we were driving down SR-1 in the area called the Sea Ranch when I spotted this interesting structure. It is a non denominational chapel.

resevoir near San Francisco
resevoir near San Francisco
this is a pretty resevoir tucked away in the mountains north of San Francisco. I was using my gps to hunt down a 7-11 for breakfast on a Sat morning and the device directed me over a seemingly interminable winding mountain road that led past this resevoir. Never did make it to the 7-11 as I decided to have breakfast here and walk Wesley by this scenic lake.

we hiked the Tomales point trail out to the coastal cliffs at Point Reyes National Seashore. The trail is about 4 miles out and back. Numerous elk and deer were seen along the hike.

good thing that Wes was on leash as he desperately wanted to pursue the herd of elk beside this lake. The lake itself was an interesting feature in that it was located so close to the ocean.

as we approached the point, the trail led past tomales bay. what a joy it would be to live in this scenic little town!

there is a lighthouse on the point of coast jutting out into the ocean. I added the light glow here myself. the winds here were quite strong!

a long stairway descends the cliff to the lighthouse. It was closed when we arrived,so we didn`t descend down to it.

Peace signs?
Peace signs?
I was puzzled as to the peace signs on these grave markers. suppossedly the peace symbol originated in the late 1950`s but these people died in the 40`s.
