I've stayed at the Jungle Roost two separate times for about a week each and had an incredible time on both trips! The house is nestled in the rainforest on a secluded, private road with only a couple of other neighbors down the street. You are literally transported into another world when you arrive! The house resembles a grown-up tree house (think modern day Swiss Family Robinson) with four stories that climb into the canopy of the jungle. Each floor of the house has a deck on which you can relax, enjoy a drink and take in all of the beautiful scenery. The best place to view nature is definitely the deck on the top floor where you will literally be face to face with monkeys, sloths, birds and other wildlife. Most mornings we were peacefully awoken to a symphony of noises from the "locals"- usually monkeys, right outside our windows!
The house is very well appointed and very clean with a nice kitchen (we were able to cook a bunch of our meals), great open floorplan and spacious bedrooms. The house has tons of natural light from all the windows. There is a washer and dryer as well, so you don't have to pack as much. The beds are all queen size and very comfy. The tropical/jungle feel is kept inside with decorations and furniture.
The area is awesome, with tons of things to do for the whole family. We were able to go whitewater rafting, ziplining through the jungle, hiking in the big national park, many beach days (short walk or drive down the road), and a couple of trips to the local spas. Lots of good restaurants in the area...try the calamari appetizer at Agua Azul, which is just a short walk up the road.
Overall I would recommend this to anybody wanting to travel to Costa Rica! Awesome place!!! We will be back soon!

Daves jungle roost is fantastic. You have great jungle views from any room in the house. Private beach just a short walk away with great surf and amazing views.
Have stayed here twice and plan on many more return trips.
