How much fun can you have in two days? Come to the 2011 Trail Ride and find out what you missed in 2010! It was a BLAST! Great people, beautiful horses, incredible venue, fantastic sponsors, fabulous food, great entertainment...the best family event in the state!

Thanks so much to everyone who made this weekend so enjoyable. We had great volunteers, great kids, wonderful riders, and so many amazing animal lovers. The ranch was gorgeous as always and the only thing "purttier" was the pregnant glow from sweet Sarah (one of our generous hosts who slaved away each day even though she's due to deliver any time). There were also many BEAUTIFULE SPOILED HORSES! We see so much of the other side that the site of the well cared for horses and their canine traveling companions was also a blessing. My family and I had a great time and are excited to start working on next year's event. Thanks so much to the Dudley Family, the Shepherd Family, and the Kratowitz Family - and of course to the sponsors who made this possible - Thrive, Time and Timber Ranch, the Equine Body Shop, and so many more. The reason for this great event...
Never has our staff faced such a formidable learning curve. The seizure was the culmination of a 5 month investigation that incorporated separate counties and spanned an election year. Upon taking office, Sheriff Jeffery Lyon set an example for all his peers by stepping in and immediately providing the law enforcement support needed to put a stop to the horrific conditions those animals faced. The case is now known as the largest horse and livestock cruelty seizure in history. Today, all that remains on the weed-choked property alongside highway 174 are the bleached bones and tattered remnants of hide from the animal victims. This evidence of cruelty will forever be imprinted in our collective memories.

Brought a good friend of mine, and my young daughter for this 2-day ride and camp-out. This ride was filled with everything you could want in a wonderful ride ... a FULL day of riding, challenging hills, plentiful water crossings (for a warm Texas day), scenery with all the wild flowers in bloom, meeting new friends ... then in the evening, sitting back with good food, live music, and an auction that is certain to provide everyone with SOMETHING they just need to have! The ride last year was wonderful and we plan on being there again this year to support HSNT - They are wonderful people who do not get enough recognition for what they do, what they see and how they handle it. God Bless people who are involved with HSNT and to all those that support them. The Walkers will see you all in April. Until then keep up the good work!!!!!

kudos to goin postal to not only being #1 burleson for all your shipping and printing needs but
being great supporter of hsnt and being 'first' to step forward to sponsor this event. johnson county maY be a great place to live and do business but sadly has a very high ranking on animal abuse and neglect cases
i am challenging the busineses in johnson county to step up and make a contribution to this great cause.
