The members of the department spent days in November training at the old Cox house at 202 Franklin. This property belongs to Casey’s and will be the site of their new home. We conducted search and rescue training, ladder training, roof ventilation, hose line advancement and live fire training. We also conducted firefighter rescue training, this training teaches firefighters how to "Save their Own" in the event of a firefighter getting in trouble or needing rescued. The reasons a firefighter may need rescued could be health related, building failure or collapse, overcome by fire conditions and lost or missing firefighters.
The training concluded on November 29th with the final burn in which we took the house and garage to the ground. Towanda and Carlock fire departments also participated in our training. We want to say "Thank You!" to Casey's for this training opportunity.
