In port in Green Cove Springs. Jakealoo is a serious, long distance, deep sea, live aboard, cruiser's sailboat. The mid ship pilot house means you can steer from inside, out of the weather.

We got a couple of hours out before I clicked on the auto pilot. The boat steered hard to the left and the instrument breakers tripped. Turns out the rudder motor connections were reversed. We spent an extra day fixing and testing that.

Here we finally get a chance to put up some sail and it's too much wind. We crash through the waves as we pass Cumberland Island.

We stayed the second night in Fernadina Beach. The tides and the wind turned the boat into a merry go round. We slowly spun in circles all night with the wind playing the rigging like a Cello.

These purple stripe tradescantia look great here by fall, but are not hardy and must be overwintered. (chore!) task: propogate hardy purple tradescantia from friends.

Allisum takes drought well here, but is a bit messy. (shear it occasionally) task: move the gaura to a sunnier, drier spot.

Pink oxalis by front fence with fresh mulch. They came back from dormancy after the august heat, but didn't have much bloom time before an early winter came on. task: at first sign of oxalis recovery in sept. it's time to start fall garden seeds.

Arum Italicum, this is the first year it's bloomed. Some have called this invasive. I'm aprehensive but it makes such a nice leaf and is one of few things that can stand up to the litter of magnolia leaf mulch.
