TALK Homework
What is your favourite animal and how would you look after one?
Warning: Icy playground
When the weather is very cold and frosty the safety surface in the playground underneath the climbing frame can become very slippy and dangerous for the children to play on.
At play times teachers on duty will let children know when it is not safe to play on.
Can parents please be aware before and after school? If it is frosty/icy please don't let your children play in this area. Thank you.
Whole School Target
Our current whole school target is to "follow the assembly rules". This means:
* Good Looking
* Good Listening
* Good Sitting
Trout Watch
Hester and some other year 2 children had a very important job this week. The water need to be changed and treated with special chemicals in our new trout tank. The tank remains covered over at the moment but we hope to remove the cover next week. Out of 100 eggs, we have 91 babies in the tank!
Goodbye to Rayhaan and Madeline!
Rayhaan and Madeline had their last day at HBIS this week. We will miss you both and wish you good luck in your new schools.
New Trout fish tank
You may have noticed a new addition to the school main entrance. We now have a new fish tank. Currently it is shrouded in darkness whilst the trout eggs hatch. Lila (class 8) and Mrs Carr had a sneaky peek and have discovered that already some eggs have hatched! Hopefully the dark covering can be removed later next week. Do come and have a look for yourself.
NSPCC Sponsorship
Following an assembly yesterday all pupils have brought home a leaflet and sponsorship form for "Buddy's Workout." Pupils will take part in a special workout activity in school. You can help to support the NSPCC charity by sponsoring your child. All sponsorship forms and collect money needs to be return to school by 2nd February.
Goodbye Sian
We would like to wish Miss Kelly goodbye and good luck in her exciting adventure in Australia. Sian has worked as a learning support assistant throughout the school for a while now. However, she is now leaving for warmer climates as she jets off to Australia for an extended visit, before beginning her teacher training in September.
We will all miss you!
Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2012!
We hope you have all had a lovely break and that you are ready for the year ahead.
School resumes on Wednesday - see you there!

We hope all of you have a fantastic break, and that all of those celebrating Christmas have a wonderful day.
We will see you all back in 2012!
Goodbye and Good Luck!
Today we have said goodbye to Mrs Hall, who is the current class 7 teacher. Mrs Hall is leaving school to enjoy some quieter days for a while. Mrs Hall has been at HBIS for 9 years and over the years has worked in every year group, and nearly every classroom!
We will miss her, but wish Mrs Hall all the best for the future.
