Well camp seems to be flying campers. And campers are having the time of their lives. Last night, we feasted on our taco bar and churros (a personal favorite). Campers "shower powered" - oh so important at the Villlage. Then, we headed into Council Fire. With our two "Chiefs of the Day" calling on campers to enter, we silently entered Council Fire. Yet as soon as we entered, campers were on their feet singing and clapping to our new memory verse songs. The favorites this week are John 13:34-35 and Micah 6:8.
Foxfire shared on the importance of singing praises to God. Our "Crew" acted out the next chapter of their skit.
Campers participated in a message about how Jesus is with us now. Soon after, they were dismissed to their tipis to discuss with their counselors. And did they ever. We have some incredible stories to bring home with us.
Today it is off to Tribal Activities. Our campers are hiking, climbing, "polar bearing" and more! This afternoon is a big surprise - a sneak down to the pool. The pictures will be incredible.
Thank you for all of your prayers and support!
It's quiet in the Village after a day filled with adventure. Campers arrived between 3-5 today. Check in was smooth as campers met their tribal chiefs and got settled in their tipis. At 5:30, we feasted on chicken and spaghetti (a personal favorite) - with some pretty 'cool' dessert. Later, we met on the field for some connection games. Once your camper returns home - ask him/her to explain "Funderbirds", "Fun Fact" and "Over Here!"
Tonight, we gathered for Council Fire at 8:00. Campers and counselors were so enthusiastic as they joined in singing. We watched our "Crew" skit and learned what it will mean to become "copycats" of Jesus.
Campers are now settled in their tipis eager for our first full day of camp to begin. Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. We'll post an update tomorrow.
