tired with work and watching over a 1yr old daughter who is always on the go. I really can't imagine where they get those huge amount of energy, she doesn't stop. She keeps on running around, screaming, and picking all the stuff she can get her hands on.
I am just so tired.
Good thing I've noticed that one of my layouts was on TwoPeas Top 10 by votes for the past 2 days. I have seen several layouts of mine on their Top 10 list before but they usually stay there for a few hours. This time I patiently waited and guess what, it's still there. Woohoo! What a great view to revive my week. Top 3! c",)
Here is my layout:
For this layout I've used a past kit that I ordered from My Scrapbook Nook featuring Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird line.
Happy Friday!

xoxo LG Domestic Goddess??? Me??? I have never imagined in my life that I'll be a domestic housewife. I don't like cooking, cleaning and doing household chores but after several years of trying to avoid this, now I am here, a mother, a wife, a DOMESTIC GODDESS.
I am no perfect housewife at all. I still have some helpers doing the laundry and a nanny taking care of Hannah from time to time. I still have my "me" time, I still work full time and I still have a hobby. For me, this is the best compromise that life can give me. A well-balanced life.
And to document this part of my life, I decided to create a simple scrapbook layout using Graphic45's Domestic Goddess line that came with My Scrapbook Nook's October kit.
Remember, these kit are still available at My Scrapbook Nook. And remember, if you avail of our subscription, you'll get these kits for only $28 monthly. Featured at Graphic45's Blog You heard me right!!! With the help of my co-team member at My Scrapbook Nook, Susan Lui (also designing for Graphic45), some of our October kit projects for My Scrapbook Nook was featured at Graphic45's blog. Check it out by clicking the image above.
My layout included on it was:
xoxo LG Laughter is to the soul... as soap is to the body. I totally agree with this quote! Laughter is a need, a necessity. So where do you get your daily dose from?
I get mine from various origins. Friends, family, and yes... facebook! (lol) are just a few of my favorite source. My regular dosage of smile and laughter comes from my daughter Hannah. I just feel so alive and so young when I am with her. You know how kids are. They do such crazy and funny things without any prompting or prodding at all! I can just imagine how fun it is to be a child.. even if it's only for a few minutes.
This being said, I would like to share to you a simple layout that I did about my daily laughter with Hannah. This is my take for Category Stories October prompt 1. I have used some leftover Sassafras pps from my stash.
The photo used here was taken at a time I was fooling around with Hannah and giving her my hair for a temporary wig. She looked like Sadako from "THE RING". (Sorry it was a reference to a Japanese horror flick). I was totally out of my mind laughing and rolling with her. This was a very happy and carefree day for us.
This is me and Hannah fooling around. I love playing with her, it even makes me cry because I am so thankful for having her in my life. Thanks for dropping by!
xoxo LG Guess Who??? is the October GDT at Butterfly Crafts??? Yup me!!! Wipeeee!
Head on over to check out the next exciting challenge tomorrow and for the DT reveal!
xoxo LG A Unique Layout! Have you ever thought about how many people are nowadays? According to United States Census Bureau, as of October 14, 2009, the Earth population was around 6.79 billion. A lot right? But have you ever thought how God made us so unique to one another? Even twins have their own personality and being.
For me, there is really no definite explanation for this. God created man in his own image and likeness (Gen 1:27) and we have not seen God. What I do know is God is a friend, a mother, a father, a brother, a sister, a companion. He is everybody that is why we see God in each person he created. We are all unique in our own little way.
For my post today, I would love to share a layout that I created using My Scrapbook Nook October Kit featuring Graphic45's Domestic Goddess. In this layout, I used an old photo of Hannah blankly staring at the camera as if she was asking a question "who she is." My topic was how she is different from other babies and how we can see her uniqueness even as early as her age.
Here it is:
(photo was printed on a cream colored cardstock)

xoxo LG G45 Domestic Goddess!!! Happy Tuesday to you all!!!
After several days of rain and bad weather, I finally got my mojo back! It's a good day today to take photos of pending layouts that I finished last weekend. I tried taking pictures of my projects with a limited light source but everything was not right especially the colors.
I took advantage of this great day and started clicking away at my projects. This is what I will be sharing today :)
A few weeks ago, I have mentioned that My Scrapbook Nook's October Kit will feature patterned papers from Graphic45. Well, it's here!!! Got my kit last Thursday and you should see it, it is jam-packed with goodies. Just to refresh your memory, here it is:
Gorgeous right? This was actually my first time working with G45 pps. At first I was intimidated because there are few big patterns on it. If you have observed my previous creations, most of my stuff goes around with hand-cutting patterns from pps. After receiving my kit and seeing them in person, SNAP! Ideas started coming in. These are just perfect for adding some vintage feel to your layouts.
Remember, these kit are still available at My Scrapbook Nook. And remember, if you avail of our subscription, you'll get these kits for only $28 monthly. Avail of our 12months subscription and you'll get your 13th month kit for FREE. So hurry up! Sign up now! And dont forget to place my name on the referral field. ORDER HERE!!!!
Now, I would love to share with you a tutorial I did for an Altered Class that is available at My Scrapbook Nook Forum. This class features this gorgeous October Kit. Here is the finished project:
Thanks for dropping by. Will be posting a layout made from the October Kit tomorrow!
xoxo LG Creative Scrapper's Sketch #73 Happy Monday!

I want to thank Kristine Davidson for the opportunity and to all the fabulous DT who inspired me as I see their different takes to my sketches.

My Scrapbook World
My All Time Favorite Song is the title for this next layout that I am about to share with you.
More November Kit Layouts from My Scrapbook Nook Thank God it's Saturday!
I have been longing for this weekend for the past few days. Everything was so busy with work and with the family that I am so stressed out. I haven't scrapped since Sunday and I am looking forward to scrap this weekend and use some new scrappy purchase that I bought last Tuesday and some free scrappy stuff that I received from the mail.
For the meantime, I would love to share to you 2 layouts that I did using My Scrapbook Nook's gorgeous November Kit featuring Lily Bee's Audrey line. This was actually my first time with LilyBee and I love it! It was easy to work with and the colors is just right, not too dark, not too bright.

xoxo LG Quick Post!

And I thought Obama was done inflicting indignities on the American people! Please pass this to as many Americans as you can.
Go Down and click on Link: It starts, then pauses, then really gets into it.

EVERYONE--PLEASE TAKE TIME TO LISTEN TO THIS--IT TELLS ABOUT THE BILL GOING THRU CONGRESS RIGHT NOW REGARDING IMMIGRATION.
EVEN CNN IS GETTING UPSET ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!!!!
Pass this on after you watch it. NOTICE THAT THIS IS FROM CNN, NOT FOX!!!
Even if it seems there is nothing we can do about it
