We have a great spray park up the road from our house and in the summer, they h ave a petting zoo there as well.

We attend Christmas eve service every year and then enjoy spending the morning relaxing and sharing in our family's company.

Dear expecting mother~

We want to introduce ourselves and thank you very much for taking the time to get to know us a bit better. Our names are Kirsten and Adam. We live near Seattle, Washington, between the rocky beaches of Puget Sound and the foothills of the Cascade mountains. We are proud parents of two amazing children, Sawyer and Grace, and all four of us are looking forward to sharing our lives with the child who will make our family complete.

We met each other through an online dating service and had our first date at a small coffee shop on the waterfront. Kirsten was a dedicated and hard-working single mother to Sawyer, and Adam was a serious but fun-loving single guy focused on his career. After sharing a couple of cups of coffee and talking for over six hours, we were both hooked. We were both open to adventure, and the match succeeded beyond our wildest expectations. We married two years later, and in late 2009 our beautiful daughter Grace was born.

Since our marriage we have lived in a small neighborhood on a quiet tree-lined street. We know many of our neighbors and get to enjoy their company at our summer BBQs. We love our house and enjoy working on improvement projects both inside and out. Kirsten is an artist and has a particularly good eye for interior design and gardening. Adam does most of the outside work and, believe it or not, really likes to cut the grass. The kids both enjoy adding their input to the decorating inside as well as helping with the planting of our annual summer garden outside. There is a brand new elementary school across the street from us, complete with a new playground! There are numerous parks nearby, one that even has a petting zoo in the summer as well as a spray area that Grace looks forward to visiting when the weather is warm. Our home has easy access to beaches and hiking trails. Washington is full of wonderful recreational opportunities and we all love to go camping in the summer.

We enjoy spending time alone as a couple. We love to check out consignment stores or often can be seen going for a run together. Doing crossword puzzles together is a nightly routine. Although honestly our favorite time is the time spent together as a family of four. We can only imagine how much more fun there would be to be had with a family of five!



Our life together

We are both lucky to have jobs near our home. Kirsten is a massage therapist with her own practice. She works part-time, on her own schedule, and has always been able to work around the needs of the kids. Adam is an attorney with a local law firm and his office is just down the street. Our flexible schedules mean we never have to miss school events, teacher conferences, or sports activities. We feel so lucky to have jobs that we love but that also allow us to put the needs of our family first.

We are an active family and in our spare time we both like to exercise, visit with family and friends, and get out and about with the kids. Adam is on an adult swim team, Kirsten is a runner, and we both get very good use from our gym memberships. Adam has a lot of extended family that lives nearby and we try to visit Kirsten's family in California as often as possible. On nice days we love to go for bike rides, walks in the woods, and visits to nearby playgrounds and parks. We like to explore and head out to Seattle for day trips and just hang out at local coffee shops spending quality time with the kids, talking and sharing.

Our children

We both LOVE being parents and are very active in our children's lives. It is important to us to provide structure and stability for them so they always know they are safe and supported. Sawyer participates in school athletics and a church youth group, and we enjoy attending events with him and transporting him to various activities. Kirsten and Grace spend their days doing art projects, taking music classes, and attending story group at the library. Kirsten loves the opportunity she has in getting to stay home with the kids and not having to miss a thing. She is happy she is the one that gets to kiss a boo boo, cheer when new things are learned and help with homework everyday.

Sawyer is the best big brother ever. He teaches with patience, and loves to share of himself with Grace. The smile that comes across his face when she does something cute is like no other. He is a kind, intelligent, empathetic boy who sets good examples daily for his sister as well as his close knit group of friends.

Grace is a sweet, active, and smart little girl. She enjoys riding on her trike, doing art projects with Mommy, and making new friends. She says everyday, she is ready to help with bottle feeding, cuddling and singing to a new little sister or brother. She is excited to become the "big sister".

We believe strongly in setting good examples for our children by teaching them to be thoughtful, respectful, and kind. We regularly include Sawyer and Grace in our activities and place a particularly high value on nightly family dinners and family game nights. We strive to nourish our family on positive influences. And of course, we end every day with tons of hugs and kisses and a story before bed. 

Our hope and prayer

For quite some time now, our hearts have been yearning for another child to join our family and share our love. We feel we have so much more to give, and the time seems just right for an addition to the family. We pray that we will be blessed with another wonderful opportunity to be parents. We also have faith that you will find the answer to your dreams for your child. We would love to talk with you further if we seem like a family you would like to get to know better.

If you have questions for us, please do not hesitate to ask them. We would hope for an open adoption so we could all share the love and raising of your child, but if a closed adoption is what you would prefer, we would respect your decision. Either way, your child will always know the unique way we became a family.
