Aloha e KSC ohana -

Daren continues to make good progress on his road to recovery.  He was interviewed this morning as an update to his story and it will be aired tonight on the following stations:  KFVE, KHNL and KGMB.  It will either be 6pm or 10pm OR both time slots and may be repeated on Tuesday morning.

KSC Board

KHON will air a story at 6pm and 10pm Wednesday and again on Thursday morning. KITV will air a story at 10pm Wednesday and again Thursday morning. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser will have a story in tomorrow's sports section.

Sunday, 8/22 we'll be out in front of the Hawaii Kai Safeway selling Zippy's chili tickets to benefit Daren.  We'll be there from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and we're looking for both adults and swimmers to come out to help man the booth. 

 

We've divided the time into 2 hour and 15 min shifts (8:45 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.; 10:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; 12:45 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. & 2:45 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.)   If anyone has any questions or would like to sign up for a shift, please contact Wendy Shigeta (Corrine's mom) at:  ws96825@gmail.com

On Saturday, 8/21 there will be a fundraiser at the 6th annual Pearl City Family Fun Day at Momilani Community Center (715 Ho'omoana Street in Pearl City) from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  This is a family event with rides & inflatables, food, entertainment, and games for everyone.  KSC will be working at the dunking booth, pie throwing booth, shave ice stand, and we will also have our own special origami crane booth.  We are seeking volunteers to help with this all-day event.  We need at least 20 men or older boys to help with parking (2 shifts of 10) along with parents and swimmers to assist with the other booths.  If you are able to help out, please contact Bonnie Kawamoto (Dane's mom) at kawamoto@hawaiianair.com and let her know what booth & shift you can help with.  It'll be a fun day, so plan on coming to volunteering and also enjoying the event with your family!  They're even trying to get the KSC coaches to volunteer for the Dunk Tank.  Won't that be fun to have your kids try to dunk their coaches?!

Dear KSC Ohana,

We‘re having a Zippy’s Fundraiser to help Daren Choi.  Our goal is to sell 1,001 or more tickets.  You can find all the details on the attached pre-sale flyer.We’re motivated and committed to doing our best to make this a success.  We just need your help in reaching as many people as possible.

We’ve also created a special incentive.  KSC swimmers selling 100 or more tickets will be entered in a drawing to win an iPod touch.  We’ll have Daren pick the winner!
