My Shooting Gallery - 10 - Business Mirror Photo Contest (2008)

I heard the details of this contest on Home Radio FM while riding the FX shuttle in Trinoma. The mechanics seemed simple and the cash prizes were okay so I decided to join.

It turns out that Vanessa Velasco also heard about the contest from reading the Business Mirror. She asked me if I had ideas on what to shoot. I suggested that we divide the assignments with her shooting urban and city settings (restaurants, street peddlers, etc.), and with me taking on provincial tasks (jewelry makers and cemetery workers).

She was supposed to go to Quiapo and some parts of Manila to shoot subjects but she had to cancel it because they literally lacked the manpower. She just settled on shooting the dwellers of Baywalk.

For my part, I pushed through with my assignment and completed my entries. My titles for the entries include: Bringing in The Dead, Your Room is Ready Sir, The Undertakers' Board Meeting and Jewelry Making.

I did not win though. Maybe next time.
