Hey Jude Lane - heyjudelane

Well, Jude is mobile...... he is a walking fool. About a week ago he really started going. He had a slow start but now has the hang of it and only crawls when he is in a HUGE hurry (still can't run yet:) He can now wave bye bye (and say it) blow kisses, dance (usually to the end credits of Nemo), he knows how to use the remote, and picks random things up and pretends that they are a phone and says "hello", he has discovered dirt and is obsessed.

It has been awhile since I have been on here. I am going to try once again to keep up with the post.... so here we go!!!!

We had such a fantastic time having y'all over.  Merry  Christmas!

Well, we have had an eventful week or so. Jude made it through his first Halloween... and he was one stinker (look below for pictures). He actually did really well. He never put up a fight about wearing the costume, and was really good while trick -or-treating. We took him to Aunt Puddin's so he could go trick or treating with his cousins Micah, Mia, and Morgan. They all had a great time... and so did we.

This week Jude has been working on breaking those front teeth through those gums of his. They are right below the gums and giving him hell (sepecially at night).

... and Jude is now mobile. He has been doing I semi milatary crawl for a bit, but now he has perfected it. He isn't up on all fours crawling, but he gets around really well using his military style crawl. Along with this mobility he has learned that he can explore many more things. In other words he is into EVERYTHING!!!!!! Yes, Mommy will be babyproofing today:)

Well, Jude has two teeth that have broken through, which happened last month. Just when we got used to sleeping through the night and not having Orajel on hand at all times, here we go again!!!!! He is showing all the signs of another tooth working it's way in... I just hope it pops right out, but we shall see.

Other than that things have been pretty good around here.  We all went to Conroe this weekend to take a big family picture. We were really tired (we had to get up early to make it there in time) and cranky. It was rainy and a bit cold, which didn't help things. Jude did ok... but towards the end it was pretty rocky!!!! I can't wait to see if any of them turned out alright. We will be going into the doctor again this week to get his flu shot. He couldn't get it last time we were there because he got his vaccinations. Mommy is pretty nervous about the flu shot, but I guess it is good for him.

Jude is getting really really good at his walker. He is sooo fast we can barely get out of his way in time before he runs us over. He is also still loving puppy (aka Cash). Other than that he spends a lot of his time playing on his playmat with all his toys. Each day we fet closer to crawling.... but we definitely aren't there yet!!!!

I think it has taken us about a week to get back in the swing of things. Last weekend Jude had his very first long weekend away from us. We had to go to a wedding out of town (Congrats Bethany & Matt) so Jude spent the weekend with his Auntie Tracy. He had a ball... I don't even think he realized we were gone:)

Tracy kept him busy the whole weekend with shopping, play dates, Nimo, Football games, and of course lots of snuggle time!!!!! We missed him so much, but I also knew that he was in the best hands (with his number one fan).

Other than that Jude is growing up so fast. He now thinks he is too big to just sit and play... he now only wants to stand. I have tried explaining that he needs to sit - then crawl - then walk, but he isn't getting it:) Just kidding he actually is getting really interested in trying to crawl, which is a big jump from the days when he wouldn't even lay on his tummy. He is also due for his 6 month check up this week. This is a bad one (SHOTS!!!!!). I hope we do ok with it, he has always done pretty good with his shots so far, so lets not change things now. I am curious to see how much he has grown, and what the next steps in food should be.

Check out the action packed video of Jude training for his future swim compitions.  He has really made great advances in his time after we moved him out into deep waters.  (ie tub without the plastic kid bucket).  He has also realize he can do a forward motion by scooting on his bottom.  By the way my wife is complaining about the lack of creativity in my first post.  It's one in the morning and I am tired so just watch the video...

Well, last night Jude slept for the first time in his big boy crib, in his own room. I know this is a little late for him to be moving into his room, but that is mainly because of me. I just didn't want him to leave my side. Having him in his little bassinet next to me has been so nice... but I realize we need our space back and he is going to need his own little space. He did just fine, of course he has been taking all his naps in his crib for awhile now, so for him it was an easy transition. It will probably take me longer to get used to him not being right next to me in the room... but it must be done!

Other than that another first this week was taking a bath in the big boy tub. He has obviously been taking his baths in the tub for awhile but in his baby tub. Finally we thought to ourselves... he is sitting so well now why not let him try the tub. He LOVED it!!!!! He just kept splashing like crazy and trying to catch all his squirter friends & Mr. Rubber Ducky (his favorite to chew on) we eventually had to pull him out!! Aunt Betty watch out we might have another swimmer on our hands;)

Mr. Jude is celebrating turning six months by being sick. He isn't running a fever (thank God!) but he is super congested, with a runny nose and sneeze attacks:( The worst is that he can't sleep at night, because when he lays down he can't breath... so, needless to say Jude and Mommy are getting no sleep till he feels better.

Tonight we were giving sicky a bath with some special vapor bath to help him to breath better. Well, I guess it did the trick in relaxing him. We got ditracted and were squiting each other with his toys and I look over and he isn't looking at us (which is wierd for him), and he had a very serious look on his face. As soon as I could say..."Are you pooping???" we say bubbles. Yes he did.... he layed a poopy in his bath. We barely stopped laughing long enough to pull him out right away.

Aww, what a way to end this sick day:) I sure hope Jude starts feeling better and everone gets some sleep tonight!

Happy half Birthday Jude..... today Jude turned 6 months old:)

I just can't believe our little baby is halfway to turning one, time really has flown by. Now that he is 6 months old he thinks he is such a big boy. He now sits on his own, in fact we can't get him to lean back at all anymore (stroller, car seat, etc). He now has his two bottom teeth and is working on the top. He had a bit of a slow down in growth this past month, but he is still at the top of all the charts (& still off the chart in height).

At 6 months Jude's joys in life are jumping in his jumper (big surprise), walking around in his new walker, laughing at the silly doggies around here, and hanging out with his Meme... somehow she can always get him laughing.

Coming up in Jude's life: Jude will have his first sleep over with his Auntie Tracy, while we go to a wedding out of town. I am sure he will have a blast and return more spoiled than ever:) Let's just hope his mommy and daddy survive the time away from him:(

The day has come!!!! We have been waiting until we thought Jude might be ready for a walker. We thought since he likes his jumper so much he would really like to try walking so Nana bought him a super cool walker. I put him in it thinking he wouldn't do much... maybe just play with the keyboard a bit. Well, he got right right to business walking:) He scoots more than walks, I think because he is so used to jumping. Either way he has fun. He is growing up soooo fast!!!!!

This week has been pretty uneventful. Just a few updates.... Jude's first tooth has broken through. This has made for some long nights, he makes it through about half the night then he is up every hour tossing and turning in pain. This is along with fever and one night he even threw up from too much saliva:(  Also, he is getting really close to being able to sit on his own. He can do it for awhile, but we aren't to the point that I can leave him because he still can't keep his balance for long periods of time. Tummy time has also gotten a lot more fun now that he has started playing with all his toys.

Uncle Travis came to visit today... we hadn't seen him in awhile, and it was great to be able to hang out!!!!!

We had a nice evening stuffing ourselves. Our friends the Nabor's came over for dinner. Believe it our not Jude stayed up for their whole visit. We had Chicken Parmesan, fettucine alfredo, and strawberry shortcake.... man are we stuffed.... back to the diet tomorrow:)

 

I posted a new video below. This is one of the first times Jude got REALLY tickled at his Daddy, who he thinks is super silly. At first it sounds like he is screaming or crying, but then you can tell that he is just cracking up... enjoy!!!!

This past Saturday, Jude was finally Baptised:)

We had a very special blessed day. It started at the church where Jude was joined into God's family. He shared this special day with one other little boy. However father Ivy sure did show favorites towards Jude. We took some pictures afterwards and Father didn't want to let Jude go. He was all about taking more pictures. This is really funny because usually he comes off as being very serious and stressed. He did great with the water, when Father poured it on his head his eyes got real big and he moaned a bit (it was really cold) but he never really cried. He is such a good boy.

After the Baptism the whole family set off to Bellville for the reception. Anthony's Mom and Dad most generously hosted a luncheon afterwards at their house. Tata made her AWESOME suga!!!! Everyone stuffed themselves and had a great time, unfortunately Jude slept through most of it. The night before he must have been to excited because he stayed up until 2:30 in the morning. Needless to say, we where all pretty tired the next day.

As if the day wasn't already eventful, we decided to got to the downtown concert that night. It was really great to see a whole community get together and enjoy some good music. We didn't stay long, but we did have  a good time. It was just what we needed to close our special day!!!

I took Jude to the doctor yesterday and he had to get his 4 month shots... even though he is almost 5 months now. Some how we got off with our visits and they now run at the end of each month. Oh well!!

The doc says Jude is A Okay!!!!! He went down in his weight and head circumfrence he was in the 98th percential and is now in the 90th (still big). However, he jumped in his height... he is now actually off the charts. I think some little boy is going to be tall!!!!!!

He did pretty good with his shots. He only cried for a couple seconds and then was fine:) He has been running a fever for 2 days now, but is playing like nothing is wrong... he is such a good boy!

Dr. Goldberg commented on how he was a good boy... very calm and observant. He nailed it, Jude is a very calm, good, observant little boy!!!! We got so lucky to have such an awesome baby... I thank God for him everyday:)

Well, after almost 3 weeks of all of us taking turns at being sick, things are starting to look up. I am the only one left with a cough now. Hopefully I will get me strength back, and things will get back to normal. We are getting there:)

This is a big week for Jude... he has his 4 month check up on Wenesday (shots... boo!!!!) and Baptism on Saturday. We are so excited to have him Baptised and to have the family come down for the celebration.

This week has been a hard one. Anthony has been sick most of the week, which has been really hard on us all. I had to be a single parent for four days straight, Anthony was sick in bed, and Jude was missing his Daddy BIG-time!!! It was so sad... Anthony was trying to stay in our room away from Jude, just in case.  Everytime he would come through the room Jude would just give him the sadest eyes. You could tell that all he wanted was for his Daddy to pick him up and play with him:(

All is better now... Anthony is feeling better now and Jude has his Daddy back!

Jude celebrated his first 4th of July today. We took it easy on him... we spent a quiet relaxing afternoon at Tata & Papa's. Due to the BAD heat no one really felt like going out to see any fireworks. We came home and spent the rest of the evening hanging out in our backyard (in the shade:)

Even though it was a pretty laid back day Jude was pretty tuckered out by the end of the night, he crashed pretty hard.

Not a lot has happened lately. Kyle and Sarah came to visit this weekend, and it was great hanging out and relaxing. Unfortunately towards the end of the weekend and the begining of this week I was sick, but I am feeling better now.

In other news we took away Jude's books that he had under his feet with his jumper. He is now a big boy and can touch the ground, no problem. We thought he might be a little freaked out because he could jump really high with the books, but as soon as we took them away he got to jumping like nothing had changed. It is so wierd to see him jumping like a big boy. When we first put him in the jumper he could barely touch with two thick books stacked on top of each other.

Other than that we are looking foward to this 4th of July weekend!!!!! Long weekend with Daddy, Yay!!!!!!!!

 

We had an awesome Father's Day!!!! After a few weeks of Anthony working late and long hours we all just needed some family time. That is exactly what we did.... we hung out at the house and grilled some yummy steaks and got some much needed relaxation:)

Jude loves his daddy very much.... and I think Anthony is the best daddy (& husband) ever!!!! We are both so lucky to have him in our lives, watching over us and taking care of this family. Thanks Anthony... I love you, and Happy 1st Father's Day!!!!

Today we took Jude in for his 3 month check up. NO SHOTS... so it was a good visit!!!!

Everything checked out just fine, Jude is a happy healthy baby boy. I am not even sure I can call him a "baby" boy anymore the way he is growing:)

Since our last visit he has gained around 2lbs weighing in at 16.75lbs, and the big shocker is that he stretched out and is now alomost 26in (which is 3" in a months time). This puts him in the 95-98% in his weight, height, and head. well, to sum it up he is a big boy.

He was also given the green light for eating food now. This coming week he will be enjoying cereal w/ fruit in the mornings, veggies for lunch, and cereal again at night. He is such a big boy, and so sweet... we really couldn't ask for a better lil' guy, we are so blessed:)

I was starting to think that Jude would never get the hang of tummy time. He has hated it with a capital "H" since day one. All of a sudden this week he decided it isn't all that bad. He was actually having fun today. It makes me so happy that he is finally starting to like tummytime:) Maybe he will learn to crawl one day;)

Anthony and I had our first date night, since Jude has joined us, on Saturday. I must admitt it waas really nice to get a little break. However we had a hard time keeping our eyes away from the clock and finding anything other than Jude to talk about. I guess that even when we are away from our little man, he is always still on our minds:)

Jude is all tuckered out after his lunch date with his girls (auntie Janis & auntie Linda). He slept through most of our lunch at Funky Art... but woke up just in time for shopping afterwards. After shopping off to Meme's house we went.

After his bottle Jude had lots of fun entertaining Meme with lots of smiles and giggles:)

Needless to say he was asleep before we even got out of Meme's driveway... and is now finishing his nap at home. When he wakes up hopefully Daddy will be home (we haven't seen him in 2 days)

Well, Jude is in a hurry to do everything I guess. The moment he hit 3 months he started teething. So, now life is full of drool and chewing:)  He is being a trooper about it so far, his little gums really bother him the most at night.
