I believe that the original was woven silk velvet in the strip pattern. Since we are unable to get a fabric woven such as this, I used a fabric that was approved by the client. Someday I may weave the fabric for the dress...

this was a pic taken of me at Middleground, May 2011 by Lady Cat. I messed with photoshop a bit to get rid of the modern background. The jacket isn't quite finished in this photo, still needed buttons and buttonholes and the sleeve caps. I think I tweaked the sleeve heads a bit too.

·   Research projects included WWII era naval uniforms, WWI era civilian clothing. 

·   Constructed giant sea monster for Sea Monsters exhibit

·   Constructed the supporting mount for General Wolfe’s cloak from the Queen’s collection and aided in it’s installation in the Louisbourg exhibit.

·   Researched and constructed fictional and actual sailor’s clothing for Pirates, Myth and Reality.

·   Authored the document Amistad cloth; a study of a small fragment of cloth woven by Sarah Margru Kinson and located in the Nova Scotia Museum Collection.

·   Researched and constructed complete set of clothes from the Viking era for Vikings! The Vinland Mystery for both male and female Interpreters.

·   Authored and published article entitled A New look at the Hedeby Trousers.

·   Wardrobe Management, teaching the students how to interpret design sketches, proper theatre construction techniques, draping, fittings and proper care and storage of the theatre’s wardrobe.

·   Research and co-authored papers on: Cut and Construction of Military Doublets for 78^th  Highlanders, the Ross Shire Buffs,  Civilian Ladies Attire and Hairstyles – as would have been worn at Halifax Citadel 1865-70,  and various other topics pertaining to everyday life at the Citadel. Examining period artifacts, documents and photographs.

·   Grant Applications, Hiring and Instruction of summer student staff under the Young Canada Works program.

·   Consulted on the acquisition of additional research materials pertaining to historical costume

·   Occupational Health and Safety committee member, general inventory duties.

·   Dressed mannequins for theme exhibits.

·   Fitting and Alteration of Historical Uniforms (The 78^th Highlanders, the Ross Shire Buffs), and Civilian clothes.

·   Cutting and Construction of Historical Uniforms and Civilian clothes.

·   Restored and stabilized the “Windsor Suits” for Lt. Gov. James J. Kinley, and Lt. Gov. Myra A. Freeman. Recommended proper storage methods. Consulted on appropriate accessories.
