Gosh it's been awhile since we posted what is going on. Her is the long and short of it. We moved back to Tx. Doug is now in a profession he enjoys and is serving people. Jade is now 15 months and walking and saying new words. I'm a SAHM and loving it.

Wow...How quick the time flys. We can't believe Jade is already 4 months. She is cooing, rolling, giggling, and put everything in her mouth now. She is really a happy baby. Jade is doing well and really coming into her own. Geez when she is tired though, she will let you and everyone else know. Her Mimi and Grandpa are coming to visit this July. We are getting ready to move to San Antonio soon and hope for the best.

Jade is doing good. She continues to grow long, and she is finally getting use to her daddy carrying her. Her least favorite things to do is have her diaper changed and sleep in her bassinet. Her favorite things to do is to hang out with daddy while he vacumns, talk to family on Skype, and eat.

Well, our little Jade is 2 weeks old. You have to hear this girl belch! She makes daddy proud! Here are a few updates since our last entry. Jade took her first professional pictures on March 2nd. We found Julie Campbell on the internet and were very impressed with her work. She will have a website up of all the pictures she took in one week. From the website, you can order pictures. Christine had a doctor appointment on March 6th. Her incision is healing up well and no longer needs doctoring.

Our friends are continuing to bring dinner to the house. Thank you so much!

Sadly, Mimi left back to Texas on Saturday, March 7th. We have been keeping in touch via Skype web video. If you have a webcam, let us know. Create a free account on Skype.

Aunt Millie and Aunt Jenn will arrive next week.

Thank you to everyone for the gifts that are continuing to flow in. Uncle RG, my friend and neighbor, baught Jade her first pair of sneakers, Converse!

 

Jade's first doctor appointment went good! She put up a strong fight. She did not appreciate having to be stripped down to her pampers and the doc putting lights in her eyes and pulling on her limbs. She gained five ounces. The doctor says she looks very healthy. Her next appointment is April 29th. She will get her first set of immunization shots. Tomorrow, we go over to GG's for dinner.

On Wednesday, February 25th, Mama and Jade where discharged from the hospital. Jade, Mama, Daddy, and Mimi are now resting at home. Balloons and "It's A Girl" signs can be seen from the patio. Jade slept fairly well. It took a little time for her to get use to her bassinet, but she really loves the cradel that was donated to us by Steve and Sherry Saccone. Friends will be bringing meals by every other day starting Monday. Jade became very popular at White Memorial Medical Center. For those of you who do not know, this is the same hospital Christine is employed. Co-workers, friends from Mosaic, Silver Lake neighbors, LATV former co-workers, and family all came to the hospital to welcome Jade.  Nelly and Shadow are adjusting to our new family member. Nelly is already in her motherly protective mode. She lays beside the cradle and continues to follow Christine around.

Today, Christine and Doug enjoyed a celebration lunch from the hospital. It consisted of stuffed chicken, baked potato, mixed vegetables, salad, roll, cheesecake, and sparkling cider. Mama and baby may be released from hospital Wednesday or Thursday. Thus far, Jade has been a really good baby. She hardly cries. She doesn't like it when her pamper gets changed unless Mimi (Christine's mom) does it. GG (Doug's grandmother) comes to visit everyday. Mimi baught some lovely dresses today for Jade. Nangie (Doug's mom) is sending a Madi Gra box from Louisiana. An article in the Refugio Texas County newspaper will announce Jade's arrival this week. We are looking forward to introducing Jade to her new home. On February 21, Christine's water broke at 9PM. Doug was in Los Feliz at the time and rushed home to pick up Christine and her mom. She was 6 cm dilated when we arrived at White Memorial Hospital. The staff there immediately moved her to the labor room. Mama was obviously in a lot of pain and requested an epidural. Through the process the contractions began to happen every minute. Suddenly more and more personnel started to come in the room. Dr. Shaw arrived and ordered Mama be immediately moved to operating room because the baby's heart rate was dropping. An emergency c-section would have to be done in order to save the baby. Doug changed into scrubs and was whisked in the room. Everything happen really fast, but before we knew it, we heard the wonderful sounds of a baby crying.

Well, the baby's room is pretty much ready. We have crib, cradel, bassinet, and glider in position. Christine has had three wonderful baby showers. The last one was at our friends', RG and Lynn, place. It was a co-ed shower and lots of fun. The Chinese Calender predicts the sex of the baby will be a girl. I asked Nelly today what the sex of the baby would be. I told her to smell my right hand if it is a boy or smell my left hand if it is a girl. She glanced at my right hand then walked over to my left hand, sniffed it, then licked it. So, looks like it may be a girl folks. First name is still pending. We just finished birthing classes on Thursday. I learned a lot, even though the instructor picked on me a little. The first day of class, she made me wear a 7lb. backpack reversed thus to emulate carrying a baby. Then she threw her water bottle on the floor and told me to pick it up. On the last day of class, she chose me to change the diaper on a lifelike baby. Needless to say, Christine and I feel a little more prepared. Grandma flys into town on the 16th. Even thought Christine is ready for this baby to be out, she really wants her mother to be here when she goes into labor. Stay tuned to our website for pictures. 

Well it's coming sooner than we think. That is the baby is coming. I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. The baby moves like crazy. Sometimes it looks like an alien poking and jabbing through my belly. It's a neat experience. I can't wait to meet this little person who has invaded my body.

While I have been feeling the baby move for quite some time now, Doug has never got to experience this joyous event yet. Until now. Everytime I would tell Doug to feel the baby kick it would stop moving as soon as Doug put his hand on my belly. Well Doug finally felt the baby kick and it was so exciting. What an amazing experience.

Doug & I just got back from our trip home. Doug had his ten year highschool reunion. My family surprised me with a baby shower. It was so exciting, I really wanted to have one with my family and I did not think it was going to  happen but they pulled it off. It was a nice surprise and trip home.

Well this week has been very trying for us. We had a scare on tuesday Aug. 26 when I started bleeding which no pregnant woman every wants to experience. I called my doctor's office and they told me to come in right away. They could not figure out the source of the bleeding so I was put on bed rest for the rest of the week and come back in a week to follow  up. The baby's heartbeat is still strong and everything on the ultrasound checked out fine. All is well so far...

So far all is going well. My nausea has not been too overwhelming. Doug has only had to clean up puke once. Lucky him huh? I feel more tired than anything. Sleep way more than usual. I'm ready for my energy level to pick back up.

We had our first OB appt on July 16. They did the usual blood work and vital signs. The Doctor (who we love!) answered any or our questions and concerns. Doug got to see and hear the heartbeat of the baby for the first time! It was an exciting time.

I took my first ultrasound today. I know it's early....but, come on I work in x-ray it's too hard not to. All you see is the sac right now. Pretty Cool!

We went to the Doctor today. They gave me another pregnancy test and confirmed I was indeed pregnant and started me on prenatal vitamins. Now I follow up with my OB-GYN in a couple of weeks.

Wow! On June 19, 2008 Doug and I found out that I was pregnant!

Congrats little brother. Just checking out the site for the first time and nice to see that you boh finally made the dip. I can see that Jade will have all the love and support that she will need. Hey Lil Brother...Checking out the site...So so so excited! Glad she's here...Can't wait to hold her and spoil her. Mom is thrilled.  Definitely a proud Nangie!  She is sending a Mardi Gras gift box.  Little "Jadie" is spoiled already but so what, right?!  Her little cousins Che, C.C. and Ezzy can't wait to hug and kiss her and of course fight over her. Now that her lil cousin is here Che is reconsidering her fear of flying...LoL!!!
