The Rudd Trio - 12-23-2008 - You Are My Sunshine

"These are the beautiful grandchidren of Alan and Pam Rudd. In this video, they range in ages from 2 yrs, 9 months to 9 years old.

The Heritage Bluegrass Band invites The Rudd Trio to sing a few songs at the Heritage Center in Vero Beach, FL. on Dec. 23, 2008.
The Rudd Trio lives in Port Saint Lucie, FL. with their parents, Bill & Rachel Rudd, and are the grandchildren of Alan (stand-up bass player in video) and Pam Rudd of Vero Beach, FL.

Alan Rudd was surprized by Bruce Hamilton with this song at a party on Sat. January 10, 2009 in Vero Beach, FL. It was a party to get the ex-band members of the Blue Cypress Band and other friends together that had not been together in a long time. All of the band members were there except for one,Terry Gilbert (banjo) who lives in Tallahassee, FL. and couldn't attend. Those that did attend were Alan Rudd (stand-up doghouse bass fiddle) and Fred Creech (guitar/vocal) both of Vero Beach, FL., Bruce Hamilton (song writer & singer of this song/guitar) of Jacksonville, FL. and Rick Edmisten (mandolin) of Newton, NC. Also in this video is a long-time friend Randy Baker (guitar/vocal) of Vero Beach, FL, who was a member in a different band with Alan, Rick and Fred.
A big thank you to Bruce for writing this great song for and about Alan. We are looking forward to when it is published.

Heritage Bluegrass Band website UPDATE:

Hello everyone! Sorry I have not been able to keep the website up-to-date for the past summer. My health is not great, so I can just do what I am able to depending on my day. Please bear with me, and I will update the band's websites as often as possible.

Our weekly shows will be starting back on Tues. November 8, 2011. We will return to the Heritage Center in Vero Beach that evening for our first show of the season!

Until then, I will try to post scheduled gigs on this site.

Always feel free to contact us if you are interested in finding out if any of the guys are playing. Alan plays with three different bands at this time, and some of the Heritage Bluegrass Band members play some of the same gigs with him. So you never know who is playing where when it comes to the players in this band.

WE'RE BACK! 7:30pm - 9:30pm (NOVEMBER 2009 thru APRIL 2010)

HERITAGE BLUEGRASS BAND WILL BE RETURNING TO THE HERITAGE CENTER ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2009 FOR OUR FIRST BLUEGRASS SHOW OF THE SEASON!

WE WILL RESUME BACK TO OUR WEEKLY SHOW ON EVERY TUESDAY NIGHT, (excluding holidays), BEGINNING NOVEMBER 3, 2009 PLAYING THROUGH THE MONTH OF APRIL, 2010.

Heritage Bluegrass Band at Heritage Center, Vero Beach, FL.

These pictures were taken by Charlie & Ginny Basford at a regular Tuesday night show at the Heritage Center in downtown Vero Beach, FL.

The band is The Heritage Bluegrass Band, which performs every Tuesday night there, and has been for the past 7 years straight. This is a normal size crowd during the winter months. Every chair is taken with standing room only.

There is a smaller version of this band which is for hire for festivals, or any size special events or occassions. It usually consist of Alan Rudd (doghouse bass) and 4 or 5 of the other band members. That band is called Heritage "Special" Bluegrass Band.
