Painting With Light

I use a professional camera but I'm not a professional.

My need to learn photography came when I noticed that no one in particular was covering our numerous church events. I borrowed a small compact film camera and took pictures which I later mounted at the church bulletin board. In college, I bought my own Kodak compact and regularly covered church and family events.

Decades later, I'm still learning and joining photo contests although I seldom win.

My Home Page
This place in the net is a slice of my life. It's mostly about my day-to-day work, my commute, projects, interests and things I do in my spare time. I seldom ask people to visit my site (although I pay about $6.00 a month to keep things running). But some do manage to stumble in because some of the stuff I put here interest them. There’s really not much here but my once-in-a-while musings while riding the shuttle service home and trying to avoid being terrorist fodder.

Purpose Driven Life Promo (2005)
Ptr. Al Termulo, senior pastor of Christ Enthroned Church, requested that I again produce a promo for the 40 Days Purpose Driven Life Campaign in our church. Since this video promo was after I did the Father's Day Promo, I decided to use the same approach of splicing some "purpose moments" from the cinema. It's not as clear-cut like my previous presentation but I had fun doing it.

Heart Languages (2004)
Heart Languages Project (2004) Despite being heard in eight radio stations throughout the country, it's been the vision of Back to the Bible - Philippines to air the programs not only to Tagalog-speaking Filipinos, but also to those who speak Hiligaynon, Iloco and Cebuano. I voiced this video but I'm working on another (better) version with Kaye Langit -- Luistro doing the voice over.

Watch The Lamb (2003)
Ate Merlyn Guillermo asked that I produce an accompanying video for their Christmas Cantata specifically for the song "Watch The Lamb". It was a very heart rending song and I needed to convey a strong message about Jesus Christ being the "Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world." This was one of the first video presentations I made and I used some footage from Campus Crusade for Christ's "Jesus" film. I think the video is also good for Lenten Season presentations.

Heart Line Video (2004)
Heart Line is a one and a half hour radio telephone counseling program produced by Back to the Bible -- Philippines and Far East Broadcasting Company. Aired Mondays to Fridays from 10 to 11:30 in the evening, the program receives hundreds of text messages each night and several phone-in questions from Filipinos who are depressed, confused and those seeking answers. Today, Heart Line receives no less than 200 text messages every night. The program also receives numerous phone-in calls, letters and e-mail messages.

Mindanao Missions Project (Part 01)
Muslims appreciate prayer. Five times a day devout Muslims bow before God. If prayer time comes when they are in the middle of work, play or any activity, they will kneel and pray. As Christians, we should do the same for their salvation. When we meet a Muslim, we say Salam alekum or Peace be upon you. He will then respond, We alekum salam which means And on you peace. Peace is so elusive in Mindanao today. But we believe through our radio broadcasts and the work of our supported missionaries, pastors, Christian teachers and other church workers, peace will someday come to the land of the Moros. Just like what the Muslims say, Enshallah -- the future is in Gods hands.
