Mission trips change people. Sure, we can send money and materials to people in need. But it’s not the same as bringing it to them. Seeing people who care enough to take the time and expense to go and give themselves for the sake of others makes an unbelievable impact. Unbelievable until you see their faces, hear their words of thanks, feel their handshakes and hugs, and watch their tears of joy and happiness flow down their faces. There is no substitute for personally showing someone the love of Jesus. You have changed their lives.
And there is more. You will be changed too. It may be a small change or it may be a large change, but you will look at life a little differently after going on a mission trip. We may not be able to help the entire world but we can make a difference for an entire community. Each team that we take is making a difference. Each person who goes is making a difference too.
