The G-Star Raw brand was launched in 1989 in the Dutch city of Amsterdam. We were holding originally referred to as Gap Star but changed their name right after launch while they believed it were built with a more international feel. In 1996 G-Star launched their Raw denim concept to critical acclaim. The theory behind the road was simple yet cutting edge, they died the denim cotton as normal throughout the manufacturing process, but then sold the jeans because they were instead of treating all of them with preserving agents. This resulted in upon washing they consumers would see the colour change and also the jeans shrink, they created the name Raw because the jeans were essentially raw untreated products.
The brand is revolutionary using its jeans collection and uses stitching, extra pockets and buttons to provide each style a very unique look, a number of other denim brands have attempted to copy their styles but never have come towards the originality and concentrate of G-Star jeans.
Their array of jeans is vast with every cut and colouring available plus they use organically produced cotton to make a new range of jeans. Many pairs from the their jeans feature the 96 logo, that can take its name from the year they launched the Raw range which is why they are now famous.
G-Star produce both menswear and girls wear collections and most recently have formulated a distinct clothing for kids. Their three flagship stores are located in Ny, Australia and their country of foundation The Netherlands.
