Lake Effect Run Club - 67 - Resolution Run 1/1/09

What a FUN run this was, and that's what it was all about. Beautiful sun marked this entire run, which made the 12 degree temperature tolerable. Parking wasn't bad considering the fairly large crowd of 400. Nice staging inside the Spaghetti Warehouse. Surprisingly good flow pre and post run despite it being in a restaurant! $13 got you membership/newsletters in Syracuse Track Club for 1 year, run registration, and all you can eat chili/pasta/beer/soda and crappy prizes. How can you beat that! Best run deal for a non "race" in town.

Lake Effecters that I saw were Bill, Mark, Tom, Bob, Chris and Mary Ellen.

The start got off about 10-15 minutes late due to late shows, but it was no big deal since we were indoors. Champagne was popped open to mark the starting "gun", and we were off. We hit 2 large hills, one was a steep brick road, and the other in a city park. Both nice climbs. Nice area of the City to run through actually. Champagne stop about 1/2 way through, in the park was a nice touch, although due to hang overs, I'm not sure how many indulged. The run was very cold at first. With the light wind, a face freeze was occurring until you warmed up. After the race the chili was awesome. Pretty hot, but I like it that way. The pasta was done perfect. I still can't believe all they had for $13. The prizes which were somewhat randomly given were hilarious. Possum meat, and old TV's and lamps and ugly shirts. Someone was trying to avoid a garage sale.

Thanks to Syracuse Track Club and many Volunteers for a great event! I'll look forward to this one next year.
