Hola hermanos,
I wanted to let you all know what a blessing it was to work with all of you. I know we didn’t have much work to do, especially on Friday but you all hung in there and never complained. I hope everyone enjoyed the boat ride to in the pitch dark of the night (now I realize that adventure was probably not the safest thing to do) Jacinto and I did try to plan the activity earlier but it just didn’t work out.
I don’t have the words to thank you - all of you for joining together and serving in . I am impressed by how we all united together as a team. The bathroom was the best I have seen.
I want to thank the Frater team for their Leadership and the following people:
Tom - for enjoying the children of the village both days. If you wanted to find Tom you could find him in the middle of the children.
Audra for taking care of the medical clinic making sure the doctors had everything they needed to work with and for always doing a great job selecting her wonderful students. You will be missed in 2011
George - for working along side of his friends Donnie and Iris in the dental clinic. For also allowing the teens to help with the equipment in the dental clinic.
Hanna - thank you for your gentle spirits, your willingness to serve and always Smiling even when you were sick.
Jean for translating even though I know you wanted to help in the pharmacy.
Philip for being a great photographer for the team, you did a great job taking pictures
Bruce and Carol – Thank you for running clinic stations. Bruce thank you for taking care of the team members a few of us got sick (more than usual). Carol thank you for having a listening ear and advice.
Tracy– for returning and serving in again, for bring Alex and letting her enjoy the country. I’m sure I will see Roger signing up soon.
Jared – I can really see maturity in you. Last time you had an energetic spirit and playing (nothing wrong with that) but this time you were all about working and staying focused setting up the injections and helping in the dental clinic.
Megan- for your quiet spirit working anywhere needed, especially helping Audra in the medical clinic moving patients along.
Ed, Alex and Charity – working together in the dental clinic, kid’s clinic and just keeping yourselves busy in the village.
Donnie for being the trouble maker (just kidding) thank you for keeping it fun and helping George in the dental clinic and holding the flash light.
Ramon – for helping in the pharmacy – Jacinto enjoyed your good humor and he will remember Iris praying for rain (we laughed about it all weekend)
Iris – for having such a loving outgoing personality, for suggesting brushing the childrens teeth rather than just handing them the toothbrushes. We had teenagers come and ask about the “limpiar dientes” (cleaning teeth clinic) on Saturday.
It was nice getting to know the student nurses, Kyle, Katie, Kim, Denise and Allison - Thank you for being flexible and always Smiling, I really enjoyed all of you. Dr. Antonio really enjoyed teaching you and running a class for you. (I think you all passed)
There is so much more I can say about all of you. Thank you for your time and desire to serve in . May God continue to work in your hearts and lives. I hope to see all of you on future trips.
Love,
Jo-Ann
“Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. I always pray for you, and make my requests with a heart full of joy because you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now.” Philippians 1:3-5
