The monthly Chamber of Commerce meeting was held at the Gooding County Historical Society Museum and the ribbon cutting was held after. Those attending had the opportunity of touring the museum and to look at those artifacts that have been donated over the past 40 years.

The lunch was exceptional, the speaker, Mayor Duke Morton, was informative, but the chance to visit and mingle with friends was spectacular.

Gooding County, Idaho Gooding County was established January 28, 1913 by a partition of Lincoln County. In the 1880s, it was part of Alturas County, which no longer exists. Mountain men and fur traders trapped the Malad River extensively in the early 1800s. Settlers came to the rich agricultural lands of the Hagerman Valley in the 1860s. The county seat is Gooding which was named for Frank R. Gooding, pioneer sheep rancher, early mayor of the city of Gooding, later Idaho Governor and U. S. Senator. Gooding County has an area of 733 square miles which includes the small farming communities of Bliss, Gooding, Hagerman and Wendell. | |
