Kern Valley Farmers Market wins USDA Grant
Tasty produce and fine weather brought the Kern River Valley community together Saturday, October 15, to celebrate the one year anniversary of the Lakeshore Farmers Market. This award celebrates the monumental efforts of the founding members of the Lakeshore Farmers Market who have grown the market in it's first year. In addition to setting up their booths every Saturday morning, rain or shine, the market accepts EBT or SNAP benefits cards and the Senior ...

Silver City Ghost Town - Lantern Walk
Every two weeks during the spring, summer and fall, visitors are treated to a lantern walk through the tiny ghost town of Silver City in Bodfish, CA. J. Paul Corlew, Curator and Director of the museum gives tours of the ghost town daily from 10am - 4pm, and lantern walks every other week. (see schedule - link below). Many of the buildings in Silver City have remained in near original condition as they were back in the days of shootings and hangings, and believed to be haunted by the people who died there. It's been reported several visitors have captured images of unusual things in and near various buildings, and recently audio recordings were collected by paranormal researchers who studied it. You can view "Haunted Discoveries" first show of Silver City and what they found via KoldCast.TV by clicking this link. www.koldcast.tv For more information on the Lantern Walks and other events in Silver City, please visit the Silver City Ghost Town facebook page.
