the roads circling Donner Lake provided a snowy hike of 3 or 4 miles

many nice cabins are clustered around Donner Lake. They were quite picturesque in the early season Oct snowfall.

I particularly liked the window dressing of this cabin. As I was taking the picture,the owner emerged. He told me that just a few days ago the temp was 70 degrees!

back in the state park again after hiking thru the neighborhood of cabins surrounding Donner Lake. the creek flows into Donner Lake.

Donner Lake State Park is heavily forested and the pines produce really large pine cones. I`ve collected a few on my visits there.
